Bakgrund:Patienter som vårdas på grund av självskadebeteende inom slutenvården har ökat sedan 1990- talet. Det första mötet dessa patienter har med sjukvården är ofta på akutmottagningar, som främst är utformade för att effektivt vårda patienter som är fysiskt sjuka. Patienter som med självskadebeteende har ofta svårt att kommunicera sina känslor till andra. Samtidigt som de upplever att de bemöts negativt av sjuksköterskor i vården. Attityder hos sjuksköterskor påverkar omvårdnaden genom hur de tänker, känner och handlar gentemot patienten.Syfte:Syftet med detta examensarbete är att beskriva akutsjuksköterskors attityder gentemot patienter med ett självskadebeteende.Metod: En allmän litteraturöversikt baserad på 9 vetenskapliga studier varav 6 var kvantitativa och 3 kvalitativa.

Stroke is one of the most common diseases in Sweden and the third most common cause of death (National guidelines concerning stroke, 2000). Dysphagia is a common problem for stroke patients with almost 50 percent of patients suffering from severe swallowing dysfunction (Axelsson, Asplund, Norberg & Eriksson, 1989). The purpose of this study was to investigate how stroke patients with dysphagia experience their swallowing disorders. The method used was a qualitative literature study. An analysis of content was carried out using ideas and inspiration from Graneheim and Lundman (2003).

Multipel skleros, MS, är en kronisk neurologisk, autoimmun sjukdom, som oftast debuterar hos personer mellan 20-40 år, mest kvinnor. Det är cirka en per tusen invånare som insjuknar. Sjukdomen orsakar funktionsnedsättningar av olika grad och omfattning. Ett dominerande symtom vid multipel skleros är smärta. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att hitta omvårdnadsåtgärder, som kan lindra smärta hos personer med sjukdomen.

A peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC line) is a catheter that is inserted through a peripheral vein in the arm and then on to a central vein in the chest. It is used to give injections and infusions and to take blood samples of patients who need treatment for longer periods.The aim of this study was to investigate nurses' perceived knowledge of the care and use of PICC line in wards where PICC line does not occur daily. The aim was also to investigate if the nurses expressed a need and wished for more knowledge to be able to use PICC line, and if PICC line is not used investigate the cause of that.The study was of a descriptive design with quantitative approach. An online survey was answered by 40 nurses from five wards at a university hospital in central Sweden.A large number of the nurses who responded to the survey reported that they lacked knowledge of the care and use of PICC line. Despite this, three-quarters of the nurses usually use PICC line at the infusion / injection / blood tests on patients with PICC line, if they are cared for in their ward.

As reptiles are becoming more common as patients in veterinary clinics, there is a need for creating new procedures regarding the care of exotic pets. The aim of this study was to develop a wound care routine adapted to reptiles, which can be used independently by a veterinary nurse due to the absence of prescription drugs or surgical techniques. The study was conducted by compiling the available research regarding wound care in reptiles, as well as research from related fields. The result indicates that polyurethane films and chlorhexidine-alcohol may advantageously be used on these patients. Hydrocolloid dressings and silver sulfadiazine dressings have adverse effects on wound healing and should not be used routinely in reptiles.

Abstract: A public service sector in constant reformation is a common phenomenon in Sweden. This also includes the municipal care organisations. A central role in those reformations has the public middle chief who often is the one to implemented reforms to the organiza-tion's staff.This study is examining the role of the public middle manager in care organisations dur-ing the implementation of common ideologies value foundation in a present organisa-tion's reform. The study tries to elucidate in which way the public middle managers in municipal care organisations experience their roles, which expectations the management of the organisation has on their roles and how a present organisation changes inflict on the contents of the role. If the middle manager in a municipal care organisation feels like normative for the personal group is another aspect.There are four concepts used as theoretic framework in the study, organization, imple-mentation and public middle managers in a general aspect and the middle manager in a municipal care organisation in a specific aspect.

Bakgrund: Sexualitet är inte per automatik synonymt med samlag, förmåga till orgasm eller summan av individens erotiska liv. Begreppet utvidgas i denna litteraturstudie till att innefatta människans kärlekssökande, hur känslolivet tar sig i uttryck samt hur sexualitet uttrycks via beröring. Då en människa drabbas av sjukdom eller skada påverkas hens upplevelse av hälsa och välbefinnande. Palliativ vård bygger på ett förhållningssätt som förbättrar patienternas och deras familjers livskvalitet genom att förebygga och lindra både fysiskt och psykiskt lidande. Syfte: Att belysa hur sexualitet berörs inom palliativ vård sett utifrån patienternas perspektiv.

Middle managers in social care find themselves in a middle position. The middle management position involves demands from several interested parties. The demands affect and generate feelings both within themselves and within others and the middle managers have to deal with them all.The aim of this study was to investigate the social care middle manager?s personal experiences of emotions in work.We have completed interviews with four middle managers who are assigned to carry out social care. When doing the interviews we used an interview guide divided into different interview areas.

SAMMANFATTNING Syftet med denna studie var att ta reda på vad sjuksköterskan upplever som sitt inre etiska ansvar samt lyfta fram och reflektera över den etiska dimensionen i omvårdnaden. Studien är empirisk och grundar sig på en kvalitativ metod med innehållsanalys. Data har samlats in från fyra intervjuade verksamma allmänsjuksköterskor. Forskningen anknyter till Katie Erikssons omvårdnadsteori samt till Iréne von Post. Etiken hos de intervjuade sjuksköterskorna förknippades till stor del utifrån ett medicinskt perspektiv.

För att effektivisera arbetet skaffa sig organisationen nya system eller försöker förbättra det redan befintligt systemet. En användare kan reagera på olika sätt vid införandet av ett nytt system beroende på olika faktorer hos systemet eller personen. Jag studerade ett komplett Care-system som används inom äldreomsorgen. Ett Care-system kan bestå av en webbapplikation inklusive digitala och mobila verktyg.

Background: The abortion issue raises many ethical, moral and religious aspectsand is therefore well debated worldwide. In the care for an abortion seeking woman, it isimportant that the nurse find a balance between her and the woman's moral opinions aboutabortion in the quest to achieve good care.Aim: The aim of this study was to describe nurses? experiences of caring for womenundergoing abortion.Methods: Literature review based on ten original articles.Results: Literature review's results highlights two key themes: nurse?s experience of anemotional roller coaster as well as difficulties and challenging experiences at work inabortion care. These two themes consists of three subthemes: to get support in the workthrough to vent thoughts and feelings, how strain and stress affects the nurse's work and as anurse learn to accept the woman?s choice.Discussions: Within abortion care nurses find it difficult dealing with theemotional roller coaster that can occur while they strive to maintain an ethical andprofessional approach.

The aim of this study has been to create an understanding for the situation of an often forgotten group in foster care, the carers? own children. Our main focus has been the experience this group has of foster care, their experience of participation in caring for the foster children and their possible need of support and help. Our chosen method has been qualitative interviews with six adult children of foster carers, two men and four women. The theory used in this study has been Sense of Coherence.Our interviewees gave mainly a positive description of being part of a foster family even though they could give examples of difficult situation and of loss.

Mycket forskning inom ämnet postoperativ smärta är gjord. Det är ett komplext ämne och studier visar att det förekommer att patienter smärtlindras otillräckligt. Syftet med den här studien var att beskriva vilka metoder sjuksköterskan använder sig av för att bedöma akut postoperativ smärta, och vilka för och nackdelar som finns med de olika metoderna. Vi ansåg att en litteraturstudie var mest lämpad för vår studie och har använt oss av tolv artiklar i resultatet. Där identifierade vi fyra kategorier som beskriver hur sjuksköterskan bedömer postoperativ smärta.

Background:There are future challenges for public health and health care in meeting the needs of a growing and ageing population. Today there are evidence of how arts can contribute to health development and of the connections between arts, health, treating and rehabilitating measures. To be able to meet the future challenges there is a need for new methods, perspectives and views about how to stay healthy, enjoy our existence and for wellbeing. Health care has an important role in rehabilitation through the broad contact with the population. The background of the essay is the pilot project Arts on Prescription that was carried out in order to try a new way of rehabilitation with arts as a factor.
