This thesis is an analysis based on the problem of defining a humanitarian intervention and argues when or not, it is appropriate to operate it. The interest lies in finding out whether the argument itself is justifiable,not whether the act of interference was justifiable. My hypothesis is that both private and international operatios misuse the definition "humanitarian interventions" as an excuse to trespass the laws of war. Behind the idea of protecting human rights, freedom and democracy, is the liberalist idea of all individuals being equal. The respect for their freedom and rights drives outside actors to intervene when crimes are comitted against them.

Abstract: When playing in teams, communication is important, not just communication with words but also non-verbal communication such as gestures and body languish. The purpose with this study is to see how there is a co-op among communicating players , between leaders and players and to examine what meaning communication and culture got  in a youth team. The ambition with this study was to increase our knowledge about communication and communicationculture in the youth floorball team. This study is qualitative and was inspired by an ethnographical method so we got the information from observations of a youth floorball team, totally we made four observations. The result were analyzed and categorized from our observation papers.

SAMMANFATTNING Detta examensarbete syftar till att kvalitetssäkra omvårdnaden av hästar med medicinsk kolik på djursjukhusens stationärvårdsavdelning. Genom att bidra med ett förslag till standardvårdplan för hästar med medicinsk kolik vill vi optimera hästens vård och omvårdnad under sjukhusvistelsen. Syftet med att arbeta med standardvårdplaner (SVP) är att skapa högkvalitativ omvårdnad, underlätta dokumentationsarbetet och i förlängningen kunna få mer tid till att se och vårda den enskilde patienten. Kolik är en åkomma med många olika samverkande faktorer, både miljöbetingade och eventuellt ärftliga Kolik i matsmältningskanalen delas ofta in i medicinsk- och kirurgisk kolik och i detta arbete läggs vikten på medicinsk kolik. Huvuddelen (~90 %) av all kolik kräver ingen kirurgi och tillhör därmed gruppen medicinsk kolik. Kolikavsnittet i arbetet är tänkt som en kunskapsöversikt över sjukdomstillståndet och ska användas som ett styrdokument för att trygga en kvalitativ basnivå på omvårdnaden. I standardvårdplanen har ett antal riskområden identifierats och därefter har riskdiagnoser, mål och åtgärder för att uppnå huvudmålet - en kolikfri patient, utarbetats. Därpå utvecklades kryssprotokoll för parametrar vid observation av kolikhäst och för smärtbedömning vid medicinsk kolik. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva och analysera högskoleadjunkters uppfattningar om den kliniska utbildningen i dagens sjuksköterskeprogram. Som metod valdes intervjuer med tio högskoleadjunkter från fyra högskolor i Mellansverige. Framkomna data analyserades kvalitativt, utifrån von Wrights handlingsteoretiska perspektiv med de fyra determinanterna vilja, plikt, förmåga och möjligheter. Vårt resultat visade att högskoleadjunkternas vilja kunde urskiljas i fem underkategorier som gestaltade sig som vilja att: finnas till för de studerande, påverka utbildningens struktur, göra pedagogiska val, utveckla handledningen, och en vilja att handla beträffande den egna yrkesrollen. De plikter högskoleadjunkterna uppfattade i sin yrkesroll handlade om såväl deras egna inre plikter och förväntningar på sig själva, som förväntningar från de studerande, kollegor och skolledning.

Information är en viktig del av sjuksköterskans arbete och hennes pedagogiska roll sätts här på prov. En operation är en stor händelse i en patients liv och det är välkänt att patienter ofta är missnöjda med den information de får. Syftet med denna uppsats var att få fördjupad kunskap om vilken information patienter vill ha inför en operation och hur de upplever den information de får. Detta har gjorts genom en litteraturstudie där vetenskapliga artiklar i ämnet sökts och kritiskt granskats. Därefter sammanställdes resultaten av tolv slutligen valda artiklar till ett gemensamt resultat.

The idea of this study was to critically examine and account for the result found in scientific articles from databases. The aim of this literature review was to investi-gate how nurses can encounter a bereaved person in a crisis situation. Also the encounter of a person at risk of losing someone. Additionally, we investigated if the nursing staff fulfilled these needs. This literature review foremost addresses registered nurses.

In theory, the management control of maintenance functions is described as problematic due to the nature of the work performed in the unit. The purpose of this thesis is to examine these predicted problems in practice. Further,the thesis aims at identifying how these control problems may affect the relationships between the maintenance department and its internal customers. A case study has been conducted in one of Sweden?s largest industrial companies to investigate the said control problems in practice.

Att nästan varje dag konfronteras genom sitt yrke med t ex tragedier, allvarligt skadade eller dödfall upplevs olika av oss alla. Syftet med föreliggande studie var att beskriva krisreaktioner samt möjligheten till krishantering hos vårdpersonalen efter traumavård vid en akutmottagning. En enkät användes för datainsamling. Resultatet visar att personalen upplever krisreaktioner i samband med omhändertagandet av skadade barn samt yngre patienter och vid omhändertagandet av deras anhöriga. Möjlighet till krishantering finns på arbetsplatsen men alla är inte nöjda.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to investigate what prompts student nurses to seek information required to their educational tasks and how they evaluate and utilize that information. The questions addressed in this thesis regard how information retrieval becomes part of student nurses? social practice; which physical and intellectual tools student nurses make use of in their education; and which mediating resources they use to perform their tasks. Roger Säljö?s sociocultural approach provides the theoretical framework for this thesis.

This thesis studies public service social workers' opinions regarding their ability to act with moral courage as loyalty conflicts occur. The purpose of the thesis is to describe the social workers' experiences of their possibilities to stand up for what they believe in. We made qualitative interviews with five social workers in Stockholm. In an effort to pinpoint their experiences we asked them questions about what they want but cannot do and what is stop-ping them, what they do not want to do and why, aswell as what the possible solutions would be as loyalty conflicts occur. We were able to identify five different opinions on the organisa-tional cultures and how the employees' experience the extent of their actions.

SARS [Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome] penetrated China in spring of 2003, created havoc in the social society, exposed weaknesses within the political system and pushed the nation towards a crisis of confidence. At the same time the crisis revitalised the Party's position, brought people from different social stratum together and had a beneficial impact on the populace's knowledge on health related issues.What makes the SARS crisis in China interesting for further and deeper investigation is the method it chose to respond to its national crisis. They plan of response was indeed a retrogression back to "older" times, using methods and propaganda very much like those used during Mao Zedong and later Deng Xiaoping. The first step of response was denial and cover up of the real situation, which quickly turned to unprecedented transparency, as the magnitude of SARS became known. The Party and the government were quick to proclaim themselves as the bearer of the key knowledge and information on how to best fight the disease, this in sharp contrast to the political trend of more co-operation between the private and public sector and political transparency.

Syftet med denna systematiska litteraturstudie var att i vetenskaplig litteratur utifrån sjuksköterskornas perspektiv undersöka vilken inställning sjuksköterskor har till opioidbehandling i palliativ vård. Metoden baserades på systematisk granskning och analys av åtta vetenskapliga artiklar.Resultatet av denna litteraturstudie visar att kunskap och erfarenhet har en positiv påverkan på sjuksköterskornas inställning till opioidbehandling i palliativ vård. Resultatet visade också att sjuksköterskor med kort arbetslivserfarenhet, sjuksköterskors ovana i omvårdnaden av svårt sjuka och döende patienter samt de sjuksköterskor som inte visar förtroende för opioider som behandingsform är motvilliga till opioidadministration..

With good knowledge about the disease and the treatment, the fear and worry of children and parents can be reduced. Children may be helped by painting to express their experiences. In order to have a good care, the care-personnel need to see and understand what the children need. It is important to live an as regular life as possible during the disease and its treatment. The aim of this study was to elucidate how children experience chemotherapy in conection with their cancer disease.

Öckerö kommun var 1999 den kommun i Västra Götaland som hade störst problem med ungdomsfylleri.År 2002 anställdes en drogförebyggande samordnare i kommunen som genomprojektet Alla Överens arbetar för att påverka föräldrar och andra vuxna till att inte tolereraalkohol bland underåriga. Sedan dess har alkoholanvändningen bland ungdomarna sjunkitdrastiskt. Tidigare forskning kring ungdomars alkoholbeteende visar att föräldrars attityd tillungdomsdrickande till stor del påverkar barnens alkoholanvändande. Även faktorer som stödoch kontroll i form av regler och tillsyn har visat sig vara skyddande, medan kontroll i formav bestraffning och hot samt alkohol i hemmet anses mindre bra. Syftet med uppsatsen är attundersöka vilken attityd föräldrarna till elever i högstadiet i Öckerö kommun har till ungdomarsalkoholbeteende, samt hur de genom stöd, kontroll och eget drickande påverkar sinabarns alkoholbeteende.
