In the last few years there has been an ongoing debate concerning the methods of assessing the quality of public libraries and their services. This study investigates the Opinions and needs of the users at four different public libraries in Malm : the local libraries in Bellevueg rden, Limhamn, and Kirseberg, and the main library in central Malm . The purpose was to find out whether different user groups display different patterns in their library use and, in addition, to identify what library services they prefer. The data were collected through interviews with users and librarians, and by means of a user survey ccarried out at the four libraries. The results indicate that certain differences in the usage patterns do exist between the main library and the local libraries.

Citizens are in need of information to form an opinion about how society works. As a reviewer of the Public power the media plays an important role in a democratic society. The communicative power shift appears in contemporary media landscape, where technology offers great opportunities for actors to use their own channels to communicate their own image and thereby influencing power over the agenda. Alongside this, the number of communicators is increasing which makes power of resources affects the communicative whole picture. The study is based on a media profile case of the described assault and looks at what can happen strategic communicative at a police department when journalism offers a negative image.

Despite this some students with a foreign background have difficulties when it comes to homework?s. This is contrary to the goals that the government strives for, which is a more just society. The aim of this study is to analyze five elementary schoolteacher?s experiences and attitudes against the homework for students with two languages.

Denna uppsats söker förstå beslutsprocessen som resulterade i att Lunds och Frederiksbergs kommun fattade beslutet om att samarbeta. Beslutsprocessen resulterade i ett informellt samarbete, och söks förstås med hjälp av Cohen, March och Olsens Garbage Can-modell, och Kingdons window of opportuntity (möjlighetsfönster). Garbage Can-modellen består av fyra flöden, som innehåller beslutstillfällen, problem, lösningar och deltagare. Dessa flöden kan kopplas samman då möjlighetsfönster uppstår, vilket sker vid Opinions- eller känsloförändringar bland befolkning och politiker.Vi har kommit fram till att beslutsprocessen bör förstås som att lösningen informellt samarbete mellan Lund och Frederiksberg, kopplades till problem relaterade till att vilja vara en del av Öresundsregionen, och beslutstillfällen såsom Öresundskommittén. Deltagare drev lösningarna och identifierade problemen.

The purpose of this study is to investigate five teachers? Opinions on the work with individualization with focus on above-average pupils. I have issued four questions based on the purpose of this study: - How do these teachers define the theoretical concepts of individualization and above-average pupils? - How do the teachers reason about the concept of individualization with focus on the above-average pupils? - How do the teachers reason regarding the work with individualization in the Swedish language? - Do these teachers consider that there are difficulties to individualize the work so that it will challenge above-average pupils?The method used to conduct this study was a semi-structured qualitative interview with five teachers in primary school. The theory and the theoretical concepts this study is based on is: what defines the above- average pupils, the zone of proximal development, the concept of individualization and motivation and the importance of cognitive and non-cognitive abilities.The study shows that the theoretical concept of above-average pupils is hard to define and it shows a difference between how the teachers choose to define it.

The aim with this independent degree project of master thesis is to find what the user Opinions of the intranet in a county council is. The paper seeks how the question about how the culture in the organisation was affected by the use of the intranet. An important part is to explore the expectations and acceptance of the intranet and get a picture of which functions and services support day-to-day work with good quality. One goal is to find out how the intranet users feel that the communication, information and usability can be developed.The focus group interview is a qualitative method that has been applied for gathering data from the respondents, who participate in the investigation from the county council. The used method is unstructured focus groups containing the three dominating categories of staff in the county council.

The essay examines managers reflection after attending a leader development program. When examining their thoughts the author starts out from the assumption that leader development programs with reflecting elements can create reflection on management/leadership and the organisations management behaviour. The examination is done whit help of a case study on a company in the paint industry. To test the assumption the author uses a combination of questioners and interviews on eight managers who has finished a leader development program. The purpose of this thesis is to find out how much the legal uncertainties, and the different culture mentality in the workplace of another country act as barriers in the minds of the people who wish to work abroad.

Syftet med vårt arbete var att ta reda på tio skolledares uppfattningar om handledning som en metod att utveckla pedagogisk verksamhet mot en skola för alla. Skolledares syn på begreppet handledning samt på vilket sätt handledning som metod används som en del i utveckling av pedagogisk verksamhet, var en del av undersökningen. Intressant blev också att se vad skolledare menar att handledning innebär när avsikten med handledning är pedagogisk utveckling mot en skola för alla. För att få svar på våra frågeställningar samt få en djupare insikt i skolledares uppfattningar, valde vi att göra en kvalitativ studie med halvstrukturerade intervjuer som metod. Skolledarnas uppfattningar har presenterats under olika teman i resultatdelen.

The aim of this paper is exploring questions regarding the problem of absenteeism among high-school students in Sweden. Fifteen students attending an urban high-school have been interviewed about their views and experiences of absenteeism. The author analyzes the students? answers by taking into account two different sociological approaches which give two different explanations about the way young people experience and estimate education. The French sociologist Bourdieu theorized that differences in cultural capital influence the permanent internalization of patterns of thought and behavior.

AbstractThis essay consists of an analytical study of three present-day Swedish films depiction of teenage life. From these films we like to see how youths are described, what attributes they are given, in shape of attire and different symbolic items, such as language and body expressions. The essay emphasizes which values that dominates among the illustrated teenage groups and compares it to the values and expectations that we can derive from an adult society. Here we let the school?s main determining base documents, Lpo 94 and Lpf 94, represent the dominating values of the society.Our hypothesis is that media, and also these films, creates images that affects the societies comprehension of teenagers and also how teens see themselves.

A reform of higher education in Sweden in 1993 led to stiffer competitive climate among educational institutions. The reform meant that educational institutions now had the opportunity to plan their curriculum autonomously. Prior to the reform educational planning was restricted to the Swedish government. The new rules spelled a greater opportunity for educational institutions to profile themselves based on their educational offerings. The higher degree of competition means that marketing becomes increasingly important when recruiting new students.
