Syftet med denna studie var att genom analys av tillgänglig litteratur inom området advocacy in nursing klarlägga innebörden av begreppet advocacy sett från sjukvårdens synpunkt, vem/vilka som skall ha funktionen som advocate i sjukvården, hur advocacy i praktiken bäst skall beskrivas inom sjukvården samt hur den som skall ha rollen som advocate bäst skall utbildas och föreberedas för sin uppgift. Som metod användes studium och analys av en selektion av tillgänglig litteratur inom området med speciell inriktning mot den egentliga innebörden av begreppet advocacy, argument för och emot sjuksköterskans funktion i rollen som advocate, hur advocacy bäst skall integreras och tillämpas i vårdprocessen och hur den som har rollen som advocate bäst skall förberedas för den. Resultat av litteraturstudien visade brist på enhetlig definition av begreppet advocacy, vilket skapar svårigheter att analysera och jämföra erfarenheter inom området. Även om motargument beskrevs, talade all erfarenhet inom området i denna studie för att sjuksköterskan är den mest lämpade att ha denna roll. Risken för att sjuksköterskan vid fullgörande av denna uppgift hamnar i en konfliktsituation mot övrig vårdpersonal betonades genomgående i denna litteratur, illustrerande betydelsen av att advocacy utförs som ett teamarbete med stöd och medverkan av all personal även om sjuksköterskan har huvudrollen.

The food industry is one of the fastest growing industries in Swedish e-commerce today. However, e-commerce still represents a very small part of the total food sales in Sweden. Experts have noted that, in order for e-commerce to expand in this field, Internet food sales must increase.The aim of this study is to form an understanding of why Swedes do not purchase more food products online. The theoretical framework consists of various marketing theories concerning consumer behavior and the acceptance of new innovations. The methodology used for the purpose of this study has a qualitative approach and in order to answer the questions at hand two focus groups were assembled.

The aim of this study is to look at how librarians express theirpart in reading groups organized by public libraries. Thestudy is based on interviews with seven public librarians insouth regions of Sweden. The main theory used to analyse isfound in the article Bibliotekaren som litteraturformidler(1994) written by the Norwegian librarian Jofrid KarnerSmidt, where she talks about five different roles that alibrarian can have in this context and how they appear. Threeof these roles were used in this study: the pedagogue, theliterature expert and the marketer.The interviewed librarians mostly had a similar view on howthey look at their role in the reading group. I am going to look into how people from that region looks upon their identity. Do they consider themselves as Swedish, Tornedaling or Finnish? I have two research questions on this topic: 1) What does a person from Tornedalen consider their identity? 2) If the way the Swedish state treated Tornedalen, from around the middle of the nineteenth century to the middle of the twentieth century, has affected the way people from this region looks upon their own culture, and if the treatment has affected peoples view of the Swedish state.

Uppfattningen om äldre och åldrandet påverkar synen på behov och problem samt hur omvårdnad och bemötande sker mot äldre. Olika åldrandeteorier påverkar omvårdnadspersonalens synsätt på åldrandet, vilket i sin tur påverkar de äldre. Gerotranscendens är en åldrandeteori som beskriver åldrandet som något positivt.Syftet med studien var att presentera teorin om gerotranscendens för omvårdnadspersonal på ett särskilt boende och undersöka om de anser att kunskap om gerotranscendens förändrar deras synsätt gentemot äldre.Studien har utförts genom semistrukturerade intervjuer med 12 omvårdnadspersonal på ett särskilt boende. Data har analyserats med en kvalitativ innehållsanalys.Denna studie tyder på att kunskap i teorier om åldrandet ger en ökad förståelse för åldrandet och en medvetenhet hos omvårdnadspersonalen hur de kan känna igen tecken på gerotranscendens och därmed främja äldres väg mot gerotranscendens. Studien tyder även på att kunskapen om gerotranscendens har gett omvårdnadspersonalen andra redskap att använda i omvårdnaden av de äldre.Omvårdnadspersonalen har genom kunskap i teorin om gerotranscendens fått en medvetenhet om att de genom förändrade arbetsmetoder och annan samtalsteknik med de äldre kan främja de äldres väg mot gerotranscendens..

This essay deals with the subject of communication through Facebook. In this survey we studied 100 youths from Karlstad and their communication habits and behavior patterns on Facebook. The social network site Facebook has since its start in 2004 made a mark in modern communication. Today in 2010 the site has more than 500 million users. This paper wants to study what happens to other types of communication.

The aim of this paper was to illuminate the effect of mentalizationbased psychotherapy. The patients in the survey group were interviewed before and after treatment with regard to specific symptoms of borderline personality disorder and symptoms of other personality disorders with the semi structured interviews ZAN-BPD and SCID-II. Open interview questions that were worked up in a qualitative manner were as well put to the patients that had received the treatment program. A focus group interview with the staff working with the concept within the frame of the MBT-team of Psychiatry southwest in Stockholm was also carried out. The result shows on a group level between the pre and post measuring a reduction of specific borderline symptoms like impulsivity and cognitive symptoms.

Thisrelatively new platform for socialising has become of cultural and social significance,which is why it calls for examination and research. Thus, the main research questionsasked in this thesis are as following: How does players of MMOGs utilise the nighcomplete anonymity to present or modify their identities online? In which ways areMMOGs used as a platform for socialising and development of social groupdynamics? After observing a large group of players in a popular MMOG, as well asconducting several interviews with key identities within the group, I discovered three fundamental parts of identity creation, and created a model for use and applicationin different social situations and constellations..

Cancer is one of the most feared diseases in veterinary medicine today, and the incidence is higher than ever due to the fact that our companion animals live longer then they did ten to twenty years ago. Cancer is also one of the most common causes of mortality in older companion animals. This literature review will be about two of the currently most common form of cancer treatment of companion animals in Swedish animal hospitals, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. There will also be a section of general nursing care for cancer patients. The section of chemotherapy will describe the indications for choosing chemotherapy, the way to administrate chemotherapeutic drugs, describe specific chemotherapeutic drugs, potential side effects of chemotherapy, and how to handle and store chemotherapeutic drugs safely. The section of radiation therapy will describe the current devices for delivering radiation therapy, describe the indications for choosing radiation therapy and describe potential side effects that radiation therapy may cause.

The aim of this study was to understand how evaluations are implemented and used in procured nursing homes for elderly. Our methodological approach consisted of a single-case study research. The case in this study was Växjö municipality. Three procured nursing homes for elderly were chosen in the municipality as examples of implementation and use of evaluation. The method for retrieving empirical data and the analyzing of it was based on triangulation.

Uppsatsen är till formen en reflekterande vetenskaplig essä som undersöker akutsjuksköterskans yrkespraktik. Den egna erfarenheten gestaltad i form av en berättelse från ett arbetspass på sjukhuset är i fokus och undersökningen tar sitt avstamp i den. Det som belyses är de olika kunskapsformer som akutsjuksköterskan lutar sig mot när hon använder sin "kliniska blick"och hur de samverkar och är beroende av varandra. Kunskapsformerna är hämtade från Aristoteles kunskapsbegrepp och stort utrymme ges till den praktiska kunskapen och den praktiska klokheten, som av Aristoteles benämndes fronesis. Texten undersöker också det för sjuksköterskan centrala begreppet omvårdnad utifrån den egna erfarenheten.

This report describes the initial work intended for updating the car sharing service Roadmate. Roadmate is one of the services received by the car rental company Hertz First Rent a Car. The goal was to present the client with design- and structure proposals for a car sharing service that includes high usability and at the same time remains aesthetically pleasing.The work is based on an initial study with data collection, mapping the target user group and its needs. Subsequent structural and design proposals for Roadmates company carpooling service are based on the facts surrounding the target group's needs. The result are well developed and tested design sketches with accompanying visual identity and sitemaps that can be the basis for the further work on the development of the service..
