Stockholm is considered as a tourist destination which has a lot of offers to attract tourists and if it utilizes it water better it can give a wonderful and unique experiences and cold baths may become an image to it.The aim of this study is to shed light on the Open-air swimming-baths and shores of Stockholm. Also how to use this advantage as it?s a city based on many islands, the purest water in Europe and this makes Stockholm as a destination a very attractive place for tourism. For a better understanding of our study, we have studied the quality and quantity to see how people began to exploit Open-air swimming-baths throughout history everywhere in Europe and specifically of Stockholm city sea shore. We did a study on the history traditions of Open-air swimming-baths and how it can be a tourist attraction through books and interviews, scientific articles and our personal observation, so that we can analyze how to develop sustainable tourism in the future and how Stockholm city can make development of opportunities for the future.

External Thoughts is a studio based project with its purpose to throughworkshops establish contacts and create a dialouge about the content of contemporarygraphic design. The project also aims to apply a design curaticalmethod where the designer is both client and contractor, client and designer.We also wanted to investigate the design content as Open-source and examinethe school versus the Internet?s future role in the design and for thedesigner. I det här examensarbetet redogörs om det är möjligt att göra en animerad kortfilm helt själv under begränsad tidsram och begränsade förutsättningar. Jämförelser mellan kommersiell programvara och Open-source kommer att göras, där programmen jämförs som helhet och i sina individuella funktioner.

This Master's thesis aims at pinpointing the political arguments that appear in the recent debate on scientific publication. There is a widely spread opinion that prices on digital resources are far too high, thus taking up a major part of the University libraries budget, while publishing companies make high profits. It is also a common opinion that the current publishing method does not take full advantage of the possibilities of electronic publishing. Lately a number of alternative ways of publishing have been initiated and discussed, generally referred to as Open access. Open access published material is available free of charge and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions on the public internet.In this thesis the minutes from four hearings held by the UK House of Commons in the spring of 2004 are examined.

Med denna uppsats vill vi ge läsaren en uppfattning om vad Free Software och OpenSource (FOSS) handlar om och mer specifikt analyseras huruvida FOSS kan fungera ien kapitalistisk värld eller inte. Den grundläggande idén med Free Software ochOpen Source, eller fri programvara och öppen källkod, är att ge varje användare avett datorprogram rätten att fritt köra, undersöka, ändra och vidaredistribueraprogrammet.Författarna ställer i uppsatsen frågan ?Hur kan pengar tjänas på FOSS?. Uppsatsensyftar till att försöka bena ut denna frågeställning. Frågeställningen ger upphov till tvåperspektiv; dels i meningen ?på vilka sätt kan man tjäna pengar på FOSS? och dels ibetydelsen ?hur kommer det sig att det går att tjäna pengar på FOSS då det är gratis?.Uppsatsen knyter an till litteratur kring FOSS samt ekonomisk teori och är främstteoretisk till sin natur.I uppsatsen visas att gamla beprövade affärsmodeller inte kan användas rakt av förföretag som använder eller utvecklar produkter baserade på Open Source.

Most of the saw and pulp industries have stored wood nearby their production, the main reason is to have a continuous wood flow to the production. Wet storage of wood is of great importance to keep the wood quality. Without water sprinkling the risk of drying outand decomposition through biological activity increases significantly and will result in a negative effect on future production and quality. One drawback of wet storage of wood is the leaching of chemical substances into the surrounding recipient. The log yard run-off contains phosphorus, nitrogen, phenols and organic substances. These substances can cause problems for the surrounding environment. The main objective of this project is to gain an understanding of the wet storage used by the Swedish wood industry and estimate the environmental consequences that run-off water will have on the recipient.

Denna rapport jämför ett kommersiellt site survey-verktyg med ett Open sourcealternativ.En site survey är processen att planera och implementera ett trådlöstnätverk. Det är viktigt för att undvika problem med täckning, störningar samtplacering och konfigurering av accesspunkter.För att göra jämförelsen har en metod utvecklats för att jämföra site survey-verktyg. Metoden tar upp och jämför olika kriterier i form av verktygens förmåga att hantera signalstyrka, störningar, quality of service, manuella site surveys, virtuella site surveys, dokumentering av resultat samt verktygens förmåga att underlätta vid placering och konfigurering av accesspunkter. Förutom detta tas även mjukvarornas gränssnitt och användarvänlighet upp. Metoden skulle dock kunna utökas ytterligare för att innefatta t ex säkerhet, inlärningstid och support, för att på så sätt bidra till en bättre jämförelse.De verktyg som har jämförts är Open source-mjukvaran Kismet och den kommersiella mjukvaran InterpretAir.InterpretAir har visat sig ha en bättre funktionalitet på alla punkter och anses därför vara den mest lämpliga mjukvaran vid en site survey.

For centuries Islam and Muslims have been subject to islamophobic attitudes in the west. The purpose with this study was to see into the making of Open and closed attitudes against Islam and Muslims from a conflict in southern Thailand, and also to so see if Muslims are portrayed as more violent than the Buddhist groups in the conflict. The aim of the study is also to see if Muslims fall into a violent stereotype. This was studied by looking at five Swedish newspapers coverage of the conflict, during a given time. To be able to look into this, two theories will be used, the first one is the Runnymede Trust theory, which is about Open and closed attitudes against Islam and Muslims.

Klättring är en växande sport som kräver jämn balans av styrka, teknik och psyke. Då dessa lister tas används en greppteknik somkallas för crimpteknik. Det går att hålla i listen i denna teknik med tre olika positioner, closedcrimp, Open crimp och Open hand.Syftet med denna studie är att kartlägga skillnader mellan olika test av prestationsförmåga ochcrimputhållighet, undersöka vilken crimpposition som går att hänga längst i samt utforskakorrelationen hängtid i crimp med styrkeövningar.Tjugotvå manliga klättrare rekryterades och indelades efter inrapporterat personbästa i tregrupper (elit, avancerad och normal).

"Speak up! I can?t hear you"This qualitative study is built on an investigation of a newly instated model that is used when building or renovating schools. The principles of the model are based on building schools with an Open plan design where the walls are made of glass and the classrooms are not shut closed by walls, instead the classrooms are completely Open except from screens that are used to indicate the ambit of the rooms. This model has been well debated and that is the reason why we chose to do this study.The purpose of this study is to find out how students and teachers experience this model. To do this we have done interviews and observations.

The review of Integrated green spaces in urban areas ? A case study of inner Brisbane highlight the significance of addressing characteristics, qualities and landscape values in our outdoor environment. The importance of green spaces to the wellbeing of people in the city and the ecological, social and cultural values they carry are widely recognised in the field of urban and regional planning. At the same time population growth, climate change and urban development put planners and scientists in a challenging position where new solutions must be put on the agenda in order to accomplish sustainability. Open space strategies, collaboration between stakeholders, public participation, learn from earlier failings and a ?value-led? approach facilitate the managing of Open space. Brisbane is located in the fastest growing metropolitan region in Australia. The city´s Open space landscapes offer cultural, geographical, recreational, social and scenic amenity assets, which make a major contribution to the regions identity they a wide world known for.

This qualitative study investigates the conditions on the labour market for disabled people by examining which factors and processes contribute to disabled peoples inclusion to, or exclusion from the Open labour market. Stigmatisation is also used as an analytical tool to better understand the exclusion of disabled people from the Open labour market. The material to this study is drawn from qualitative interviews with the employees of the Swedish Employment Agency which specialises in supporting disabled people to find employment.  In conclusion, disabled people face several barriers which makes them more susceptible to become excluded from the Open labour market. Such excluding barriers include a demand for high efficiency and productivity from employers, bigger cooperation?s and public organisations unwillingness to employ disabled people and prejudices from employers, especially against people with psychiatric disabilities. The employees of the Swedish Employment Agency suggest that they would be able to work more efficiently to help disabled people find employment if they had to do less administrative work, and would be able to work with fewer clients per employee.

The ambition to involve younger people in future planning processes in order to get full participation of all groups in the society requires a deep and well-planned dialogue. Although, participation not always means inclusion. The purpose of this study was to analyze how the younger generation in the society is included in the future work. This is based on a case study of the developmental work in the municipality of Skellefteå.Questions that were answered were how the municipality has made the participation possible? To what extent has the younger generation been involved? How did this group experience their participation? The methodology consisted of mixed methods that include observations, surveys to the session leaders and to the participants in the dialogue and three interviews with two participants and one municipal civil servant.The result showed that the Open information didn´t reach the younger generation to the Open dialogues although the dialogue design gave good conditions for participation.

This is a report written for an examination project C-level, on the subject of energy. The examination project is a product of the FVB Sweden AB (district heating bureau). It started with a meeting with Stefan Jonsson FVB Sweden AB, were he explained the content of the project, and from this a presentation of the problem was made. The problem that needed to be solved was how they could control the valves in the system to provide heating to everyone in the system. The valves are often oversized so the pump in the heating plant would have to be enormous to be able to provide enough flow to be sufficient, if everyone in the system had there valves fully Opened. I came up with two solutions to the problem, one was a wireless network that could keep track of the valves and the other solution was an extra sensor that was placed on the radiator.

This thesis is about a potential trade-off between integrity and long-term usability in the choice of file formats for preservation of text documents. Five common formats are discussed: plain text, PDF/A, Office Open XML Document, Open Document Text, and Markdown. The formats are compared with respect to four criteria related to integrity and usability and to the records continuum model: support by widely used software, stability, rendering of contents and reusability.It is concluded that no single format is optimal with respect to all four criteria, when it comes to preserving typical documents in a modern environment, with more or less complex formatting and document structure. Therefore, the feasiblity of using two or more formats for preservation of a single document (e.g. PDF/A combined with Markdown and/or Office Open XML) is discussed.
