This paper is a thorough review of my internship, during which I designed infographics at Grafiskt Center, SVT, Stockholm. News graphics as a part of journalism is something that?s constantly developing along with the news. That?s what we believed when we started this paper including its study. And we still believe the same, now that we?re done.News graphics itself is fairly common in Swedish newspapers, it can be seen every day in almost any major newspaper and is perfect for describing an event like the pollution of the sea over many years or just simply point out on a map where a city is located.This is one of the reasons to why we wrote this; another reason is that there?s almost nothing else written on the subject in northern Europe.

The work was performed on Swedish Television's own graphic department, SVT design in order to examine how news graphics need to be developed to follow the technological changes in media. The production resulted in a news graphics concept divided into three parts. Two of the sections show examples of how graphics can be adapted according to platform and the third section shows examples of news graphics that are produced at SVT Design by me. Den här rapporten behandlar ämnet informationsdesign. Informationsdesign är ett flervetenskapligt ämne som omfattar studier av tekniker och processer för framtagning av informationsmaterial. Textdesign, bilddesign och grafisk design är tre av de vetenskapliga ämnen som ingår i informationsdesign. Informationsgrafik är en kombination av text, bild och grafisk form och informationsdesign lämpar sig därför ypperligt för ämnet i denna rapport. Syftet med detta examensarbete har varit att producera informativ och intresseväckande informationsgrafik till en specialtidning som Dagens Industri ger ut i samband med tennisturneringen Swedish Open i Båstad.Informationsgrafikerna består av dels en orienteringskarta som kommer att finnas på sista sidan de dagar tidningen ges ut, dels av tio underliggande informationsgrafiker med tenniskuriosa.

Denna studie utforskar hur en informationsgrafik om ett framtida globalt hot mot folkhälsan, antibiotikaresistens, kan utvecklas och utformas med ett perspektiv mot individens ansvar istället för den mer vanligt förekommande nyhetsvinklingen mot myndigheters ansvar. Detta inom ett statiskt format för publicering i svenska dagspressen.  Uppdragsgivare för grafiken var TT Nyhetsbyrån. Arbetet utgick från tidigare publicerad grafik angående antibiotikaresistens från nyhetsbyrån. För att finna förbättringsmöjligheter genomfördes en formalanalys på materialet.

Syfte: Syftet med studien är att belysa hur 11 september-attackerna gestaltades i svensk och brittisk morgonpress en vecka efter händelserna. Tyngdpunkten i undersökningen ligger på jämförelsen mellan tidningarnas gestaltningar av händelserna.Frågeställningar: Hur gestaltas nyheten veckan efter katastrofen? Vilka likheter och skillnader finns mellan tidningarnas gestaltningar? Hur ser förhållandet mellan text respektive bilder/Nyhetsgrafik ut i de båda tidningarna?Teori: Studiens teoretiska ramverk är gestaltningsteorin och främst Robert Entmans modeller. Gestaltningsteorin handlar om mediernas inflytande över hur människor upplever och uppfattar den verklighet vi lever i. Då studien är en jämförelse mellan svensk och brittisk dagspress kontextualiseras studien genom en skildring av situationen för dagspressen i respektive land.Metod: Uppsatsen har undersökt gestaltningar i medieinnehåll genom att använda kvantitativ innehållsanalys som metod för insamling av empiriskt material.
