The purpose of this essay is to examine how social welfare secretaries from the social service and welfare officers from adult psychiatry experience the cooperation between themselves in relation to mentally ill mothers and their children.Moreover, the study aims to shed light on social welfare secretaries and welfare officers views on potential gender related differences in the work with mentally ill mothers and fathers.Five qualitative interviews were performed in two separate municipals in the Stockholm area. Three of the respondents were social welfare secretaries in the social services and two were welfare officers in the adult psychiatry. Our theoretical starting point has been role theory and a model of different dimensions of cooperation.Our result showed that there were shortcomings in the cooperation between the two principals. How well the cooperation worked differed between the two municipals. In one of the examined municipals the cooperation could only be found on an individual client or individual patient case level, whilst in the other municipal the cooperation existed on a more general level in the form of project meetings.

Fetma är ett ökande problem och bariatrisk kirurgi blir allt vanligare. Bariatrisk kirurgi är ett effektivt sätt för snabb och hållbar viktnedgång och minskar fetmarelaterade sjukdomar. Vissa patienter går dock efter en tid upp i vikt igen och då har sjuksköterskan en roll att motivera patienterna som genomgått en operation till att uppnå en tillfredställande viktnedgång. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att genom en sammanställning av metoder som visat sig vara effektiva för viktnedgång efter bariatrisk kirurgi ge allmänsjuksköterskor kunskap för att på bästa sätt motivera, hjälpa och stödja patienter som genomgått ett bariatriskt ingrepp att uppnå en tillfredställande viktnedgång. Den metod som användes var artikelsökning i PubMed och Cinahl där elva artiklar valdes.

Background: Overweight is a health problem throughout the western world. Child health care (CHC) nurses and school nurses meet many children and their families and have the opportunity to work with prevention. The purpose of this study was to investigate the CHC - and school nurse´s experiences and reflections in the work on obesity in children. The aim was also to investigate the structural conditions CHC- and school nurse feel the need for this work. Method: The study had a qualitative approach with descriptive design.

The freedom of establishment is a fundamental right on the internal market which enables companies to take up and pursue activity in other member states, ?host states?, in a non discriminatory way. In situations where a company wishes to use the right to establish in a host state, complications will be discovered since the member states are applying different principles for deciding the nationality of a company. Since the Treaty of the Function of the European Union recognize both principles, and both of the legal areas company law and European international private law lack harmonization regarding companies wishing to perform such a transaction, the situation today brings the possibility that such a company could be covered by the legal system of several member states, or maybe no legal system at all.The Court of Justice of the European Union has through case law contributed to make the scope of the freedom of establishment a little bit clearer but there are still difficulties regarding situations when a company wishes to transfer its seat to another member state with a change of nationality. Today?s measures, for example the SE-company, is not enough to satisfy the companies wishing to transfer their seat to another member state.

Type 2 diabetes is a growing disease in the population which includes that older people are a risk group. With the disease grows even cost?s. A lifestyle change is a major part of the treatment for type 2 diabetes. There are several factors that suggest positive effects on prevention among the elderly where, among other things, economic and health benefits are presented.

Few Swedish studies are made on the diabetes nurse?s views on promotion of self- management.Purpose: To examine the diabetes specialist nurse?s experience of promoting self-management to patients with type 2 diabetes in primary care.  Method: A qualitative explorative study where eight diabetes nurses were interviewed. The interview guide consisted of semistructed questions concerning the promotion of self-management.Results: The diabetes nurse?s role in promoting patient self-management is significant, if resources are available in the form of adequate time for the patient and good team work.

BackgroundWorld Alliance for Patient Safety, launched by the WHO, has created a Surgical Safety Checklist. It was first published in 2008 and has been translated and modified in Sweden by Landstingens Ömsesidiga Försäkringsbolag, LÖF. The use of the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist has been shown to reduce the number of complications and deaths related to surgery.AimThe aim of this study is to describe the Theatre Nurse?s participation in in the use of a modified version of the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist intraoperatively in two Theatres in a hospital in the centre of Sweden.MethodThis study has a quantitative descriptive approach. A direct observational study was carried out in two Theatres and the participants were asked a few complementary questions after the observations.

Linux is a growing operating system in embedded systems. Today, Linux is not only in heavy servers but also in cell phones, PDAs, cameras and other devices running on battery power. While current technology is more energy efficient, more and more technologies are implemented into a single unit resulting in an overall increase of power consumption.Low power consumption is an increasingly important feature of a system today. Lower power consumption means lower costs, less environmental impact, and longer life for applications that runs on batteries.This work compiles methods to reduce power consumption of Linux systems. The work includes examining whether the available opportunities are platform-specific or of a more general nature.

An increase interest of new methods and tools has begun to grow in the real estate business, this new trend causes an increase in new programs that aim to simplify processes of energy-efficiency and environmental issues.After consulting with Björn Alsmark from Bjerking AB, an architect and engineering company, we made a decision that the Degree Project is going to examine the program IES (Integrated Environmental Solutions) with some integrations from Revit Architecture application.To be able to examine IES, we got access to a completed project from Bjerking. The project is a nursery school in Uppsala. An application has been handed in from Bjerking to make this project to a Green Building-certificated project. According to Bjerking own calculations (with the energy-calculation program Enorm), the consumption of energy of the nursery school is 48 percent lesser than required by BBR.An evaluation of IES and Enorm has been made with an aim to compare these two programs and find out if IES is an appropriate program to replace Enorm. Does Enorm or IES come up to BBR´s recommendations?The Degree Project cover 15 ECT, that required several adjusting and delimitations, and the study sketch ended with a literature study.After finishing the study sketch the modeling of the nursery school began.

Oavsiktlig lindrig hypotermi förekommer hos upp till 60 % av de patienter som genomgår en operation. Hjärnans förmåga att reglera kroppstemperaturen under ett operativt ingrepp påverkas av läkemedel som ges under anestesi. De åtgärder som vidtas innan och under operationen för att minska temperatursänkning är ofta otillräckliga och behöver förbättras. Idag finns få rutiner för hur oavsiktlig lindrig hypotermi skall undvikas för att minska det lidande som kan uppstå då patienten oavsiktligt utsätts för avkylning perioperativt. Syftet med studien var att påvisa de risker och effekter som uppstår i samband med oavsiktlig lindrig hypotermi perioperativt, samt att belysa framkomna skyddande faktorer.

Syfte: Syftet med denna litteraturöversikt var att beskriva hur litteraturen skildrar sjuksköterskans roll i vården av den äldre patienten i den pre- och postoperativa fasen, med fokus på nutritionens betydelse för rehabiliteringen och risken för komplikationer. Metod: Studien genomfördes som en litteraturöversikt och artiklarna söktes via CINAHL och MEDLINE.  Studiens resultat innehöll ett urval på 14 artiklar med kvantitativ ansats. Resultat: Undervisning och handledning med fokus på nutritionens betydelse för rehabiliteringen och risken för komplikationer var av vikt, även bedömningsinstrument underlättade sjuksköterskans nutritionsbedömning.  I omvårdnaden var energi- och näringstillskott, individuellt anpassade vårdplaner och måltidssituationer viktiga komponenter. Förebyggande åtgärder inom både omvårdnad och medicin hade en korrelation mellan förbättrad nutrition, rehabilitering och minskade risken för komplikationer hos äldre patienter i den pre- och postoperativa vården.

AimThe aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of MotVikt´s obesity-treatment program on eight severely obese subjects, concerning Body Mass Index, Waist-Circumference and Weight after three and a half months and Sense of Coherence, Body Image and Self-experienced Health after three months. The question in focus was: Did MotVikt´s obesity-treatment program have any effects concerning the factors mentioned above?MetodInformation was collected with questionnaires that were filled out by the eight subjects, three men and five women, who participated in MotVikt´s last round of treatment. Data concerning waist-circumference, weight and BMI were provided by MotVikt. The questionnaires that were used to get information about Sense of Coherence, Body Image and Self-Experienced health were SOC-29, BSQ and IQOLA SF-36.ResultatThe average BMI in the group has decreased with 2,9 kg/m2, from 39,7 till 36,8.

Bakgrund: Sambandet mellan hjärtkirurgi med extracorporeal cirkulation (ECC) och blodtransfusion visar risker så som ökad morbiditet och mortalitet. Detta kan orsaka lidande för patienten och leda till kostnader för samhället. Att hantera och administrera blodprodukter är en omvårdnadshandling som sjuksköterskan ansvarar för och detta ställer därför krav på dennes kompetens. Syftet: Syftet med denna studie var att studera intensivvårdssjuksköterskors kunskap om att ge blodtransfusion till patienter som genomgått hjärtkirurgi med ECC och om de ansåg sig ha kunskap om hur blodprodukter ska handhas och administreras på ett patientsäkert sätt, samt vilket behov av kompetensutveckling de ansåg sig ha. Metod: Studien som utfördes hade en kvantitativ design med deskriptiv ansats. Ett icke-slumpmässigt urval gjordes på en Thoraxintensivvårdsavdelningen vid ett universitetssjukhus i Mellansverige och 30 intensivvårdssjuksköterskor inkluderades. Resultat: Intensivvårdsjuksköterskorna hade en mycket låg till låg kunskap om de postoperativa komplikationer vid hjärtkirurgi med ECC som kan ha ett samband med blodtransfusion. Inget statistiskt signifikant samband kunde fastställas mellan intensivvårdsjuksköterskornas upplevda kunskap och faktiska kunskap om dessa postoperativa komplikationer.
