Introduction: Today caring for newborn, sick babies or premature infants is in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). There is an opportunity in NICUs for advanced critical care and skilled nursing care of the child, conducted by health professionals in an active partnership with parents. To encourage parental participation in the care of their children parents are offered accommodation in a family room in the NICU. Objective: The aim is to describe parents' experience to stay in a family room in the NICU when their child is cared for there. Method: This is a research plan for a qualitative study with an inductive, descriptive approach.

Bakgrund. Miljön på intensivvårdsavdelningen är fylld av olika stimuli i form av ljud och ljus. Sjuksköterskorna arbetar bedside och täta omvårdnadsåtgärder är nödvändiga för dessa kritiskt sjuka patienter. Denna miljö lämnar en liten möjlighet för sömn och vila. För att patienterna ska få möjlighet till vila under dagtid har vissa intensivvårdsavdelningar lagt in en period med mindre aktivitet, tysta timmen, också kallat patientvila.

Bakgrund: Andelen äldre i befolkningen blir allt större i många länder så även i Sverige. Ensamhet är ett aktuellt folkhälsoproblem för denna åldersgrupp. Det finns flera mer eller mindre omfattande definitioner av ensamhet inom forskningen vilket är ett bevis på hur komplext begreppet är. Det finns flera olika orsaker till varför en människa blir ensam och vad detta kan leda till. En viktig aspekt av ensamheten är att den även har en självvald positiv sida som kan leda till hälsa, något som är lätt att förbise då man oftast tänker på ensamhet som lidande inom vården.Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att ta reda på hur ensamheten hos äldre kan lindras och vad som gör den uthärdlig samt vilka omvårdnadsåtgärder sjuksköterskan kan vidta för att lindra och förebygga ensamhet.Metod: Uppsatsen är en litteraturöversikt som syftar till att ge en övergripande bild av hur forskningen på området ser ut.

Background: Sweden is one of many countries which have a long history of immigration during the past decades. Each yearSweden receives numerous immigrants from different parts of the world, which has madeSweden to a multi-culture country.Aim: The aim was to describe nurses? experiences of encounters with patients from different cultures.Method: A literature-based study based on qualitative research, nine scientific articles were performed.Result: The analysis of the data resulted in four themes such as; insufficient communication, family members as a link to the patient, unfamiliar situation, and attentive to the patients? vulnerability with seven subthemes.Conclusion: For a well functioning encounter between nurse and patient from different cultures, a prerequisite is that the nurses establish a relationship based on good communication with the patient and relatives. This can prevent inequality, suffering based on lack of nursing, violation and misunderstandings..

The field of veterinary nursing should be based upon research and proven experience. Few studies have been performed within the area of distal limb bandages. Therefore the aim of this study was to examine and describe how to place a distal fore limb bandage based on proven experience. Data material was collected through four interviews with professional veterinary nurses, and then analyzed using a qualitative content analysis. In the analysis data material was transcribed and then divided into meaningful units that responded to the aim. The meaningful units were then condensed.

Aim: To evaluate nurse student?s apprehension of an interprofessional seminar as part of training. Method: A descriptive, qualitative study built on the analysis of 43 questionnaires and one group interview with nurse student?s who participated in the seminar. For the analysis of the collected material we used the method of analysis of contents as described by Graneheim and Lundman.
