The Yangtze finless porpoise (Neophocaena phocaenoides asiaorientalis), is a small freshwater cetacean which has recently fallen dramatically in number. It is an endemic species for the Yangtze River and unless drastic action is taken, it risks the same fate as the now functionally extinct Yangtze river dolphin (Lipotes vexillifer). Threats to the porpoise are diverse but they have in common that they are caused by man. Development of the river has been made to supply a growing human population with food, hydropower, and to reduce the risk of flooding. These changes have resulted in a degraded habitat for the porpoise.

The main purpose of this work was to examine the information behavior of nonfiction publishing Company editors. Three problem areas were presented and expressed in the following questions:- What is the information need of the editor in every day work?- Which sources of information do the editors use when they are looking for information and how do they make use of them?- Are there any factors that have an influence on the information behavior of the editors and in what way do the factors effect the information behavior of the editors in their everyday work? And finally, do the editors experience any factors as barriers to information behavior?Six editors, all with academical background, all employed in different publishing companies were interviewed. The result of this study have been analysed within a theoretical framework influenced by the work of Tom Wilson, Lars Höglund and Olle Persson and Block and Lagberg. The result shows that the editors had various regular needs of information in their every day work.

This thesis investigates and emphasises on the way students at Växjö police academy describe their socialization into their profession as police officers and the creation of profession identity. The scientist?s main questions are: In what way do the students at Växjö police academy describe their socialization process into the police profession? What role does the organisation play in the socialization process of the police students? How do the students develop their police identity? Which qualities are encouraged? The study is based on qualitative interviews with nine police students, performed in groups of three. Group theory, role theory, and organization theory are applied to the material to provide an understanding through which it is possible to understand the process of socialization. The study shows that there seems to be patterns in the description of a professional identity.

Background: Since the start of the twenty-first century it has become very important for companies to act in a responsible manner, in guides of CSR. The theoretical perspectives have been the theory of street-Level Bureaucracy, social constructivism and Stages of change. The material has been collected through qualitative semi-structured interviews and email-interviews with the social workers. The aim of this study was to examine if the social workers uses their theoretical experiences about their attitudes in their practical work and if their response can raise or reduce the young offenders motivation to change their behaviour. To collect information it was chosen that this study would only concentrate on the social workers opinions.

På grund av den ökade konkurrensen på världsmarknaden krävs det att företag ständigt utvecklas för att hålla sin position på marknaden. Nätverksstrukturen kan vara ett av många sätt att möta den hårda konkurrensen på mellan företagen. Uppsatsen behandlar två nätverksorganisationer med olika strukturer och arbetssätt där det ena företaget är uppbyggt utifrån ett franchisekoncept och det andra utifrån en federativ organisation samt strategisk allians. Wildlife fences are today commonly used along highways to reduce the risk of vehicle collisions with wildlife. Since traffic and roads have expanded over the years, wildlife behaviour has become more interesting not only for the prevention of vehicle collisions but also to understand how human activities impact their natural habitats. Moose is one of those animals that have increased in interest in such studies. In this study, I tested if the probability to cross wildlife fences of moose would increase with increasing home range sizes, and also at what time of the year they cross. The study area is situated in Nordmaling municipality, located in Northern Sweden in the County of Västerbotten.

Det finns starka skäl att tro att pengar spelar mer än enbart en materiell roll för våra organisationers styrning, utveckling och beteende. Utgångspunkten för uppsatsen är att det finns en annan sida av myntet som åberopar pengars symboliska värden.  Med en djupdykning i det teoretiska perspektivet om kulturen som ett styrmedel kan vi förstå pengar som det symboliskt indirekta som utgör ett väsentligt verktyg i skapandet av det system som leder till en mer lönsam organisation. Med hjälp av ett kulturellt perspektiv på organisation och ledning kan vi alltså förstå hur vi kan skapa ett system som ökar de anställdas prestation och organisationens effektivitet.  Den återstående frågan är hur vi praktiskt går tillväga.Syftet för uppsatsen är att undersöka hur ledningen kan gå tillväga för att skapa att belöningssystem baserat på kulturella mekanismer som leder till effektivare prestationer och en mer lönsam organisation.För att undersöka hur vi praktiskt kan gå tillväga för att skapa det system som leder oss fram till effektivare prestationer utförs en etnografisk fältstudie av företag Y mot bakgrund av de erfarenheter författaren har med sig från deltagande vid företag X.

It also aims to provide a picture revolving how men self-harm and what the direct effects are from their self-harm. The study describes their behaviour and how the behaviour has evolved over time. There is also a focus in the study to illustrate how society´s operative approach towards men makes their self-harm invisible, and make them an invisible population that neither the scientists nor the general population chooses to see. Self-injury is strongly associated with girls and their way of harming themselves.

The purpose of this study was, if possible, to find a housing system for growing bulls that was as optimal as possible for the animal welfare. In order to select housing systems you must take into account the size of the group, body weight and the type of floor. Seven of the international most common housing systems were compared, straw bedding, deep straw bedding, sliding straw bedding, concrete slatted floor, rubber coated slatted floor, cubicles and feeding cubicles. Studies that have examined the proportion of tail, claw and leg injuries and the presence of unnatural behavior in the different systems. In summary, all studies showed that soft underlay were beneficial for the animals in terms of the proportion of bone lesions and swellings.

Syftet med uppsatsen var att klarlägga om Högkvarterets arbetssätt och organisation medgeratt Försvarsmakten kan ledas i enlighet med sin ledningsfilosofi. Uppsatsen svarade påföljande huvudfrågeställning; Vilket mervärde ger det att använda olikaorganisationsteoretiska resonemang och perspektiv vid en studie av Försvarsmaktensledningsorganisation? Den Högkvartersorganisation som studerades var HKV 03, fokus lågpå central nivå och det var materialet Högkvarteret använde för att kommunicera sinledningsfilosofi, organisation och arbetssätt till övriga i organisationen som användes somkällor. Den teoretiska ramen utgjordes främsta av Bolman & Deals nya framgångsfaktoreroch Ashkenas fyra perspektiv att studera organisationer på. I uppsatsen användes en kvalitativmetod med en kombination av induktiv och deduktiv ansats och ett hermeneutisktförhållningssätt.

Very little has been written about this role, in Sweden as well as internationally. To fill this apparent gap, this study presents the results of inteviews with representatives of ten of Swedens´opera organisations, as well as three case studies.
