The problem with passive farmers has arised as an effect of the European Union´s common agricultural policy (CAP) and the decouplement from production-based payments. Payments to passive farmers contradict the purpose of the single payment scheme and constitute a great cost for the EU. The new contractual period after 2013 has given rise to discussions on the direction of the CAP with a purpose of increasing the efficiency of the single payment scheme, and reducing passive farming. The aim of the study is to increase the knowledge about a few factors? influence on passive farmers? attitudes towards land use and the CAP.

People are usually directed towards each other in conversations, to make it easier to hear what is being said. Algorithms for voice and speech recognition works in a similar way, regarding the microphone direction towards the sound source. In this thesis in electronics has therefore a servo control with binaural sound localization been implemented on a microcontroller connected to two microphones.When people perceive sound, the brain can estimate the sound source direction by comparing the time taken by the sound reaching one ear to the other [1]. The difference in time is called the interaural time difference, and can be calculated using various techniques. An exploratory comparison between the techniques cross-correlation and cross-spectrum analysis was carried out before implementation.

This thesis work has been performed at Volvo Aero Corporation in Trollhättan, at the department of ?hot structures? involving aircraft engine GP7000. The purpose with the study was to investigate the possibility to reduce size of the forging of flanges on the rear turbine frame when purchasing. Thereto examine the parameters that affect the flanges motion during the manufacturing process. The goal was to provide Volvo Aero with foundation to later bring in slimmed forgings.

Några av de stora sjöteoretiker som vi utbildas på idag var verksamma i en tid innan insatsförsvaret, men deras teorier anses fortfarande vara användbara idag. Idag genomför svenska flottan andra typer av insatser än på slutet av 1800-talet, då teoretikerna Mahan och Corbett var verksamma. Kriget ser inte likadant ut idag och både tekniken och taktiken har utvecklats. Är de teorier vi utbildas på, tillämpbara idag? Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka teorier om skydd av handelsfartyg och jämföra hur detta skydd genomförs i nutid med fokus på insatsen i Adenviken.

In order to achieve comparability, which is one of the fundamental principles of accounting, companies should be consistent concerning the accounting policies they use. Only under certain circumstances changes in accounting policies are allowed, and when there is a change in accounting policies, it is important that the change is reported in a way that assures that the financial reports still achieve comparability. The purpose of this thesis is to establish which rules and recommendations about changes in accounting policies that exist in Swedish and German law and what their meaning is. Further, the purpose is to compare these rules and recommendations and discuss their differences and similarities, advantages and disadvantages. Since publicly traded European companies will be obliged to prepare their consolidated accounts in conformity with International Accounting Standards (IAS) from 2005, I also describe the content of IAS 8 which deals with changes in accounting policies, and discuss what the consequences of this transition might be for Swedish and German publicly traded companies considering changes in accounting policies.

This Masters thesis aims at presenting a picture of, and critically examining, the Swedish debate concerning the public library and the future by way of 21 articles in three library periodicals. The questions examined are: -What are the views concerning the future public library in Swedish library press? -What characterizes the debate and why? Theories on political institutions and information society are used and the method is hermeneutic, a type of idea-analysis. The first step in the analysis consists of a categorized presentation of the material. The themes concern the form and content of the library as well as competence and hopes/fears.

This thesis aims to study brand change, which can be of interest since a brand during its lifetime can be expected to meet a lifecycle consisting of five phases; innovation, introduction, growth, maturity and recession. In order to avoid the recession phase and the sales decline that follows there is a need for a change of the brand.In order to study brand change, theoretical framework is compared to two real world cases that have gone through an active change.The conceptions of positioning, repositioning and revitalization are clarified. Positioning deals with how brands are located in customer?s minds as well as on the real market. Repositioning implies a change of the current position and is also often a move towards a new market segment.

Sedan helikopterns introduktion har den använts på en olika sätt i många olika militäroperationer. Dess unika egenskaper gör den till en bra vapenplattform. Trots detta har dess roller inom modern krigföring aldrig riktigt definierats. Studien syftar till att ta reda på vilka roller helikoptern kan ha inom manöverkrigföring. Detta görs genom att analysera manöverkrigföringens utmärkande drag mot helikopterns utmärkande drag.

Vårdrelaterade infektioner är ett problem som kan innebära ett stort lidande för patienten och ökade kostnader för vården. Inom operationssjukvården finns riktlinjer som styr hur personalen ska agera på ett patientsäkert vis. Operationssjuksköterskan ska upprätthålla hygieniska och aseptiska principer för att förebygga vårdrelaterade infektioner och komplikationer. En riktlinje beskriver hur dörröppningarna in till operationssalen ska minimeras. Observationsstudien undersökte om operationspersonal följde riktlinjen.Resultatet visade att personalen öppnade dörrarna oftare än vad som kan anses vara nödvändigt.

Introduktion:Inför en kirurgisk operation spelar den preoperativa informationen till patienten en mycket viktig roll för att patienten skall känna sig trygg i en annars maktlös situation. Detta lägger stort ansvar på den person som genomför det preoperativa samtalet.Syfte:Syftet med detta kvalitetssäkringsarbete var att beskriva patienters upplevelser av den perioperativa processen samt upplevelser av den preoperativt givna informationen.Metod:Arbetet har en kvalitativ ansats där åtta patienter som opererats med colorektal kirurgi vid kirurgisk klinik ingick. Semistrukturerade intervjuer gjordes där alla intervjuer spelades in och transkriberades ordagrant. Insamlad data analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys.Resultat:Analysen resulterade i fyra kategorier och nio subkategorier. Dessa redovisas dels i en tabell samt i en berättande text med citat från intervjuerna.

Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen var att studera förekomst av postoperativt illamående (dag 0-3) hos patienter som genomgått en ortopedisk operation i narkos. Syftet var också att studera om kända riskfaktorer och typ av anestesiform kan relateras till uppkomsten av postoperativt illamående (dag 0-3).Metod: Studiens design var en prospektiv kvantitativ icke experimentell studie. Data samlades in genom en enkätundersökning bland ortopedpatienter som opererats under narkos och som uppfyllde inklusionskriterierna. Antalet svarande var 18 av 34 tillfrågade. Resultatet analyserades och sammanställdes deskriptivt i statistikprogrammet SPSS.Resultat: Resultatet visar att alla patienter som deltog i studien sövdes med en kombination av inhalationsanestesi och intravenös anestesi.

Bakgrund: Bristfällig postoperativ smärtlindring är ett stort problem på många vårdavdelningar. Patienter fortsätter att uppleva obehag och smärta efter operation trots att utvecklingen i postoperativ smärtbehandling har gått framåt. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa patienters upplevelser vid postoperativ smärta. Metod: Litteraturstudien byggde på sju artiklar, alla med kvalitativ forskningsansats. Studierna granskades och analyserades efter Malteruds (1998) analysprocess, med avsikt att komma fram till olika teman.

Changes in the environment are affecting the world market, and pressures from several stakeholders? are forcing different enterprises to adjust to the current situation. Farmers? difficult working conditions and environmental impacts of the conventional cotton production in India have been highlighted. The small-scale production that is characterising India?s cotton farmers implies an insufficient competition power.

Global climate change is one of the greatest challenges in our history. As the average temperature is rising due to anthropogenic emissions, impacts such as floods, droughts and hurricanes, affect the lives of millions of people. Though the least developed countries are least responsible for emissions, they are the worst affected. This thesis focuses on environmental justice in the adaptation discourse. By outlining the adaptation discourse from the United Framework Convention on Climate Change principles, to the Marrakesh Accords, via the Kyotoprotocol my ambition is to analyse how environmental justice has been interpreted in relation to the adaptation discourse.
