Stroke är ett samlingsnamn för hjärninfarkt och hjärnblödning och är en av devanligaste orsakerna till funktionsnedsättning och dödsfall i västvärlden. Personersom drabbats av stroke är den grupp som upptar flest vårdplatser i svensk sjukvårdidag. Insjuknandet i stroke är plötsligt och får stora konsekvenser för individens liv,såväl fysiska, psykiska som sociala. Sjukdom är en av de faktorer som påverkarpersoners upplevelse av sin livskvalitet. Livskvalitet är ett subjektivt begrepp sombeskriver en persons upplevelse av sin livssituation.

En viktig del av den svenska välfärden är kommunens äldreomsorg för personer över 65 år, där Socialtjänstlagen ger rättighet till vårdboende och andra servicetjänster när det behövs. Kommunernas kommunaltjänst ska enligt Socialtjänstlagen vara av god kvalitet. Rapportering av avvikande händelser är en av hörnpelarna i arbetet med att förbättra kvalitet och säkerhet i vården. Avvikelserapportering bidrar till att undvika att negativa händelser upprepas, samt att rutiner förbättras för att höja kvalitet. Genom att ta tillvara möjligheterna med avvikelserapporter kan kvaliteten på vårdboenden förbättras och utvecklas.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka vårdpersonalens tillämpning av tvångsmetoder i omvårdnaden av demenssjuka personer på gruppboende. Detta gjordes genom att författarna studerade vilka tvångsmetoder, av vilka anledningar, utifrån vilka åsikter samt vilka alternativa vägar som istället kan tillämpas. För att uppnå syftet genomfördes en kvalitativ litteraturstudie med hjälp av nio vetenskapliga artiklar. Resultatet visade att vårdpersonal i huvudsak använder tvångsmetoder för den demenssjukes eget bästa. Det framkom även att kunskap och kompetens hos vårdpersonalen är betydelsefullt för i vilken utsträckning som tvångsmetoder används.

Discharge of untreated wastewater leads to unnaturally high levels of nitrogen and phosphorus in rivers, lakes and the sea, which results in unbalanced ecosystems with eutrophication and lack of oxygen. Part of the phosphorus in surface waters is coming from on-site wastewater treatment from scattered households with unsatisfactory purification. Blast furnace slag is a by-product from iron production, and has in laboratory trials showed good phosphorus binding capacity. To test blast furnace slag as a reactive filter media for phosphorus separation in a full scale experiment, a wastewater treatment plant has been built behind the picnic area at Ångersjön alongside the road E4 in central-eastern Sweden. The plant contains two parallel lines, one with blast furnaces slag and the other with Filtralite-P as phosphorus sorbent. Both filters have showed decreasing phosphorus purification effect with time in spite of a low wastewater load.

This study describes how the women lived with breast cancer. The purpose with this study was to describe the womens' view on the disease and the understanding they hade on the social support they were depended on. The method was a study of literature with article reviews according to Polit et al., 2001. As theoretical frame of reference we choose Carnevalis model, Everyday life -Functional state of health. The result showed that the following four groups were formed: Support, positive and negative support off nursing staff and significant others.

The aim of this littrature review has been to describe how you can satisfy the need of nourishment for older people who suffer from dementia. Data has been retrieved by searches in Academic Search Elite, Sience Direct, Blackwell, PubMed and in the Journal Vård i Norden. The studies show that most of the people with dementia have a hard time to satisfy the nourishment. The results show that through different preventive measurement you can improve the nourishment for these people, to set the table, play calm music and to have a table companion. By taking the food oneself created a good meal environment and the individually need was provided for.

Introduktion: Att vänta på ambulans kan antas betyda ett vårdlidande för patienter. Det finns möjlighet för larmoperatören på SOS-alarm att prioritera på ett sådant sätt att väntetiden varierar patienter emellan. Det är också möjligt för ambulanssjuksköterskan att fördröja tiden från det att uppdraget tilldelats till det att ambulansen startas. Tidigare forskning pekar på kopplingar mellan vårdlidande och väntan på vård. Föreliggande pilotstudie mäter skillnader i väntetid mellan två socialt skilda stadsdelar i Göteborg och relaterar väntetid i termer av vårdlidande.

Death can be seen as a sensitive subject and can by that be difficult for many people to talk about. Working as a nurse can imply caring for severe ill and dying patients, which can be regarded as a task that makes great demands. The aim of the present literature review is to illustrate nurses' experiences of problems in association with the care of dying patients to be aware of these. Nine scientific articles were analysed and the result showed that the problems the nurses experienced could be related to four different categories: problems related to organisa-tion/resources, to the nurse herself, to the patient and to family members. The literature review also illustrates consequences of these problems for nurses, and which components that could simplify the nursing care of dying patients..

In this thesis we propose a conceptual plan for thedevelopment of an Agroforestry Training Centre (ATC)in Musoma, Tanzania. The aim is to make a proposalto support peasant education in agroforestry. How canan ATC in Musoma be developed into a stimulatingand educational park suitable for teaching agroforestrymethods to peasant farmers and other potential users?To answer that a field study was conducted to investigatehow our client Vi Agroforestry Programme (Vi) and thetarget groups of the client can benefit from the site.The thesis begins with a short explanation of thecontext, in which the ATC plays a part followed by amethodology chapter. This bachelor thesis in Landscape Architecture is about the planning and design of public spaces in small towns in Sweden. My opinion is that the small towns often are overlooked and my determination is to see if that is right. The purpose with this thesis in Landscape Architecture, with focus on a durable society is to find the central public places in small towns and evaluate their function. This thesis has a focus on good design of central public spaces, designed for the inhabitants of the small towns. A small town, which is the focus of this thesis, is defined to have 200-2000 inhabitants. The small towns, which often are built around industries or the railway, have since the nineteen seventies a problem with people leaving them for the cities in the urbanization. Currently there is also the opposite trend with people moving out from the cities, but to live on the country side, not in the small towns.

The private sewage systems in Sweden releases around 600 tons of phosphorus per year, compared to about 350 tons from municipal sewage treatment plants, and they account for approximately 21% of the total anthropogenic discharge of phosphorus into Swedish waters. About 40% of Sweden's nearly 1 million private sewage systems are inferior with respect to emissions to surface and groundwater. The technology of small sewage plants is under development and knowledge of treatment effects for different solutions is poorly consolidated. Municipal authorities lack resources to keep up with the technologic development and assess the reliability of the treatment performances that suppliers report for their products. The thesis aims to conduct a market review and evaluation of wholly or partially prefabricated small sewage plants, to make it easier for municipalities and property owners to assess different technical solutions. The goal is a compilation of the products on the market, evaluated on the basis of the reliability of specified degrees of reduction.Information on sampling procedures and test results were collected through a questionnaire to all active suppliers and the responses were then used to classify the products.

During the last couple of years the focus for many businesses have moved from just being price oriented to include such factors as quality, flexibility, service, delivery precision and environmentally friendliness. The shift in viewpoint arises from the increasingly competition on the market and the hard economic atmosphere. It has become more important to differentiate the company and its products to be able to increase market share. The purpose with this master?s thesis was to get a better understanding on how companies (customer to DHL) are reasoning and prioritizing when choosing Swedish carriers.

The health care organisation is built upon a hierarchical and gender segregated structure. The purpose of this study is to investigate and describe interprofessional relations between nurses and doctors within this context and to examine which factors may affect this relationship. The theoretical framework for the study is Yvonne Hirdman's feminist discussion on gender issues. The method consists of a literature review and includes eight scientific articles and one PhD thesis. The results show that the relationship between nurses and doctors is affected by several factors, among them power, gender and communication.

Inom vården är empati en viktig grund för vårdarbetet. Forskning har visat att om man känner en ökad empati för en person i nöd så ökar tendensen att hjälpa denne. Frågesällningarna var ifall personal blir utmattade i högre grad vid hög empati och om distansering har att göra med hur länge man har arbetat inom sitt yrke. En kvantitativ studie med 109 mentalskötare och undersköterskor påvisade signifikanta skillnader inom yrkena på empati, utmattning och distans. Undersköterskor uppvisade en högre empati än mentalskötare.
