Lameness causes suffering and poor performance in sheep, as in other species. The cause of lameness often originates in problems of the claws. Many claw diseases of sheep are described in British and Australian research, but this field has previously not been of special concern in Sweden. This graduate thesis contains the first claw health survey made on Swedish sheep. The chief objective was to give an overview of sheep claw diseases and to assess claw health in adult sheep.

Myxomatous mitral valve disease is a common disease in older dogs of small- to medium-size breeds. The mitral valve, and less commonly the tricuspid valve may be affected which causes them to leak blood from the ventricle to the atrium of the heart during systole. With increasing severity of mitral valve leakage the forward stroke volume ejected into the aorta decreases, which may lead to an increase in blood pressure in the pulmonary vein resulting in pulmonary edema. A decrease in cardiac output may lead to a decrease in blood pressure, but the body may respond in order to normalize the blood pressure. Franzén showed in 2007 that the systolic blood pressure was increased in dogs with severe mitral insufficiency.

Since SaabDynamics engineers have little experience of simulation, required a usermethodology with clear guidelines. Due to lack of time, they chose to assign thetask to students, which resulted in this thesis.The aim of the thesis is to develop a methodology in mechanical design, wherethe designer uses the FE analysis early in the design process to develop thestructures' mechanical properties.

I am in this paper dealing with these issues, how and what lead up to these changes, the peoples own part in the development, and I am also looking into the fact that these changes might not have meant an end of old ideologies, but rather a development in the expression of beliefs where the monuments of the neolithic no longer had a place in society..

Kvinnans kroppsuppfattning förändras efter behandlingen eftersom det finns både ett ärr kvar i själen och på kroppen som alltid påminner om diagnosen bröstcancer.De kvinnor som genomgår en mastektomi har en möjlighet till en plastikkirurgisk bröstrekonstruktion. Tidigare forskning visar att en bröstrekonstruktion kan hjälpa dessa kvinnor att få ett ökad självförtroende och välbefinnande. Sjuksköterskor har ett ansvar att uppmärksamma patientens behov efter en bröstrekonstruktion och har en viktig roll genom att stödja, informera och öka deras livskvalitet vid återhämtningsprocessen efter operation.

Lean was developed in Japan as a business philosophy in order to lead to an activity, where only steps that contribute to customer value of the final product are being performed. By defining the customer value and establish visualized standards, it is possible to see when situations differ from the standard. Then it?s possible to lead the process back on track.

Ventrikulära takyarytmier är den vanligaste typen av rytmrubbningar hos hundar. Ventrikulära extraslag (VES), när depolarisationen utgår från kammaren, är den mildaste formen. Flera VES på rad med en hög hjärtrytm kallas ventrikulär takykardi (VT) och kan utvecklas till livshotande kammarflimmer (VF) då inget blod pumpas ut i kroppen. Arytmier upptäcks normalt vid en klinisk undersökning med auskultation följt av elektrokardiografi (EKG). Dessa korta tre-minuters avläsningar kan identifiera en arytmi om den är vanligt förekommande. Allt vanligare blir användningen av 24-timmars ambulatorisk elektrokardiografi (AEKG) som läser av hjärtrytmen under ett helt dygn. AEKG är mycket användbar för att upptäcka oregelbundna arytmier.

Kustbevakaren har i dag ett flertal befogenheter men saknar bland annat befogenheter när det gäller ordningsstörning och brottsbalksbrott, det är här samverkan är speciellt viktig. I det här fördjupningsarbetet tittar jag närmare på hur samverkan mellan polis och kustbevakning fungerar samt kommer med förslag på hur samverkan kan förbättras. Fördjupningsarbetet bygger främst på interjuver från polis och kustbevakning.

Drinking water is produced from raw water and is either from groundwater or surface water. This thesis aims to find out if the cleaning process of raw water is sufficiently effective. This is important because consumers are otherwise at risk of waterborne infection caused by pathogens. There are three groups of pathogens; bacteria, virus and parasite. These have different characteristics which mean that they require different water treatment to be separated.

The number of residential fires has not declined sufficiently since the smoke alarm entranced the Swedish homes, fires lead to devastating consequences in which possessions, homes and worst of all human lives are at stake. Every year, about 80 people get killed and more than 500 get´s injured in residential fires, often due to lack of safety equipment. The number of fires caused by electrical appliances has risen and taken over a period of ten years the fire caused by a forgotten stove has increased by 70 percent. Preventing the risk that a fire would start on the stove would saves money, worry and most importantly, lives..
