Bakgrund: Bukaortaaneurysm (AAA) har under de senaste tjugo åren blivit allt vanligare både när det gäller förekomst och diagnostisk upptäckt. Oftast är sjukdomen symtomfri och upptäcks ofta först när det rupturerar. AAA behandlas med antingen endovaskulär aortaaneurysm reparation (EVAR), öppen kirurgi av aorta (ÖA), farmakologiskt eller inte alls.Syfte: Syftet var att se hur mortaliteten och komplikationerna ser ut efter EVAR jämfört med ÖA och vilka olika kort- respektive långsiktiga för- och nackdelar som finns med de olika metoderna.Metod: Sökning av artiklar gjordes i databasen PubMed. Totalt valdes 10 artiklar ut som var baserade på 6 olika studier.Resultat: Majoriteten av dödsfallen som skedde inom 30 dagar hos ÖA-patienterna var aneurysmrelaterade och fler än inom EVAR. Efter 2-3 år syntes inte längre någon signifikant skillnad mellan de två patientgrupperna.

Today multi-touch technology is the basis for many new techniques designed to improve interactions with computers and mobile devices. It seems that multi-touch screen interface makes the user handling very natural in the sense that there is no need for a manual in how to interact with the object on the screen. The aim with this paper is to establish a fundamental set of design principles intended specifically for large multi-touch interfaces. To reach this goal we have implemented a couple of sub-goals beforehand: It was essential that we acquired a good understanding of the current state of the multi-touch interface and the different implementations that exist today. To make this possible we constructed a multi-touch display, "Rosie". Knowing how the hardware is produced today will help us understand the limitations and also the possibilities of the design implementations today and in the future. We also needed to devise a sound interaction design process that conveys the modern designers work.

The purpose of this essay is to describe the organization of the Swedish Animal WelfareAgency during the time it was in operation. The Swedish Animal Welfare Agency was established in 2005 by the government who saw it as necessary in order to strengthen the protection of cruelty to animals in Sweden. However, the agency was shut down already in2007 and its responsibilities as an agency was moved back to the government and the department of agriculture. During its time in operation, the Swedish Animal Welfare Agency, received much criticism, among other things because of its interpretations of the law which were seen as too focused on details and thus ?bureaucratic?.

Inriktningen på uppsatsen kommer att vara vilken nyttja och vilket behov svensk militär kan ha med helikoptern som verktyg i en militär operation.Ämnet belyses genom en analys av ett historiskt skeende där helikoptern för första gången fick påvisa sina styrkor och svagheter som verktyg i ett konfliktområde.Uppsatsen behandlar den delen av Vietnamkriget, då fokus från många nationer och inte minst närvaro av amerikansk militär var som störst (1965-75). Fokus på uppsatsen kommer att vara vilken effekt helikoptern bidrog med under operationerna i Vietnam kopplat mot krigets grundläggande förmågor. [1]Ämnet är intressant i förhållande till de planerade förändringarna i Försvarsmakten idag, då den luftburna förmågan kan komma att försvinna. Därför är det viktigt att belysa vad helikopterunderstöd kan göra för skillnad i en militär operation.Anledning till att uppsatsen kommer behandla Vietnamkriget är att striderna i Vietnam var de första striderna i betydande omfattning där en armékår nyttjade helikoptrar. Vietnamkriget är även väldokumenterat och ger ett bra underlag för denna typ av arbete.

The aim in this thesis is to use carbon, nitrogen and sulfur isotope analysis on teeth and bone to track diet and mobility of the population as well as the individual level from the articulated and disarticulated individuals from the passage grave Frälsegården, situated in Gökhem parish in the region of Falbygden, western Sweden.50 human samples were analyzed from tooth, mandibula and femur, together with 11 faunal samples from different bone elements of local wild and domestic animals.The results fall well in line with earlier stable isotope work done on passage grave individuals from Falbygden in stable isotopes: A homogenous group with a diet which was clearly terrestrial and lived on a pretty high trophic level. It also seems that the analyzed individuals deliberately focused their food intake to the cultural and natural, megalith and limestone landscape of Falbygden, and not to its surroundings, even if the passage grave is situated in the outermost areas of the region.A small study compares the sulfur results to with earlier work done on strontium isotopes. The results show that the different methods might provide a deeper understanding in the interpretation of the methods, and therefore suggesting that further work should be done to compare the methods..

 We have chosen to write our thesis within a transport company. The work was carried out at DHL activities in Uppsala. DHL is one of the leading transport companies worldwide. Our interest lies in more efficient and advanced transportation and terminals, as globalization and new trends require effective solutions.The aim of our work is to explain the need for information technology applications in road haulage and associated terminal operations. Furthermore, we analyses terminal and applied information technology.

Introduktion: Depression, ångest, stress och ätstörningsproblematik har visat sig ha en hög prevalens hos personer som lider av obesitas. Syfte: Att undersöka om och i så fall hur ångest och depression mätt i HADS förändras i en grupp som genomgått överviktskirurgi. Av intresse var också att undersöka om viktnedgång samt om preoperativa symtom på stress, hetsätning och känslomässigt ätande predicerar utfallet av symtom på ångest och depression postoperativt. Metod: 30 patienter som genomgått överviktskirurgi på Akademiska sjukhuset i Uppsala under våren 2011 inkluderades i studien. Dessa patienter hade innan genomgången operation och vid en uppföljning sex månader postoperativt besvarat olika screeningformulär avseende psykiskt välmående, ätstörningar och stress.

Att genomgå en operation innebär en stor fysisk och psykisk påfrestning för patienten. Att genomgå en operation och den efterföljande vistelsen på vårdavdelningen innebär att en individ tas ur sitt sammanhang och detta kan försvåra individens förmåga att uppleva hälsa. Under den postoperativa perioden finns flertalet faktorer som påverkar patienten antingen negativt eller positivt och innebär en direkt förändring i patientens livsvärld. Husserls livsvärldsteori innebär att en individs livsvärld är individuell och att den konstant påverkas av interna och externa faktorer.Syftet med denna uppsats var att beskriva patientens upplevelser av den postoperativa vistelsen på en vårdavdelning. Metoden som använts i denna uppsats var en systematisk litteraturstudie som baserades på tolv artiklar som kvalitetsgranskades och analyserades.Resultatet utgjordes av tre huvudkategorer; Patientens kroppsliga upplevelse under den postoperativa vistelsen på vårdavdelningen, patientens psykiska och emotionella upplevelse under den postoperativa vistelsen på vårdavdelningen samt postoperativa möten och  relationer på vårdavdelningen.

There are several methods avaliable to find areas of interest, but most fail at detecting such areas in cluttered scenes. In this paper two methods will be presented and tested in a qualitative perspective. The first is the darg operator, which is used to detect three dimensional convex or concave objects by calculating the derivative of the argument of the gradient in one direction of four rotated versions. The four versions are thereafter added together in their original orientation. A multi scale version is recommended to avoid the problem that the standard deviation of the Gaussians, combined with the derivatives, controls the scale of the object, which is detected.

Goal: To describe which evaluation method is used by Swedish retailers to assess a potential retail location and to describe to what extent the retail brand effects this strategic decision. Design: Analysis of ten interviews with companies within five retail sectors in Sweden. Main study: Indication of what methods are used to evaluate a location and how a company's retail brand affects the decision. Results: Retailers use a mix of theoretical methods to evaluate the location attributes and possible profit. Most common among mixtures was an application of the analog method, residual method or the checklist method in combination with a financial assessment.

Efficient logistics may be accomplished by improving the internal materials handling. In this thesis the internal material handling of steel frames has been studied at a factory in Vaggeryd. The goal of this study is to investigate the problems that exist with the current production flow of products and provide suggestions on how it can be developed to reduce unnecessary handling and movement.The study has a deductive approach where the authors has been using literature studies parallel with empirical analyzes conducted at a company to achieve the purpose of the study. Documentation from the company and interviews with staff and observations form the basis for the data collection carried out.

An electric bike is a convenient way oftransportation as well as a good way of avoiding traffic. With an electricbike you avoid having to sweat when biking over hills or when you need totravel over longer distances.The goal of this project is to develop a bike sharing station according tothe functions need to be met.This thesis Is based on Fredy Olsson´s methods principkonstruktion aswell as a couple of concept generating methods from Kenneth Österlin.From this, a number of sketches were made that later was evaluated inseveral steps in conjunction to a set of specifications.
