The aim of this study is to explore the effects of probation Officers and their work. The following questions have been asked to come to a conclusion: How do probation Officers view their work and the purpose of it? What are the effects of probation Officers work? The approach of the study is of a qualitative nature and has been conducted by interviewing three Officers of the correctional service system, three probation Officers and two ex-criminals that have been on probation. The selection is based on a snowball type selection. To analyse the results of the study we have applied previous research and phenomenological theory to examine the experience of correctional service Officers, probation Officers and ex criminals.

HACCP-Implementering och tillsyn

 The food-safety legislation in Sweden were changed and updated in 1996, much because of demands from the European Union for a common legislation regarding the food-safety issues in the EU. This report discusses how the Swedish authorities are dealing with the new legislation in Sweden. Further on the report presents how the food safety Officers in the municipalities in Sweden are implementing this new legislation in their daily work, especially the requirements regarding the HACCP, Hazard Analysis Control and Checkpoints. The report shows that the implementation is quite slow and that many foodsafety-Officers don?t implement the legislation in the same way all over the country.

This is an examinaton of welfare Officers and patients experiences of a course in mindfulnessbased stressreduction in primary care. The authors used a qualitative method and a phenomenological hermeneutics scientific philosophical position. The analys of the data appeared by using three theoretical perspectives; cognitive, coping and Antonovskys Sence of Coherence. The purpose was to get a deeper understanding of what mindfulness is, how a course in mindfulnessbased stressreduction can be arranged and how it is comprehended by the welfare Officers and previous participators of the course. To get an opinion of the issue the authors wanted to know the welfare Officers intention of the course, to which patients they provide the course, what the participators thought about their situation before and after the attendence and if they had assimilated the knowledge and if so how it was applicable.

The main tool is a survey regarding threats and violence directed at animal welfare inspectors/Officers. The questionnaire was distributed to animal welfare inspectors/ Officers who worked on 15 of the country's 21 provincial governments. The response rate of the survey was 68.9 percent. The main conclusion of the study is that threats and violence directed at animal welfare inspectors/ Officers are common.

The aim of this undergraduate thesis was to explore how the welfare Officers at palliative units in Stockholm respond to the patients? thoughts and experiences during the last phase of life, as well as exploring their picture of the patients experiences. The research questions of the study were:? How do the welfare Officers relate to the patients? experience of their death? ? In what way do the welfare Officers respond to the dying patient and his or her experiences?? What knowledge/experience do the welfare Officers have and what knowledge/experience do they consider is needed in their profession?To answer the research questions a qualitative method was used where five welfare Officers in three different palliative units were interviewed. The empirical material was analysed through meaning concentration and are presented using exact quotations.

Motiverande samtal Inom Kriminalvården MIK : En kvalitativ studie om frivårdsinspektörers upplevelser av MIK

The purpose of this essay is to describe how probation service Officers regard their professional role and their liberty of action within the motivational treatment program, MIK, and the probation organization. To answer the purpose three questions were formulated: 1) Does the probation service organization affect the individual discretion for the probation service Officers, and in that case how? 2) Does the motivational treatment program, MIK, influence the probation Officers? professionalism and their professional role? 3) What advantages and disadvantages do the probation service Officers consider MIK being related to? The method conducted in the study was interviews with five probation service Officers in Stockholm. The interviews were combined with a theoretical framework based on themes as organization, professional role, professionalism and motivation. The result showed that probation Officers consider themselves to have a relatively high discretion within their work.

AbstractTitle: Welfare Officers personal experiences of stress and coping in an emergency hospital in StockholmThe purpose with this study was to describe how welfare Officers in an emergency hospital experienced stress in their workplace and what coping strategies they used. Through qualitative interviews the welfare Officers thoughts and experiences were examined. The result showed that welfare Officers experienced some stress at the workplace; this was related to lacks in the organization, heavy workload and short of time. The most commonly used coping strategies were social support, physical training, short breaks during the day to handle the stress at work. The conclusions of this study was that factors that reduces stress for welfare Officers who work at emergency hospitals was a functioning organization and management, the ability to control and at some levels effect their own work, to have guidance and other opportunities to ventilate with co-workers.

Den dubbla avvikaren : En kvalitativ studie om frivårdsinspektörers konstruktioner av kvinnor som begår brott

The purpose of this study has been to examine how female probation Officers construct the concept of women who commit crime. This have been done by examining how the probation Officers describe the phenomenon from their own point of view, how they perceive society's view of the phenomenon, how they describe the women's self-images and how their own perceptions affect the treatment of these women. To fulfill this aim the study is based on qualitative interviews with five female probation Officers. We analyzed their statements by using Gender theory, Goffmans stigma term and Beckers deviant term. The result of this study shows that women who commit crime are described more as victims than offenders and that they are constructed as deviant in two ways; both in relation to the law but also in relation to their gender.

The purpose of this essay was to examine six high school welfare Officers' experiences and work with students suffering from social phobia and discuss the welfare Officers' view on social phobia from a psychiatric, cognitive and a knowledge theory. The study consists of qualitative interviews with welfare Officers from several different high schools and attempts to answer the following questions: What previous experiences do welfare Officers have of students with social phobia? How do welfare Officers become aware of students with symptoms of social phobia and bring forth their problems? How do welfare Officers describe their social work with students suffering from social phobia?The welfare Officers' experiences of students with social phobia varied but turned out to be less salient than the amount of research in the area would suggest. The theoretical knowledge also varied, as did the acquiring and use of theory. These findings were then analysed on the basis of Rosmari Eliassons thoughts on knowledge, leading to the conclusion that the interviewed welfare Officers do not construct their work on praxis-knowledge.

In the latest years the Swedish armed forces have gone from an armed force with conscripts to voluntary men and women. When the basic training is voluntarily may the question be if the new men and women have the same approach to Desirable competences and pedagogy that is used by their Officers during their training. Desirable competences are a part of the model transformational leadership and are divided into task related competence, management competence, social competence and capacitate to cope with stress.To deal with this problem I have used questionnaires from conscripts and a new questionnaire made on voluntary recruits.I have compared the results in a case study method and it shows a positive progress from the recruits view how the Officers use examples from the transformational leadership. The study shows that recruits want Officers to make demands, motivate and inspire them. The recruits want to know the goal with the education and they want the Officers to make demands on them..
