In this essay I have summarized important factors for an effective, but also successful, way to raise and house heifers. This study can be used for other dairy farms to use as guidelines in their process to raise heifers. To let outside heifer growers house, feed and have the heifers pregnant before return, can save a lot of work. But also moneywise, when the care and individual programs makes them strong and increases the growth.The result is a faster breeding and an earlier time for their first calving.In Sweden the heifers tend to be older if you compare with Denmark or United States where the custom heifer raising is well known and growing. One reason can be the Swedish laws regarding outside grassing for all cows during the summer months.

The aim of this essay is to examine the attitudes towards publication of short stories, carried by the employees of Bokförlaget Forum, a randomly chosen Swedish publishing house. The study seeks to investigate the causes behind and consequences of the attitudes, as well as their generality. Through qualitative interviews, carried out with five of the company?s employees, the short story is defined as a problematic genre, mainly due to its low commercial success. The conclusions drawn from the interviews are put into a historical perspective, where the developments of the short story-genre, as well as that of the modern Swedish book market, are discussed.

Det här är en studie i om bilder i dataspel kan förändra uppfattningen om antalet ljudsekvenser som spelas upp. Faktorerna som har ändrats i varje test är förhållandena mellan antalet ljudsekvenser och antalet bildobjekt som presenteras. Flera olika ljud skapades till undersökningen, som skiljde sig i karaktär i syfte av att ge mer nyanserade resultat. 20 personer gjorde test där de fick lyssna på ljud med och utan koppling till bilder. De blev sedan tillfrågade hur många ljudkällor de kunde höra.

Den analytiska och teoretiska delen av arbetet presenterar begreppet intersektionalitet och undersöker humoristisk gestaltning av musikdramatik utifrån detta synsätt. Studien undersöker vilka normer och maktordningar som visar sig genom den humoristiska gestaltningen och ställer frågor runt varför dessa uppstår och hur man skulle kunna förändra detta. Det konstnärliga processarbetet och den sceniska presentationen redogör för hur jag utforskat mina egna fördomar om mig själv och det fält som jag befinner mig inom som musikdramatisk scenkonstnär och student i musikdramatik. Här presenteras metoder jag använt mig av vokalt, textuellt, dramatiskt, musikaliskt, fysiskt, mentalt och pedagogiskt för att expandera mitt fält som musikdramatisk scenkonstnär..

This is the project of making a stage design for Batboy ? the musical, a cooporation with a network of musical artists. The aim of the project was to create a space on stage that strengthens and expands the experience of the story told, and find design solutions that give an extra dimension to the story. The prerequisites for my work were partly defined from the produc¬tion, as were my limitations. In the cast of ten artists some were to play more than one role, often one of the opposite sex.

This thesis is a case study that examines what political decisions have been taken and how these policies have been implemented. Further this thesis discusses how legitimacy of local policy makers and implementors is affected. The subject studied have been the social service of Jönköping municipality and the intervention of safe-housing aimed at women who have been, or are subject to violence by person close to them. In our study we have examined local policy within the territory of the intervention and how this policy is implemented. A qualitative method with semi-structured interviews was used in combination with quantitative methods to examine protocols from the social welfare board and an action program named "Skydd och stöd för misshandlade kvinnor och deras barn? [Protection and support for abused women and their children].The purpose of this study has been to highlight how the social services implemented the local policy of safe-house accommodation in Jönköping municipality from the legitimacy and discretion perspectives.

Studien belyser tvåspråkiga barns språkutveckling och lärande. Resultatet presenteras utifrån sex kvalitativa intervjuer av personal verksamma inom förskolan. Intervjuerna beskriver pedagogernas resonemang gällande tvåspråkighet hos barn samt vilka metoder de använder sig av för att stimulera och stödja tvåspråkiga barns språkutveckling och lärande. Resultaten av undersökningen visar att förskollärarna aktivt arbetar med tvåspråkiga barns språkutveckling och lärande. Förskollärarna lyfter upp modersmålets betydelse och anser att det är viktigt att barnen lär sig sitt första språk, då det är grunden för inlärning av andra språk.

The aim: was to describe and compare a group of experts and critical care nurses' agreement in detecting delirium in intubated, ventilator treated patients with sedation / analgesia, before and after an in house training intervention with the instrument Confusion Assessment Method for the Intensive Care Unit (CAM-ICU).Method: A quasi-experimental study, one group pretest - posttest design. A convenience sample of 17 critical care nurses in a general intensive care unit included. To detect delirium the instrument CAM-ICU was used, 21 paired tests before and 22 after an educational intervention.Main Results: The results showed that after an in house training intervention sensitivity and kappa coefficient improved of the characteristic 1 "acute onset and fluctuating course," an improvement that was significant. In other features, and overall values were signs of numerical improvement and deterioration in sensitivity, specificity and kappa coefficient but no significant change.Conclusion: Implementing a new instrument for detecting delirium in clinical practice requires education and follow-up. A small sample of critical care nurses with varying ability to use the new instrument and the fact that patients' status may change rapidly making it difficult to draw any conclusions from this study.

1 januari, 2004 infördes den nya revisionsstandarden (RS) som är en översättning av ISA, med hänsyn tagen till svensk lagstiftning. RS innebär flertalet nyheter vid genomförandet av revision. Bland annat har revisorns roll förändrats genom att revisorn numera skall granska och uttala sig om fler förhållanden än tidigare.Syftet med denna uppsats är att redogöra för revisorers och företagares syn på införandet av revisionsstandarden. Detta görs i form av en fallstudie med koncentration på tre utvalda RS (RS 402, 501, 570). Öhrlings Price Water House Coopers är representant för revisionsperspektivet och Vattenfall samt E.ON är representanter för företagsperspektivet.

Mitt magistersarbete ?Mini House? är ett projekt som omfattar undersökning, formgivning, utveckling och paketering av en samtida svensk stuga inom kontexten för den svenska Plan- och bygglagen. Jag har gett projektet en engelsk titel då jag vill att det ska kunna ha relevans och ett potentiellt liv utanför den primära svenska kontexten.De s.k. Friggebodsreglerna tillåter en markägare att bygglovsfritt uppföra ytterligare en stuga på maximalt tio kvadratmeter på bebyggd tomt. Ett förslag att utöka den tillåtna ytan till femton kvadratmeter har lagts fram och skall fastslås i början av år 2008.En marknad för ?friggebodar? skapades snabbt efter att Friggebodsreglerna introducerades 1987, vilken inte har förändrats märkbart under dessa 20 år vad gäller byggmaterial, huskvalitet eller utseende och känsla.

The aim of this thesis is to examine interactivity in the context of performance-based interactive art. The questions asked are: what are the conditions of interactivity, how interactivity happens, and what artistic results it may yield. The method is an analysis based on close studies of three performance-based interactive artworks by applying theories of interactivity, audience participation, and collaboration.First, current theories are outlined, after which, the three artworks are introduced in detail. Next, the artworks are examined, thematically rather than individually, expanding on parameters such as the degree of artistic direction of the artwork, the degree of agency allowed to the spectator in their interaction with the work, and the idea of the ?passive? spectator as being ?activated? by interactive art.

During Spring semester 2011, Linda Engstrom and Malin Heder performed ?Golden Ratio?, a thesis which included 22.5 hp. The thesis followed the syllabus for the Degree Project for degree of Bachelor of Science in Innovation and Design Engineering (MSGC12) which was a unit in the Innovation and Design Engineering program within the Faculty of Technology and Science at Karlstad University.The client was Crem International AB, a company located in Åmotfors that develops the design, manufactures and markets coffee machines. The supervisor at the company has been Peter Larsson and supervisor at Karlstad University has been Monica Jakobsson. Examiner for the thesis has been Professor Fredrik Thuvander at the Faculty of Technology and Science at Karlstad University.Crem International AB controls a patent, representing a new technology to streamline and minimize use of energy during the coffee preparation and results in a good coffee quality.

Improved wireless datacommunication with the forest machines might be the next big step in the logging process. The use for wireless communicationsystems within the forestry is among other things to report the production from the forest machines, to supply the machine opera-tors with the right information and for safety. CDMA2000/ 450 is a third generation mobilecommunicationsystem which could replace the old NMT- 450 and for comparatively low costs. The reason for the low costs is that you only have to use the old NMT- 450 masts and supply them with new equipment. In the test of CDMA2000/450, that has taken place in northern Uppland, two kind of files have been sent.

I detta examensarbete har jag tillsammans med min kollega Markus Eriksson spelat in sju musikstycken med tydligt bera?ttande funktion. Dessa sju musikstycken fungerar som filmmusik till fyra olika historier som utspelar sig i ett la?genhetshus, ett introstycke som sammanfattar hela den musikaliska ide?n, ett stycke som gestaltar gatan samt ett stycke som beskriver ka?nslan i trapphuset. Materialet utgo?r en del av min portfolio och fo?rhoppningsvis kommer detta projekt o?ka mina mo?jligheter att fa? skriva musik till ro?rlig bild i framtiden.
