This Master?s Thesis aims to investigate and assess the methods used to decrease the discharge ofmetals, primarily copper, from the water purification plant at Assa Industries plating factory inEskilstuna.Literature studies of the purification methods precipitation, ion exchange, evaporation, reverseosmosis and electrolysis has been done to appraise the adequacy of the technique. Thesetechniques are commonly used for purification of industrial waste water.Assa has four plating lines: the Trumline, the big Zinkline, the new Zinkline and the Decorativeline. The new Zinkline is the most modern of the four lines and purification is done byrecirculation over an ion exchange unit. The demand for fresh water is thereby heavily reduced.The Trumline, the big Zinkline and the Decorative line all use Older techniques.

Inledning: En vanlig missuppfattning är att feta individer är lata och inte vill försöka uppnå viktkontroll, eller gå ner i vikt. Syfte: Identifiera faktorer, vilka respondenterna uppfattar påverkar viktuppgång som upphov till övervikt och fetma hos sig själva samt hos andra individer. Urval: Fyra kvinnor och två män i åldrarna 39-50. Ingen respondent har varit överviktig som barn, men har någon gång efter 18 års ålder upplevt fetma. Metod: Studien har en kvalitativ forskningsansats där semistrukturerade intervjuer har använts för att ta reda på respondenternas uppfattningar kring fenomenet viktuppgång.

Today's planning strategy, densification of cities, makes it difficult for municipal authorities to find spaces to build preschools and daycare centers on. The Planning and Building Act , Chapter 8, § 9 states that " if the site should be developed with buildings that contain one or more dwellings or premises for after-school , preschool, school or other activities, it should be on the property or near it, enough free space which is suitable for play and being outdoors. " Each municipality has to define the expression enough free space and a number of municipalities have established guidelines for preschool and daycare centers concerning dimensions. The guidelines measure the number of square meters of free space per child with the aim of contributing to a qualitative environment. But the size is just one quality and the issue is how other non-quantifiable qualities are taken into account in the planning process. The paper compares three municipalities, Gothenburg, Malmö and Lund.

Selenium (Se) is an essential trace element that is involved in several physiological functions in mammals. Mostly, Se is bound to proteins, many of them with enzymatic functions. A group of seleno-depending enzymes, glutathione peroxidases (GSH-Px?s), are important as antioxidants and protects against free radicals. The activity of GSH-Px is strongly regulated by Se storage in the liver.

Purpose: The purpose of this interview study was to describe the nurses? view of their experiences of interaction with other professionals to improve the elderly patient's nutritional status in municipal elderly care.Method: The study is based on qualitative interviews with nine nurses and was analyzed according to a qualitative content analysis method.Results: The main themes that emerged: Communication among the involved, To feel secure in their role, Lack of structure. The nurses worked closely with nursing staff and cooperated more with doctors about nutrition than with the physiotherapist and occupational therapist. The nurses felt they had the main responsibility for maintaining a good nutritional status of the elderly patient and described themselves as primarily responsible for nutrition while they lacked nutritional competence equal to the responsibilities they had during the whole nutrition process. The nurses had no community dietitian?s skills and felt that the dietitian had a great responsibility and the most updated knowledge in diet and nutrition.

Abstract:This thesis work has been conducted at the Real Estate Department in Halmstad.The department consists of a construction/project management-unit and an operation/management-unit.Like many other towns in Sweden, Halmstad has had a long lasting problem with indoor environment. Not at least at their preschools.Today they are constructing from current building regulations. They have learned from negative experiences which have occurred in the indoor environment in Older buildings.Focus is now on healthy materials, like low emission value, energy efficiency and optimization of the building, but still with soft parameters such as cleaning, interior and choice of materials.The fixtures is provides by the real estate department and the furnishings are provides by the children and youth administration. Together they are trying to provide a great indoor environment.I have, together with the real estate department and the children and youth administration of Halmstad, investigated how to provide a good indoor environment in the preschools with small funds.In my thesis there is one theoretical part with a questionnaire survey of how the preschool staff is experiencing their indoor environment to determine where the problems often start. And a practical part with measurements to try and come down to a result that analysis the cause of the problems and also to make sure that the ventilation systems are fulfilling projected values.The measurements and the questionnaire surveys was made at Lokes preschool in Frösakull, Askens preschool in Oskarström and Gullbrandstorps preschool.There were some differences between the staff-responses at the three different preschools.At Askens preschool they feel that the premises are cleaned poorly.At Gullbrandstorps preschool they feel that the indoor-air is bad because they can´t open the windows.

Abstract The purpose of the study is to examine how children perceive the relation between play and sex and analyse it from a gender perspective. This by answering the questions: "Is the children?s choice of place, materials and company in play dependent on gender?" and "Is there a significant difference between the sexes and/or ages?" The study was done through twelve focusgroup interviews with three children in each group except two groups of two children in each. Eight boys and nine girls of six years old and nine boys and eight girls of nine years old were interviewed. Boys and girls were interviewed in separate groups and the questions were open ended and followed up.

Bakgrund: Sjuksköterskans arbete präglas av såväl lagar och förodningar men också av värdegrunder och etiska koder vilket medför ett stort moraliskt ansvar. Samvete beskrivs som en grundläggande förmåga att skilja mellan rätt och fel, och att vara i konflikt med samvetet kan innebära att förlora sin identitet och värdighet. Äldre människor på särskilt boende eller som har hemtjänst anser inte att de får tillräckligt bra tillgång till vård, samtidigt som vårdarbete med äldre präglas av underbemanning och låg moral.Syfte: Belysa sjuksköterskors upplevelser av samvetsstress i vårdandet av äldre.Metod: I litteraturöversikten har 15 artiklar analyserats. Utifrån dessa har tre kategorier framkommit vilka är utlösande faktorer och orsaker till samvetsstress, sjuksköterskors upplevelser av samvetssress framkallar samt sjuksköterskors sätt att hantera samvetsstress.Resultat: I studien framträdde flertalet faktorer som orsakar samvetsstress bland sjuksköterskor, däribland onödigt patientlidande och yttre krav. Samvetsstress väckte känslor så som otillräcklighet, maktlöshet och dåligt samvete.

Sweden's aging population makes the need for a viable health care urgent and telemedicine can be a solution to enable Older people to receive or give themselves care in their homes. Furthermore, implementation of telemedicine has the potential to realise profits in society by increasing the accessibility of health care and minimizing travel costs. Sweden?s low population density and geographical configuration makes the advantages of telemedicine even more appealing. To illustrate the differences between the county councils? use of telemedicine and thus increasing the possibility for coordinated care between them, the authors have on behalf of the Innovation Centre at the Karolinska University hospital mapped the amount of telemedicine technologies that are available in the Swedish county councils? today. To collect information an electronic survey and video or telephone interviews were used.

Bakgrund och problemformulering: Tidigare forskning visar att 32 procent av Sveriges befolkning bor ensamma och många utav dem är äldre personer. Det är inte bara äldre som bor ensamma som upplever ensamhet utan även de som bor på boenden och har personer runt sig. Studien kommer beskriva hur en ensam äldre person kan bemötas på bästa sätt samt hur upplevelsen av ensamheten påverkas om den är självvald eller påtvingad.Syfte: att beskriva äldres upplevelse av ensamhet.Metod: En litteraturstudie har gjorts enligt Axelssons modell (2012), där kvalitativa artiklar har analyserats och sammanställts till fyra teman: ensamhetsfaktorer, att bli gammal, ensamhetens konsekvenser och att hantera ensamhet. Artiklarnas inklusionskriterier var att de handlade om personer äldre än 65 år. Artiklarna skulle inte vara äldre än sex år och bygga på kvalitativa studier.Resultat: Upplevelsen av ensamhet kan uppstå på olika sätt, den blir mest påtaglig vid förlusten av en partner.

Children?s utterances have been studied in different languages; however, only a few studies refer to Swedish. The aim of the present study is to describe utterance types, subordinate clauses and utterance length for a group of three and four year old Swedish children without known functional impairments.The study included 29 children, 17 girls and 12 boys, in a larger city in the south-east of Sweden. The children, all native Swedish speakers, were aged 3;0 to 4;11. Sound recordings were made during a playing session with one of the authors in the children?s day care centers.The utterances were divided into the categories elliptical responses, incomplete and partly unintelligible utterances, imitative utterances and independent utterances.

This Master thesis is performed at the request of the forest company Mellanskog and the local municipality of Borlänge in Sweden and aims to establish recreational adjusted forest management plan for the areas of Mellsta and Skräddarbacken in Borlänge. In all types of urban forestry it is very important that the management plan are accepted by the general public. To make sure that also these plans of future measures, pass in the public, interview studies have been performed in which the public wishes and interests have been examined and applied in the management plan. To make sure that future measures in the forest may be accepted by the public when the forest harvester enters the woods, it is very important that a well functional work of information has been made. The people living close by the forest shall have been informed a couple of weeks before the time of measures and it must also be good information available that explains what is to be done and why.

Eftersom andelen äldre som är i behov av vård- och omsorg ökar i samhället kommer även anhörigvårdare att öka och i många fall kan det innebära en tung börda, isolering och ensamhet. ACTION-tjänsten är en form av IKT-baserat anhörigstöd som kan vara ett komplement till andra former av stöd till anhöriga. Med IKT menas Informations och Kommunikations Teknologi. Tidigare forskning om vård- och omsorgspersonalens upplevelser och erfarenheter av att arbeta med ACTION-tjänsten är knapphändig. Syftet med studien var att beskriva vård- och omsorgspersonalens erfarenheter av att stödja äldre och anhöriga som vårdar sina äldre närstående i hemmet, via ACTION-tjänsten.

Syftet med studien var att beskriva arbetsterapeuters arbete med fritidsaktiviteter vid rehabilitering av äldre. Fem semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med arbetsterapeuter verksamma inom distriktsarbetsterapi eller daglig verksamhet. Arbetsterapeuterna hade 5 till 38 års yrkeserfarenhet. Intervjuer analyserades enligt kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Analys av data resulterade i tre kategorier: ?Ramar och regler vid arbete med fritidsaktiviteter; Strategier för att möjliggöra klienters deltagande i fritidsaktiviteter; Arbetsterapeuters tankar om fritidsaktiviteter?.

The purpose of this study is to the increase knowledge and understanding of the meeting between children with Arabian as native language and a Swedish school library. The study is made as a qualitative investigation built on interviews with eight-year-olds and eleven-year-olds. Only the childrens needs and views are considered. The study is centred on twelve key issues and aims to document the childrens thoughts and views of reading as well as their reading habits and their use of the school library. Through the childrens own words their evaluation of reading and literature, their abilities to assimilate the text and their de facto use of the books can be known.
