MyMusic ? e-shop för musik i Flash
This is the end report of my final exam at Medieteknik. It covers the planning, work process and review of a Flash based web application that I set out to do. The goal was to create a user friendly, interactive e-shop with embedded functionality for playing music, displaying rich media content and researching possible payment solutions, to enable buying music files online. The project involved creating the user interface, the programmatic functionality of a Flash client (an SWF file). Also, setting up an Apache HTTP Server and establishing a working ?bridge? between the Flash client and the web server with Flash Remoting components and AMFPHP.

The main aim of this master thesis was to see the process of an interactive online reference service from idea to final product. The reference service we have studied is developed and used by the Library of the National Institute for Working Life in Stockholm, Sweden and goes by the name phibi. Our goal was to review the whole realization process from the reasons why a service like this was created, how the service was introduced and implemented inside the organisation and finally what the result and consequences were for both the library staff and for the users of the service. Phibi is designed to be a tool that fosters communication between the library staff and the remote users where the users get the opportunity to be helped with their questions by the library staff although they are not physically present in the library. To understand the process we conducted a case study with 11 interviews of the library staff, the superior and the initiator to phibi.

Från att en nyhet inkommer till en webbredaktion till dess att den publiceras på nätet är en process som idag inte behöver ta mer än tio minuter. Under dessa tio minuter hinner en nätjournalist både att granska källan, kontakta eventuella vittnen, skriva nyheten och sedan publicera den.
Online-communities : hur ser communityanvändare på mIRC?
The ability to tackle NP-hard problems has been greatly extended by the introduction of Metaheuristics (see Blum & Roli (2003)) for a summary of most Metaheuristics, general problem-independent optimisation algorithms extending the hill-climbing local search approach to escape local minima. One of these algorithms is Iterated Local Search (ILS) (Lourenco et al., 2002; Stützle, 1999a, p. 25ff), a recent easy to implement but powerful algorithm with results comparable or superior to other state-of-the-art methods for many combinatorial optimisation problems, among them the Traveling Salesman (TSP) and Quadratic Assignment Problem (QAP). ILS iteratively samples local minima by modifying the current local minimum and restartinga local search porcedure on this modified solution. This thesis will show how ILS can be implemented for MSA.

This thesis will describe the redesign of the manure fork SverigeGrepen. The productis available for purchase in Scandinavia and and parts of the rest of Europe.The product is available in stores but the companys goal is to start distribute it overthe internet. A problem today with a purchase over the internet is that the costumerhas to pay a high shipping-fee due to the products unique form. The long handlecontributes to the high shipping-fee which makes it hard to attract costumers topurchase the product online. Deficiencies have been found at the manure forks basketand needs to be examined.
Riskhantering med spannmål : terminshandel som instrument
De senaste årens stora prissvängningar har gjort lantbrukets intäkter mycket varierande.
För att kunna säkra intäkterna och kunna planera kommande års inköp krävs någon form
av prissäkring. Arbetet behandlar en av dem, terminshandel på börs. Målet med arbetet
är att det om möjligt ska inspirera fler att prissäkra sina producerade varor och därmed
få en tryggare ekonomi. Syftet är att se hur terminshandeln mellan lantbrukare och
handelspartnerkan utvecklas sett ur lantbrukarens perspektiv.
Information till litteraturstudien kommer från aktuella hemsidor, insatta personer inom
bank och spannmålshandel, samt seminarium om terminshandel och prissäkring.
Del 1 innefattar en litteraturstudie som behandlar de begrepp och möjligheter som finns
inom terminshandel, samt de risker som kan uppstå vid eventuell prissäkring.
Del 2 är resultat från intervjuer. De intervjuade är lantbrukare som alla har genomfört
terminshandel på börsen.

Social media has today reached a level of maturity similar to the Internet in the beginning of the millennium. More and more people get involved both on a private and professional level and companies are starting to realize the need to keep up with the new online behavior of its target groups. The Investor Relations(IR) function has for a very long time been carried out by writing reports and press releases, but maybe as times change so will the tools needed to communicate the IR-issues for the companies? The purpose of this paper was to examine the views on and involvement in social media for IR-purposes at the four main banks in Sweden: Nordea, SEB, Handelsbanken and Swedbank. The study was carried out in the form of a qualitative case study in which the banks were analyzed separately with the help of Davids and Venkateshs TAM2-model(2000) and also analyzed against one another.
En usabilityutvärdering av Umeå Universitetsbiblioteks OPAC
This is a heuristic evaluation of Umeå university library?s Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC). It makes use of four of Nielsen?s ten heuristics, flexibility and efficiency to use, match between the system and real world, visibility of system status, and aesthetic and minimalist design. The evaluation was done by having 3 evaluators inspect the interface individually, as per Nielsen?s (1990) recommendation of 3-5 evaluators.

E-books influence the development of organizational, economic, legal and political perspectives. At the University Library in Gävle work is ongoing. The process is controlled by the acquisition policy which makes it clear that e-books should be purchased if possible.

SyfteSyftet med denna studie har varit att undersöka vilka delar av upplevelsen som konsumenten får i en fysisk single brandbutik som bör efterliknas och lyftas in i samma företags digitala butik. Det har även varit att se hur väl företag förmedlar sina kärnvärden till sina konsumenter i den fysiska butiken. Slutligen har det undersökts vad som är viktigt när det kommer till egenskaper, funktioner och upplevelsen generellt för konsumenter när de handlar online.ProblemformuleringVad som gör denna studie speciellt intressant är att de single brandföretag jag har undersökt bedriver egen fysisk samt digital butik där de säljer sina produkter, men de har även återförsäljare som säljer samma produkter och blir på så sätt deras konkurrenter. Eftersom dessa single brandföretag har ett varumärke och kärnvärden som de måste leva upp till kan de inte sänka priserna på sina produkter på samma sätt som deras återförsäljare kan. Skulle då lösningen kunna vara att försöka lyfta in upplevelsen konsumenterna får i den fysiska butiken in i den digitala butiken för att förmedla en bra varumärkesupplevelse?SlutsatsDenna studie grundade sig på en modell som beskriver hur en bra användarupplevelse kan skapas.
Community Gardens i USA : en studie av rörelsens uppkomst, funktioner och effekter samt en jämförelse med liknande fenomen i Sverige
This paper originates in a study of Community Gardens in the United States. An overview of how and why the gardens have emerged, their functions today, and their effects and problems is presented. The reader will also be introduced to a selection of Swedish movements that correspond with the phenomenon of the American Community Garden. These are as follows; The Allotment Garden, the Swedish term Stadsdelsträdgård (a metaphor for a Community Garden in a Swedish urban context), Mykorrhiza Malmö Stadsodlare and The Allotment Plot. None of the above-mentioned Swedish movements can be described as an exact equivalent of the American Community Garden, but they all contain elements witch constitutes parts of the phenomenon.

In the new media society, social media has become an important part of many organizations' daily lives. Organizations, whether public or private, must be where their audience is and many times, these can be found on social media channels like Facebook. Leading researchers in the fields of crisis communication and relationship management believe that social media is a great tool for managing relationships between an organization and its' public, whether it's before, during or after a crisis.The purpose of this study is to examine how the Karlstad municipality use Facebook to manage civic relations before, during and after a crisis. The municipality's approach will be compared to the citizens' experiences of the municipality's communication in different stages of a crisis.The theoretical framework used in this essay is the research on crisis communication and relationship management. How these two frameworks can be integrated with social media like Facebook, is an important part of understanding how the Karlstad municipality make use of Facebook to manage civic relations and communicate before, during and after a crisis.The empirical study consists of a qualitative interview, two qualitative content analysis and an online survey.

Därefter följer en redogörelse för hur den här studien genomfördes i verkligheten, som också är nästa punkt. Det hela avslutas med tolkningen av insamlat empiriskt material följt av ett slutgiltigt svar på använda påståenden och problemfrågor.Studien har två mål.
Tv-spel som kultur? : En kvantitativ studie över tv-spelens kulturella plats på folkbiblioteket.
This study examines the cultural place and status of video and computer games in the Swedish public library. Using works on popular culture and the theories of Pierre Bourdieu, this study employs quantitative methods, as well as textual analysis, to analyze the results of an online questionnaire with 19 questions focusing on selection criteria, shelf placement, perceived competence, as well as reasoning for having or not having these games in the library. 286 out of the 440 libraries contacted is participating in the study, and the libraries consist exclusively of public libraries in Sweden that are found in the database of the Royal Library.The results of this study show that a larger number of libraries than previously indicated have started to provide electronic games to their patrons. At the same time, patterns in the data and comments suggests that these games in many cases still do not enjoy the same level of cultural recognition as other media. Indicative of this is the way most libraries seem to focus on the medium being exclusively for their young patrons, with seem-ingly very little in the way of investment for adults.
