The number of people who gets Obesity increase wiht 1/2-1 % every year. Despite this number it is shown that Obesity is a chronic and neglected decease. The purposes of this literature study were to describe how Obesity effects adult and the risk of complications and the factors the nurse needs to know which effects patiens with Obesity. The results shows the connection between Obesity and complications and also what methods the nurse can use in the preventive work..

Obesity is a problem that increases exponentially in humans and companion animals. It is defined as a big accumulation of fat in the body and is usually connected with several diseases. This study describes how Obesity can be diagnosed, in which way the gut flora can affect Obesity, if the gut flora is genetically influenced or not, and how it differs between individuals with Obesity and Obesity-related diseases. Conclusions of the study are that both the bacterial strains Bacteriodetes and Firmicutes probably have a connection to Obesity. The intestinal flora is probably also genetically related.

Background: Overweight is a health problem throughout the western world. Child health care (CHC) nurses and school nurses meet many children and their families and have the opportunity to work with prevention. The purpose of this study was to investigate the CHC - and school nurse´s experiences and reflections in the work on Obesity in children. The aim was also to investigate the structural conditions CHC- and school nurse feel the need for this work. Method: The study had a qualitative approach with descriptive design.

The aim of this study was to describe the mental and social causes to Obesity among children and adolescents, their consequences and what preventive interventions that are used. The method used by the authors was to search for scientific articles in the database Medline, using the keywords: Obesity, overweight, child, body image, social, family, school, depression, nursing, quality of life, social support, prevention and support. The study was performed as a literature review, with a descriptive design, and the result contained 22 scientific articles. The main result of this study showed that Obesity among children and adolescents is not only an individual problem, it affects the whole family. The main causes to Obesity among children and adolescents are the socioeconomic status of the family, their lifestyle, and even gender to a certain degree.

Studies show that drug treatments of adults with ADHD have positive effects in terms of reduced symptoms, increased efficiency and improved quality of life, but drugs can also cause side effects in form of loss of appetite and insomnia. For adults with ADHD and Obesity drugs that affect metabolism have a significant impact on patients ability to lose weight.

ABSTRACTBackground: Obesity and overweight are health issues that more than every tenth person around the world suffers from and the number of individuals with BMI >30 is every growing. As a result, more patients that are subjects to anesthesia will have an increased BMI. Changes in respiration, airway anatomy, altered drug metabolism and multiple physiological changes in the body makes general anesthesia, of the patient with Obesity, an anesthesiological challenge.Purpose: The aim of this study is to identify the specific anesthesiological nursing care of the patient with a BMI >30, undergoing general anesthesia.Method: A research plan is created and to test its credibility, a pilotstudy of 15 surveys in two surgical departments will be conducted. This study has a qualitative inductive design and the data collected through semistructured questionnaires. The result was analyzed using qualitative content analysis.Result: The result showed a clear focus on three main areas; airway management, pharmaceuticals and positioning of the patient.
