The purpose of the essay is to draw attention to my approach in relation to a boy I choose to call Emil, and how I can increase my understanding of his behavior. I explore conceivable reasons for why he breaks down so often, especially when other children are given attention. Is he simply unusually egoistic, and to a large degree only able to see to his own interests, or am I overlooking the real reasons for his actions.In order to explain the reasons for Emil?s apparent frustration in sensitive situations, I explore the significance of attachment theory. I argue about possible effects of Emil?s parents? way of describing and guiding him, as well as how I, and my colleagues, risk fulfilling and amplifying negative expectations.As the prime reason for his repeated sense of unhappiness seems linked to a lack of empathy, I explore different ways of understanding this, as well as how I might contribute to fostering compassion.

The purpose of this study was to describe senior nurses? expectations concerning how a digital information and communication technology systems (ICT) can contribute to the improvement of care leadership and how it can strengthen ties between the school's theoretical world and the practical clinical work-based training (WP) in nursing. The study has a descriptive design with a qualitative approach. The study involved seven leading care nurses. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva vilka riskfaktorer som kunde leda till höftfraktur hos äldre samt att beskriva vilka preventiva åtgärder sjuksköterskan kunde använda i omvårdnaden för att förhindra höftfraktur. Resultatet baserades på 21 vetenskapliga artiklar skrivna på engelskt språk. Exklusionskriterie var artiklar baserade på individer yngre än 50 år. Artiklarna söktes via databaserna Elin och Blackwell Synergy och skulle vara publicerade från år 1996 till 2006. Även manuell sökning genomfördes utifrån artiklars referenser samt en tidskrift.

The purpose of this study is to investigate what kind of idea a group of students in third grade, who attends a school in the Stockholm area, have on group work in school and how they think it affects their learning.The study is based on two questions:What opinion do the students have about group work?What opinion do the students have about how group work affects their learning?The method I have used to retrieve information has been to interview six different students, where the interviews were both individually and in groups. I started by interviewing students individually and then had a group interview. The idea with the group interview was to end it all with a brief discussion about the thoughts that came up during the individual interviews. I chose a selection of six students, four girls and two boys which they all were at the age of 9 and go to the same school.The socio-cultural and structural perspectives, is those theoretical perspectives that my study is based on.

The aim of the thesis was to better understand how second language learners becomes lingual participants in a Swedish preschool. Using the following research questions: In what situations are SLLs lingual participants at the preschool? What does their emerging language look like? Are the participation any different considering children's time in the new L2 context? What kind of support does SLLs receive at the preschool?Two focal children at the same preschool was studied with ethnography of communication as method. The focal children chosen were one girl (Mandarin L1, 4.0 yrs) who arrived to Sweden and started the preschool two months ago at the time of the study, the other a boy (Serbian L1, 3.9 yrs) who started preschool and learning the L2 one year and two months before the study. Situations where the focal children interacted with other children or adults were analyzed. Results showed that the focal children in interaction with each other understands some of the others intentions before being able to speak about them in the L2.

This is a qualitative study that explores the involvement of the relatives in the special housing based on the perspective of fourteen interviewees working in elderly care, at special housing.The purpose of this study is to analyze the nursing staff's view of the involvement of the relatives and the presence of care provision at special housing. The study is to find out what can constitute support or obstacles to the relatives.Three questions have been presented as the structural basis upon which the objective finds its conclusion. These questions try to explore and identify the forms of support that can help relatives in their involvement in elderly care. There are opportunities and obstacles for the involvement of the relatives in the care of the elderly as well as expectations of nursing staff on the role of the relatives in the care of the elderly which the following study focuses on.The research reflected in this study involves the care staff and their experiences and views on the relatives who have their older live permanently in residential care.In conclusion, the study identifies similar reasoning among respondents regarding to key aspects of the relatives at the special housing. They emphasizes that relatives are needed there and they are important resource for both the residents and the staff.The results indicate that there may be both opportunities and obstacles for the involvement of the relatives.

I takt med att den offentliga välfärden fått snävare ekonomiska ramar har de idéburna organisationerna fått en större roll inom socialt arbete. Utvecklingen har skett på såväl europeisk som nationell nivå och uppmärksammats av både EU och den svenska regeringen. Anafylaxi är en akut, oförutsedd, allergisk reaktion som kan uppkomma när som helst. Alla sjuksköterskor skall ha kunskap om anafylaxi, samt beredskap att ta hand om denna reaktion på ett korrekt sätt. I bakgrunden beskrivs den immunologiska mekanismen vid anafylaxi och allergi, symtom och behandling, samt det omvårdnadsvetenskapliga perspektivet. Syftet med denna litteraturöversikt var att identifiera och beskriva bidragande orsaker som ligger bakom osäkerheten kring anafylaxi och därmed ge en ökad kunskap om anafylaxi i sjuksköterskans professionella omhändertagande. The purpose of this two years master thesis is to examine the potential benefits of using bibliotherapy on elderly Finnish immigrants residing in Sweden and living in geriatric care. The basis of the study is a four week long bibliotherapeutic project implemented at a nursing home for Finnish-speaking people in Stockholm County.Participants were men and women spanning in age from 70 to 90 years old. Common for all the participants was that they had lived their entire adult life in Sweden, their only language was Finnish, and they had the diagnosis of dementia. The study examines the bibliotherapeutic model of Arleen McCarty Hynes and Mary Hynes-Berry, as well as Inger Eriksson?s approach for the use of bibliotherapy in nursing homes and hospices.The empirical analysis is based on field notes from the bibliotherapeutic sessions and from interviews with librarians and nurses involved in the project.

Standardvårdplaner är vanligt förekommande inom hälso- och sjukvård och är under ständig utveckling. Standardvårdplaner är i olika grad evidensbaserade och framtagna med skiftande kvalitet. Standardvårdplaner används som ett hjälpmedel för effektivisering och kvalitetshöjning av vården för en specifik patientgrupp och är en på förhand formulerad vårdplan. Behov av ytterligare forskning efterfrågas om standardvårdplaner faktiskt minskar mängden dubbeldokumentation, leder till ökad tidsvinst och ökad vårdkvalitet. Syftet med föreliggande litteraturstudie var att göra en beskrivning av de effekter som användande av standardvårdplaner leder till.

Syftet med föreliggande beskrivande litteraturstudie var att beskriva och sammanställa bidragande faktorer som påverkar patientens följsamhet till de egenvårdsråd som ges av sjuksköterskan gällande bensårsbehandlingen. I Sverige finns minst 150 000 personer med demens och cirka 20 000 personer insjuknar årligen. Bemötandet av en demenssjuk person har visat sig vara helt avgörande för hur mycket den demenssjuke klarar av och en nära positiv relation mellan demenssjuka och vårdare kan få den sjuke att fungera bättre. Syftet med studien var att belysa vad omvårdnadspersonal på kommunala gruppboenden upplevde som förutsättningar och hinder för att skapa bra bemötande av demenssjuka. Data samlades in via intervjuer och bearbetades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys. De kategorier som framkom var: Medvetenhet om kroppsspråkets betydelse för kommunikation, Viljan till gott samarbete och flexibelt arbetssätt, Stabil personalgrupp, Inställd på den andres behov, Känsla av otillräcklighet och Resursbrist.
