Disputing the Economic Man - a quantitative study on whether investor decision-making can be distorted by altering the presentation of an Exchange Traded Fund
During recent years, financial innovation has given rise to numerous structured investment opportunities aimed towards the general public. These have enabled private investors to engage in high-risk investments offering as much as 400 per cent leverage while oftentimes not fully having grasped the risk involved. The issuers of these securities have been criticized for using advertising of a too aggressive and misleading nature.By presenting 819 potential investors with two different investment opportunities yielding the same return over a six day period, we have aimed to assess whether the inclination of being affected by judegmental heuristics varies with factors such as knowledge, overall attitude towards the asset class, risk appetite and experience from previous investments.We have observed that investors' perception of the attractiveness of an investment can be distorted by altering the information presented to the investor. However, our findings show that this tendency decreases with an increased level of knowledge, experience and risk appetite..

Background Being outdoors on a regular basis is beneficial for all individuals, people with dementia who is living in special accommodation have not always that possibility. If the person with dementia live in a stimulating environment can contribute to the person's functions are maintained. Aim To provide a basis for evaluation of a new outdoor environment at a special accommodation for people with dementia. Method of data collection in action research was done through focus group with staff on the accommodation and the participants in the project, a total of five informants. Results Informants thoughts and experiences were analyzed and divided into three main categories to describe the project - design, obstacles and goals.

Over the last decade the conversation on entrepreneurship has been both worldwide and intense. In Sweden, as in many other countries, this conversation has also concerned women?s entrepreneurship. Parallel with this conversation has been the debate on women in leading position in large corporations. This thesis aims to find out why and how women use entrepreneurship to handle existing conditions in life (such as the hardship of combining a traditional career with a traditional family life) and to create new conditions that suit them better.
Sensorteknik inom flygunderhållet
Detta examensarbete utfördes på uppdrag av akademin för innovation, design och teknik vid Mälardalens Högskola och undersöker hur mikrosensorteknik med stöd av regelverk används och kan komma att användas för det tillämpade tillståndsbaserade underhållet inom flygbranschen från ett underhållsperspektiv. Syftet är att introducera den oinsatte i tekniken med dess möjligheter och begränsningar. Arbetet gjordes i tre faser. Först generella efterforskningar och källsökning, därefter fördjupning med förfrågningar till bolag och slutligen sammanställning av insamlade kunskaper. Även om förhoppningen var att få mer respons från tillfrågade bolag, så påvisar ändå frånvaron en viss indikation på den slutsats som dragits om det relativt låga intresset hos slutanvändaren i dagsläget.

andra typer av arbetsgrupper från en större population. I den här studien
användes Team Diagnostic Survey (TDS). TDS instrumentet används för att mäta
faktorer som anses vara avgörande för gruppens effektivitet enligt en modell
av Hackman (2002). Den statistiska bearbetningen visade på 12 signifikanta
skillnader. Skillnader visade sig inom följande områden: compelling direction,
enabling direction, supportive organizational context och available coaching.

This bachelor thesis in European studies examines the perceived effects ofEuropeanization among officers, soldiers and seamen in the Swedish Armed Forces(SAF) through the use of semi-structured respondent interviews. The study focuses onchange in rules, values, identity and organizational changes.The study shows the most important parts of what is believed to be the biggestfactors behind the major change in the SAF during the last 20 years. The biggestfactors are shown to be the fall of the Warsaw pact and the increasing influence ofNATO in Europe. Interviews show that staff within the SAF has difficultiesseparating change coming from the EU and the above-mentioned factors, partially dueto the fact that most members of the European union are also part of NATO. In 1994 it was decided that a new network based organizational model was to be initiated to face the problems of some of the gender inequalities in Sweden. The organisation structure was named Resource Centre for Women (ResursCentrum för kvinnor).This essay constitutes a qualitative case study of governing, with this organisation structure as my field of inquiry. My ambition has been to outline and explain what kind of governing has been used and how it works. I have also tried to identify potential changes of the ways of governing over time. To help me out with that task, I have applied a theoretical framework, characterized of a governance perspective, and have used terms as: governing with networks, partnership, projects and visionary government to interpret my empiric material.My result shows that there have been various changes in the ways of governing, from a more hierarchal government form of governing to a more governance based one..

The conflict is identified as a result of the company leadership is steering for cost savings and efficiency The aim of this study is through analysis of the open questions in a quantitative survey describe how the staffs attitudes and culture is affecting the leadership of the organization. The ideological aspect is very clear and through the aspect of the structural differences between the public and private sector makes it possible to identify the staff?s social rules, ideology and group norms. These are shown to be in conflict with the economical perspective of the private sector.
Motiv till att fortsätta föreningsidrotta : En enkätstudie om 13 till 18-åriga föreningsidrottande flickor
Pupils, and most of all girls, drop out of organized sports in the ages 13-18. The purpose of this survey was to study which motives girls had to proceed in sports together with differences between certain groups. This study was based on a survey which included 86 responses from girls active in sports in 10 different compounds. The results showed that the most frequent motives to do sports were to have fun and to feel well. Differences showed were that the ones who trained more often and the ones who practiced more than one sport found that to work hard was an important motive, compared to the other groups.

Studiens syfte var att få kunskap om förhållanden som kan leda till ett förändringsarbete som är lyckosamt. Det vi ville undersöka var hur en ledare ska bete sig/handla för att få en lyckad organisationsförändring men även varför och på vilket sätt kommunikationen är viktig vid en förändring?Metoden som användes var kvalitativ och vårt empiriska material skaffades genom intervjuer. I vår studie deltog fem respondenter. Genom analys av teori och intervjumaterial har vi kommit fram till slutsatsen att man måste ha egenskaper från både transformativt och transaktionellt ledarskap.

Patent och företags storlek - finns det en tröskel till inträde?
Several studies have investigated the relationship between different measures of innovative activity, such as patent statistics and R&D expenditures and some have looked deeper into the differences between large and small firms regarding number of patents issued per employee or per R&D dollar. In this paper, the objective is to find out if there are any indications of a barrier to entry (due to economical factors, lack of knowledge etc) for small firms to get into the field of patent handling. The approach is to first set up a hypothesis based on some simple assumptions about how firms would make decisions about whether to apply for a patent or not and thereafter use econometric methods in an empirical investigation. The data used for this study are figures on number of employees, number of patents granted and R&D expenditures for the Swedish firms in the pulp and paper industry. The main conclusion is that, based on the analysis of the data from this rather limited group of firms, no such barrier can be seen..
