The Societety Park (Societetsparken) of Varberg here in Sweden, established in the year 1883 (1856), is one of the most famous parks in Varberg. Today it is, more or less, only used as a park that you will walk through in the wintertime, under the summer season though, the park starts blooming and then it is used for public music and singalong evenings. Earlier it was an old health resort park with its fine old traditions.The Societetsparken was a private owned park until 1902 when the town purchased it. On this plot there was already a smaller park and it was established as early as in 1856. It was called Badhusparken (The Public Bath Park) and it belonged to the hot- and cold-bathhouses, and these baths were very well frequented.

Many people choose to live in urban environments. Since everyday life in many cities is characterized by a high pace it is important that good recreational areas, with the possibility of recovery, are available to the population.This paper is based on a case study of Växjö city park, which is the area surrounding the lake Växjösjön. The park and the lake are of great importance to the citizens. The lake Växjösjön has for a long time been affected by eutrophication, which has caused major problems as algal blooms and fish mortality. An extensive lake restoration was carried out in the 1990s in order to save the lake.

Det här planförslaget för omgestaltning av Hoglands park har strävat efter att göra området till en fungerande offentlig plats. En sådan bör inbjuda till möten och diskussion, vilket den nya parken också skulle göra i ökad grad genom att fler målpunkter för fler människor införs. Planförslaget har även sökt ett mer varierat rumsligt uttryck, främst exemplifierat genom gröna rum med olika grader av öppenhet och slutenhet. Placeringen av en byggnad med portalfunktion i parken har tillsammans med en tydlig entré också syftat till att skapa tydliga rumsliga avgränsningar. Tydlighet har även varit ett nyckelbegrepp för den nya vägstrukturen, vilken ändrat fokus från öst-västlig riktning till nord-sydlig, och på så sätt stärkt Hoglands parks position som vistelserum.

I takt med att pocket park som begrepp blivit allt populärare att använda i samma mening som modern stadsutveckling och förtätning av stadskärnan, har det också väckt vårt intresse att utreda vad begreppet verkligen innebär. Att begreppet pocket park är i ropet finns det ingen tvekan om. Stora städer som New York, London och Köpenhamn har med pocket park i sina stadsplanerings- och utvecklingsprogram. I Sverige är det fortfarande ett relativt okänt begrepp. I dagsläget finns det ingen generellt accepterad beskrivning för hur en pocket park ska se ut, hur stor till ytan den bör vara eller vilka beståndsdelar som ska finnas med. Vill vi undersöka vad begreppet pocket park innebär och hur vi i framtiden kan bygga bra och funktionella pocket parks i staden. Vi har som mål att identifiera och bryta ner begreppet pocket park och undersöka vilka beståndsdelar och funktioner som är mer betydelsefulla än andra i en pocket park? Processen startar med en litteraturstudie som sedan ska ligga till grund för en analys som belyser vilka de viktiga beståndsdelarna och funktionerna är för en pocket park.

Abstract Ideon Science Park was built on the edge of Lund city in mid-80ies. The Science Park was surrounded by open farm land and Lunds Faculty of engineering(LTH). The architecture, the facades of the buildings, were placed to face the faculty. The Science Park has since then grown, and the actual front of the building is no longer faced towards LTH. The people working at Ideon are met by the backside, the meeting with Ideon is primarerly a meeting with fields of parkinglots. The initiative to this thesis was taken by Ikano Fastigheter AB, one of two real estate owners of Ideon Science park. Their aim is to make the area easier to orientate, they want it to be more internally connected and with a stronger identity. The thesis is mainly dealing with two questions conserning Ideon Science center.

Projektet är ett förslag på hur man kan bygga nya bostäder, kontor och butiker i en av Stockholms större innerstadsparker. Hornsbruksgatan på Södermalm ligger längs Högalidsparken som kröns av Ivar Tengboms Högalidskyrka från 1923. I förslaget presenteras två byggnadskomplex med ett 30-tal lägenheter på drygt 1300 kvm samt ca 3500kvm för kontor och detaljhandel. Byggnadskropparna är tegelklädda med bärande stomelement i betongskivor.Förslaget handlar om hur husen möter parken och gatan som har två helt skilda karaktärer. Stadsgatan möter en allvarlig park för rekreation.

Denna uppsats undersöker om livsstilsboendet Victoria Park, beläget i Malmö, kan klassas som ett Gated Community. Undersökningen är utav en kvalitativ metod. Sammanlagt har fyra intervjuer genomförts med personer bosatta på Victoria Park. En observation av området är också utförd.

Millesgården is a museum on the island of Lidingö outside Stockholm. It contains the buildings which were the home and studios of the artist Carl Milles and his artist wife Olga. It also contains the grounds that originated as the garden of their home. Carl Milles later developed the garden into a sculpture park where a great part of the sculptors works are on display. In this report only the sculpture park is treated.

Uppsatsens syfte är att studera inköp av informationssystem i offentlig sektor och iden-tifiera sådana egenskaper hos dessa inköp som kommer sig av att de görs inom offentlig sektor.Egenskaperna har identifierats genom att ställa fyra fallstudier i relation till en referens-ram bestående av teorier om hur inköp av informationssystem bör genomföras, om hur en organisation ska hantera effekterna av ett inköp av informationssystem samt om in-köp i allmänhet inom offentlig sektor.Lagen om offentlig upphandling reglerar offentliga enheters arbetsmetoder och ansvar, vilket ger en strukturerad men oflexibel inköpsprocess. Speciellt får det konsekvenser för leverantörskontakterna innan och under upphandling. Vi tror att rutinerna som föl-jer av lagstiftningen ofta kan vara positiva då de tvingar enheterna att utvärdera de egna behoven..

This project is focusing on a future park that will surround Hyllie water tower in the outskirts of Malmö. The water tower will be located in the central part of the new building area Hyllievång. The park will function as a town park with a special focus on water. The water council of the municipality, Va-verket, has for the last 7 years built up and been in charge for a pedagogical programme in the water tower, were schoolchildren come to learn about the cycle of water and how we use water in our daily life. In the park they want to build a new part that gives experience of water, as a compliment to the information in the tower. What will that park look like, and what shall it be constructed of? How do you bring water to the surface in a park? How can landscape architecture work to enhance the presence of water and make people more interested in water issues? In the search to find the answers to all my questions I have meet with people, read books and visited different places.

Gunnebo House and Gardens was designed during the late 18th century by architect Carl Wilhelm Carlberg as a summer residence for the wealthy merchant John Hall Sr. and his family. The garden consists of formal garden, kitchen garden and English park. For the first two parts several original drawings have been preserved and here a lot of restoration work has been carried out. This paper aims to examine how the English park might have been implemented during John Hall Sr.?s time and to create a plant scheme for the area called ?Engelska kullen? (The English hill).

En omprogrammering av Kvarteret Domherren från dagens slutna byggnad med sin arkitekturskoleverksamhet, till ett levande kvarter med studentbostäder, arbetsplatser och offentlig verksamhet, vilken bedrivs av de studenter som bebor platsen. Den offentliga verksamheten domineras av en stor publik parkyta, vilken bryggar an mot den befintliga byggnaden. Under denna finns stora utställningshallar, café/bar och butik. Utställningarna kommer främst uppifrån de studenter och forskare som verkar uppe på KTH campus, och blir en publik brygga mellan campusområdet och allmänheten vilken bidrar till inblick, inspiration och förståelse av de spännande arbeten och projekt som bedrivs där. Denna plats blir på så sätt ett tillskott tyill staden både lokalt och i ett större sammanhang..

The park at Djäkneberget and its surroundings is a beloved area in the city of Västerås. The area is one of the most popular sites for outdoor life and recreation of all sorts and it attracts different kind of people at different times during the day. The park includes a pond-system where protected species of frog and toad live and breed. These animals have been the objects for many discussions concerning whether to explore the closeby areas or not. The prospected area is situated just next to one of the main ponds and consists of valuable foundationwalls were experts predict that the frogs and toads spend the winter. The municipality has now decided to restore this area to parkland. Because of the areas fascinating history I have chosen to do some research and give a short resume about it. For example are the existing park of Djäkneberget and its founder described together with a short description of the watersystem with the watertower that is situated in the area.
