The freshwater pearl mussel (Margaritifera margaritifera) is threatened throughout its range. There has been a substantial decline of the species and one major reason is habitat degradation. We investigated how the substrate composition of the bottom floor affects the regeneration of the mussel by analyzing data from the Västerbotten County Board?s inventory of the freshwater pearl mussel. The results implied that fine material such as fine sediment and sand might be detrimental to regeneration whereas gravel and boulders and in particular stone seem to be beneficial.

This essay is about the question if there is any difference in quality at the homes for the elderly in Skåne, depending on however the home is run by a public organization or private counterpart. The quality of the homes is meet with the help of numbers in ?the guide for the elderly? the facts in the guide are collected and judged by the ?Swedish National Board of Health. The empirical data used for this master thesis, consists of eight manuals with the main purpose to help students evaluate information resources found on the web or Internet. The purpose is to elucidate the discourses and investigate those textual characteristics, which figure in the investigated manuals. The method used is a discursive and linguistic approach, with a power/knowledge discussion applied to the results. The analysis identifies, among other things, the production and consumption of the investigated texts, and that the manuals function as a reflection of the relationship between the participants in the situation, the sociocultural practice of the institution and its identity..

The goal with this project was to achieve real-time synchronized video playback over the Internet, or in other words, that multiple clients play the same part of a video at the same time.The result shows how it is possible to build such a protocol, that gives a user experience that the video is synchronized between computers when playing a locally stored file, stream or video delivered using progressive download. This was achieved by designing, then role playing to find weaknesses, and at last implementing the protocols to see how they work in practice. By using such a protocol, it is possible to navigate and discuss around a video in for example a telephone conference, and be sure that everybody is looking on the same picture..

Examensarbetet behandlar tekniker för sekundär öppning av storskaliga brytningsrum i Boliden Mineral AB:s underjordsgruva i Garpenberg: När längden på brytningsrummen överstiger ett visst värde måste brytningen indelas i två steg: där första halvan av rummets längd bryts och återfylls i första steget, varefter återstående av rummets längd bryts i ett andra steg. I inledningen av brytningens andra steg krävs en fri yta att kunna spränga den kvarvarande malmen mot - dels för att ge plats för berget att svälla i och dels för att fungera som fri yta för de av produktionssalvorna uppkomna stötvågorna att reflekteras mot. Den öppningsspalt som används idag åstadkoms genom borrning och sprängning med relativt tätt hålmönster. Idén till arbetet var att det bör gå att göra både kostnads- och tidsbesparingar genom att använda en alternativ metod till borrning och sprängning vid skapandet av öppningsspalten. Målet med arbetet var därför att hitta en teknik som uppfyller denna idé.

Background: The latest development within the business world has been characterized by deregulation and globalization which has made the company bigger and even more influential. The increased power has resulted in a shift of responsibility for the community from the public to the private sector. (Steinholtz och Löhman, 2003) There have been many trends regarding what accountability includes and how financial accounting can be complimented in a useful and reliable way. Some trends have come to stay whilst others have shown to be less successful or the world has not been ready for them. (Larsson, a, 2002) Purpose: The purpose with this paper is to look at the historical development towards accounting for sustainability and to investigate what factors that might have hade an impact on this development.

Storing kinetic energy in a flywheel allows for more efficient driving of electricvehicles. Research in this area is in progress at Uppsala University, where a flywheelwith magnetic bearings encased in a vacuum chamber is being constructed. To makethis possible methods for measuring the current through the electromagnets in thebearings and temperatures in the flywheel need to be developed. This has been thepurpose of this report. The current measurement resulted in a resistive method, andthe implementation of eight measurement circuits in the system.

Today's planning strategy, densification of cities, makes it difficult for municipal authorities to find spaces to build preschools and daycare centers on. The Planning and Building Act , Chapter 8, § 9 states that " if the site should be developed with buildings that contain one or more dwellings or premises for after-school , preschool, school or other activities, it should be on the property or near it, enough free space which is suitable for play and being outdoors. " Each municipality has to define the expression enough free space and a number of municipalities have established guidelines for preschool and daycare centers concerning dimensions. The guidelines measure the number of square meters of free space per child with the aim of contributing to a qualitative environment. But the size is just one quality and the issue is how other non-quantifiable qualities are taken into account in the planning process. The paper compares three municipalities, Gothenburg, Malmö and Lund.

Syftet med den här studien är att undersöka textlämpligheten och dyslexianpassning av de texter som förekommer i svenska läroböcker i engelska A på gymnasiet. De läroböcker som undersöks är Master Plan, Straight Forward, RealTime1 och Spring Board 1. För att navigera rätt bland tidigare forskning och lärobokstexterna väljer jag att jobba utefter en frågeställning: 1. Vad kan ses som dyslexianpassning och vad är icke dyslexianpassning i läroböcker som används i engelska A? För att kunna undersöka textlämpligheten och dyslexianpassningen i lärobokstexterna användes två metoder; strukturell textanalys och innehållsanalys/läsbarhetsanalys. Resultatet av dessa analyser är bland annat att läroboken RealTime1 har stora fördelar för elever med dyslexi vad gäller textlämplighet..

SAMMANFATTNING Under det senaste decenniet har utvecklingen inom svensk lagstiftning gått oerhört fort fram. Anledningen är att de svenska redovisningsreglerna har anpassats efter de internationella som i första hand är avsedda för större bolag. Konsekvenserna blev ett allt för stort och komplext regelverk för de mindre bolagen. Bokföringsnämnden inledde därför arbetet med att ta fram förenklade redovisningsregler för de allra minsta företagen, de så kallade K1-företagen. Även regeringen har uppmärksammat de ökade kostnaderna för redovisningsarbetet vilka i dagsläget uppgår till 1 645 miljoner kronor för svenskt näringsliv.

Studien belyser uttagningsprocessen och mottagandet av kvotflyktingar ur de arbetandes perspektiv samt studerar samverkan mellan olika aktörer som arbetar med frågan. The ongoing change that characterizes the landscape as a result of the development of the society as a wholeis the basis for this thesis. Even though the Scanian landscape still is dominated by arable land, other valuessuch as biological diversity, cultural heritage and economical aspects, has all been ascribed the landscape asmore and more important factors and in some respects, compete with the farming industry about the right tothe landscape. Our demand of more and more space, will of course also affect the landscape. Huge amountof land are used to build external malls and single-family houses, which gives rise to an increasing need foran extended transport system that also is land consuming.It all comes down to: how the municipalities deal with non built areas - the green structure. Do themunicipalities have separate programs describing their vision and objectives concerning the green structure?Literature studies, an inventory made of the municipality programs in the west and south west of Scaniaand interviews with employees at the municipalities clarifies the use of the green structure concept, both intheory and in practice.The green structure concept seems to be derived from the environmental debate.

One of the environmental problems today in seas, lakes and streams is eutrophication. This is often caused by nutrients such as phosphorus (P) and nitrogen (N) that leak from agricultural areas. A measure to partly prevent the nutrient discharge is to construct or restore wetlands.In order to control the efficiency of nutrient reduction of existing wetlands in the county, the administrative board in Västra Götaland wants to find different criterias for reference wetlands. These reference wetlands should represent other wetlands and be used in future evaluations of reduction of nutrients and design of constructed wetlands. According to the administrative board in Västra Götaland the reference wetlands should have a catchment area of about 50 hectare consisting of at least 70 % arable land, to represent wetlands created to remove nutrients.
