The examination of the adequate nature conservation methods in a natural reserve, to conserve a specific species and / or increase biological diversity is the subject of this study. This work is based on four species, that can be found during the Spring season, liverleaf, wood anemone, brimstone and woodpecker. The incidence and availability is studied and closely observed for these species in twenty forests, i.e. ten forests which are nature reserves and ten forests with the similar characteristics as the nature reserves habitat, but are not nature reserves in Gnesta mucipality, Södermanland. Measurements of the tree crown and the diameter of the tree trunks where noted to study how these factors could affect the outcome of the abundance and incidence of the four species.

Today's technology offers a variety of opportunities to interact with the interactive systems. Human-Computer Interaction in the last decade is the area of research that has contributed the most to this development. But how is this interaction perceived? The user experience is something that is formed by the interaction between human and the computer interactive systems. The objective of this thesis is to investigate how the user experience differs depending on how one interacts with a game.

Syftet med studien har varit att undersöka behovet av att i förskolan kartlägga barns språkutveckling. Vi har även studerat i vilket syfte kartläggning sker och vilka metoder som används. Särskilt intresse har riktats mot TRAS - Tidig Registrering Av Språkutveckling, och några pedagogers uppfattning om detta material. Vår undersökning bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer av fyra specialpedagoger samt enkäter som besvarats av personal på totalt 32 förskolor.Barns språkutveckling är komplex och påverkas av många faktorer. I enlighet med tidigare forskning visar vårt resultat att kartläggning är nödvändigt för att kunna se vilka behov en viss barngrupp har och därmed kunna anpassa verksamheten efter barnens utvecklingsnivå.

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a serious postoperative complication and nurses should therefore observe symptoms in an early stage and implement preventive provisions, for example use of graduated compression stockings (GCS). The nurse is also responsible for making sure that ordinate GCS tried and used correctly by the patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the latest research regarding the efficacy of GCS in prevention of postoperative DVT and if there are any incorrectness in usage. And assess guidelines and recommendations for the usage of GCS. Method: Literature review.

Mitt examensarbete handlar om hur förskolebarns samtal med varandra rekonstruerar, samt ger uttryck för genus. Jag utgår från ett socialkonstruktivistiskt, poststrukturalistiskt och i synnerhet ett queerfeministiskt perspektiv. För att möjliggöra detta arbete har jag använt mig av ljudinspelningar och observation som metod, som fångat upp förskolebarns samtal med varandra..

Fackförbundet är en politiskt styrd organisation, vars syfte är att förbättra medlemmarnas villkor genom att förhandla med arbetsgivare, teckna kollektivavtal, se till att avtalet följs, hantera tvister och utbilda sina medlemmar. Vår studie inventerar olika mötesformer i ett fackförbund. Formella och informella möten i organisationer är viktiga för att förstå hur informationsspridning sker i en organisation. Hur deltagarna upplever och deltar i mötena har betydelse för hur effektiva mötena är.Studien är kvantitativt inriktad och syftar på hur mötena fungerar på förbundet, vilka eventuella brister det finns samt hur ny teknik stödjer informationsspridning. I denna fallstudie använder vi oss av en enkät, intervjuer och i viss mån observation.

The aim of this paper is to investigate and analyze practices in multilingual classrooms of mathematics in a compulsory school in Sweden where immigrant students have been known to succeed. The school is situated in a suburban and segregated area outside a major city where pupils come from mainly limited socio-economic backgrounds. The rate of second language learners are 70% of all pupils in this school.By using ethnographic methods, mainly interviews and participant observation, data was collected in four mathematics classrooms which corresponded to consecutive ages of education. The data include field notes and observation of artifacts in the environment as well as interviews and informal conversations with teachers and school leadership. Information from the school website, the authority in charge of quality in Swedish schools (Skolverket) and the municipality were also used.The analysis is based on a socio-political viewpoint that power is relational and reflected within schools.

Syftet med studien var att få en insikt i vad det är som gör att kvinnor söker sig till yrket last-bilsförare, och hur de ser på yrket. För att närma mig syftet har jag under arbetets gång använt mig av deltagande observationer, fokusgruppintervjuer och enkäter som skickats ut till kvinn-liga lastbilsförare. Dessa tre olika sätt att få information på användes för att ge en övergripande bild på kvinnornas syn på yrket, och vägen in i yrket. Sammanlagt har jag varit i kontakt med 35 lastbilsförare, 18 kvinnor och 17 män. Som teoretisk referensram använde jag mig av teorier baserade på genus och könsmärkningsprocess från framför allt Hirdman, Westberg ? Wohl-gemuth.

My purpose in this essay is to show how the staff in an institution for young women with a drug addiction, are looking at themselves as "normal" and the young women as "abnormal", and to analyse how sex and gender are made, in interaction with sexuality and class.The essay is based on interviews and a participating observation. The study is made on a compulsory institutional care institution for young women with a drug addict. To analyse the material I use theories by Beverly Skeggs and Judith Butler.In the study I show that the staff in the institution define themselves as "normal" and intend to act as models for the clients, which are described as "abnormal" in terms of being destructive, boundless and sexual. In making class and gender the staffs efforts to make clients learn domestic values and to make their bodies feminine are shown to be central processes. Sexuality is by the staff seen as something happening only between men and women, and defining relations between men and women as always sexual creates gender.A central tension that I show in the essay is that between normal and abnormal, both in relation to differences between the staff and the clients and in relation to the staffs roles as both models of normal life and of violent and violating keeps of order.

Background and problem: In Croatia, the hotel industry has undergone difficult and unstable conditions since the 90s. Since 2001, however the results in the sector has improved due to increased investment in the renovation of facilities and construction of new hotels.Purpose: The study aims to examine hotel operations on the Makarska Riviera on the basis of tourist business perspective, and examine its quality, service and accessibility.Method: In this study we used a qualitative approach. The survey was conducted through structured interviews and a non-participant observation.Result and conclusions: Satisfied and fulfilled employees, in turn that the hotels will have satisfied customers and may have profitable operations. Many hotels aim at constantly working to improve profitability and customer satisfaction. When measuring customer satisfaction, many hotel owners felt that the service is good and that they have received a good response from their guests.

Jag vill med min uppsats göra en deskriptiv undersökning av rosenmetoden. I den första delen av uppsatsen beskriver jag metoden i sig. Jag går själv i utbildning i rosenmetoden så den kunskap jag får del av i utbildningen beskriver jag som deltagande observation. Sedan i del två så gör jag en jämförelse mellan rosenmetoden och jungianska teorier och ser på likheter och skillnader..

The aim of this study was to compare activity, lying down and getting up behaviour, weight gain and cleanliness in heifers in cubicles versus on deep-litter. The study was conducted from autumn of 2005 until autumn of 2006 in a commercial organic dairy herd with 340 cows. In 2005 the farm rebuilt half of the young stock accommodation from deep-litter pens to cubicles. The experiment used 150 heifers of the breeds Swedish Red, Swedish Holstein and crossbreeds between these, all born on the farm. The animals were divided into three blocks based on breed and within each block they were sorted after increasing age. The youngest heifer in each block was randomly allocated to one of two groups, cubicle or deep-litter pen.

This study was conducted at VikingGenetics' bull breeding station in Falkenberg, Sweden. The bulls waiting for the results of their progeny testing at this station are either kept in group housing or individual housing. Since both of these housing systems have advantages and disadvantages, it was in the interest of VikingGenetics to know which of these housing systems is the best. The aim of this study was to investigate the welfare of the bulls in these two housing systems through behavioural observations and the use of activity monitors. In the preparations for the study 16 bulls, 8 in each housing system, were chosen.

ABSTRACTThe aim of this study was to ascertain whether there was any interest among dental hygienists, raising their level of competence throught attending additional courses or gaining further qualifications. The study was carried out by sending out two-hundred questionarires to randomly chosen dental hygienists. After one remainder come the answer frequency up to 66%. The study shows that many of the dental hygienists are interested to study at college. Many wanted raising level of comtpetence by education, wich also the study shows.

Detta är en undersökning om navigation i tredimensionella miljöer, ellermer specifikt, om att navigera i en miljö som presenterar en molekylmodellav ett nätverk. Arbetet har täckt både konstruktion av modellen ochen undersökning av mänskliga spatiala förmågor, metaforer och mentalamodeller.Undersökningen är kvalitativ och består av två delar, observation och entänka-högt metod. Resultat från undersökningen gav intressanta resultatangående både gränssnittet och kopplingen mellan försökspersonernasmentala modeller och den presenterade metaforen..
