The study aims to contribute knowledge about children's perceptions of the leisure-time as a learning environment. The study can be seen as an attempt to highlight the possible learning in the leisure-time, formally or informally.The study is based on two group interviews with a total of 11 children and was conducted by an interview guide with question areas to be discussed freely so that the children could give as full an answer as possible.Main results of the study show that children feel that they are staying at the leisure-time to get care when their parents are working and that they primarily associate the leisure-time with playing. The results show however that children feel that they learn things when participating in the leisure-time teaches controlled activities.It is possible to draw conclusions about the child actually experienced the leisure-time as a learning environment, but it can be difficult to identify when and how learning actually occurs. The aim of this study is to describe and understand the reasons to why people choose to become foster parents. By using the theory of action we wanted to investigate their intentions rather than their motives. The questions we wanted to answer where: How do the foster parents describe their reasons for becoming a foster home? What reasons do they give fore keeping on being foster parents? How do they comprehend their task and the fulfilling of it? The study was performed by utilizing qualitative interviews with five foster parents, four women and one man. In the analysis we used the theory of action as a theoretical perspective.

Då BVC-sjuksköterskan är nyckelpersonen i barnhälsovårdens arbete har hon en viktig roll i att förebygga och upptäcka barn som utsätts för misshandel.Syfte: Syftet var att belysa BVC-sjuksköterskans upplevelse av mötet med barn som misstänks vara utsatt för misshandel.Metod: En kvalitativ intervjustudie med åtta BVC-sjuksköterskor. Materialet analyserades med en kvalitativ manifest innehållsanalys.Resultat: Utifrån analysen framkom det tre huvudkategorier med tillhörande nio underkategorier. Huvudkategorierna består av; När barnmisshandel misstänks, där det framkom att BVC-sjuksköterskorna upplevde oro vid misstanke om barnmisshandel, och att barnmisshandel uttrycktes i att barnen inte får sina behov tillgodosedda. Barnmisshandel ansågs även vara svårbedömt.

Denna utvärdering är gjord vid Slottegymnasiets bibliotek i Ljusdal och syftar till att lyfta fram skolelevernas åsikter kring bibliotekets roll, rum och användning. Jag har använt mig av observationer och semistrukturerade intervjuer för att få fram en bred och kontrastrik bild av bibliotekets användare.Utöver eleverna har jag även intervjuat kommunens bibliotekschef, ansvarig rektor vid skolan samt skolbibliotekets bibliotekarie, för att se om deras bild av biblioteket överensstämmer med elevernas. Jag har även utgått från lagtext samt direktiv från skolinspektionen och på det sättet arbetat fram ett mikro, makro, meso-perspektiv där lagen representerar makro, kommunen representerar meso och eleverna vid skolan representerar mikro-delen av undersökningen.Slottegymnasiets bibliotek är placerat centralt i skolan och många elever passerar igenom det under dagen för att ta sig från ena delen av skolbyggnaden till den andra. Detta resulterar i att en hög andel elever passerar biblioteket under dagen. Eleverna i min undersökning uppskattar bibliotekets placering i byggnaden och använder det i första hand till studier.Datorerna i biblioteket används flitigt av eleverna, delvis som komplement till skolans datasalar och delvis för nöjen.

The purpose of this study was to investigate parents' knowledge about diet and dental caries. The survey was conducted using a structured questionnaire consisting of 19 questions regarding knowledge of diet and caries, and preventive measures. The questionnaires were distributed to parents who were visiting a dental hygienist or prophylaxis nurse with their children aged 0-3 years. A total of 88 completed surveys were collected. The study showed that the majority of the parents had knowledge about diet and dental caries.

The study focuses on the use of poetry in language teaching in the lower grades in the Swedish school. Poetry has a reputation of being an art form with such specific rules and structures that children and teachers think that it is something that they do not have the ability to work with.  The purpose of this study is to get an understanding of how poetry is used in educating children. My research is based on the following questions. To which extent is poetry being used in schools and how is it being used?Can you as a teacher see any effects on childrens language development by using poetry?As a part of my study I have met with and interviewed four different people, who in one way or another is involved in teaching children. Two working teachers in the lower grades, one pedagogical resource and one artist that work with teachers in reaching different goals through the help of aesthetic processes.

The purpose of this study was to examine how girls and boys are described by social workersin psycho-social assessments in child and adolescent psychiatry. The questions at issue wereif girls and boys are described in different ways and if gender related patterns could be found.The study was both qualitative and quantitative. I used textual analysis as a method anddiscourse analysis as theory.Results: Sexes were generally described differently. Girls are depicted from how they are andhow they look and boys are described by what they do and their behaviour. The mother isdescribed as the person who is most responsible for children of both sexes.

Prostitution is a large and multifaceted subject. In this study, the purpose is to gain an insight into how the police officers work and act when they get in contact with young prostitutes. The study contains answers and opinions from five police officers which were conducted through semi-structured interviews in this qualitative study. The results were analysed based on a social constructive perspective and Goffman?s stigma theory.

In 2007 the Prevention Unit at Södermalm in Stockholm started a group activity for parents and children. The group activity?s intention is to offer families support in their early interaction. This study is a part of providing knowledge about this intervention. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the stories which are produced by five participants in a support group for parents and children.

Snow White through Grimm and Disney - A Comparative StudyThis essay attempts to discern the differences regarding six Swedish versions of the fairy-tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs over a period of 150 years. Focus is placed on structural transformations through time and media according to the analytical theories of Vladimir Propp. Attention is also given to former research done on the impact of the fairy-tale on the child from a psychological and social point of view. Of interest is the historical background of the tale, commencing with oral tradition, and how this was dealt with by the Grimm brothers. Three of the versions used for this comparative study are variants of the Grimm tale, and three belong to Walt Disney productions, i.e.

Title: The impact of environment on music students' commitment to music - a study of attitudes among music students and their parents. The purpose of this essay is to illustrate the importance of environmental influence on childrens' musical interests and factors inspiring children to play instruments and sing. The parents' opinions, regarding the extent of the effect of the environment on the musical interest of their child, are compared in the text, with the childrens' own opinions in this matter. I conducted the survey in two music classes in Malmö. I used a questionnaire, where all students participated and I also conducted qualitative interviews with four students and their parents.
