Sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av att möta patienter med prediabetes : -En kvalitativ intervjustudie

Background: Prediabetes is caused by relative insulin deficiency and insulin resistance in the body tissue which leads to abnormal blood glucose levels. Prediabetes can over time lead to type 2 diabetes mellitus. To prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes and its complications, it is important to identify early elevated blood glucose levels and thereby prediabetes.Objective: To describe nurses' knowledge and experience regarding the management of patients with prediabetes.Methods: Qualitative descriptive design with individual interviews. Three nurses, three community health nurses and three diabetes nurses were interviewed.Results: The result can be understood from the nurses' experiences of encountering patients with prediabetes. An overarching theme in the analysis was that the nurses are working or aspiring to work preventively.

The study looks at Smålandsposten, which is a large local press in the Växjö area. During the period for this study was the attitude in the local press very negative. The matter of CSR and sustainable products has gained an increased amount of interest in recent years as "green products" are becoming a trend with more "eco"-alternatives in the assortment of many retailers. However, among the increasing number of socially oriented customers, it seems that although they claim an increased demand for these kind of products, its easier to "talk the talk" that to actually "walk the walk". This is due to a discrepancy between attitude and behavior, called the attitude-behavior gap. The purpose of this paper is to examine how to overcome this gap by using three different studies to get a nuanced and reality-based view of the problem. The focus within these different studies is on the potential effects inside the store and how information provided has an effect on perceived credibility and purchase intention.

Sjuksköterskors attityder till patienter med övervikt inom sjukvården

Bakgrund: Övervikt är ett tilltagande problem med sjukskrivningar som leder till ökade kostnader i samhället. Sjuksköterskor kommer ibland i kontakt med patienter med övervikt i olika vårdsammanhang. För att kunna hjälpa patienter med övervikt bör sjuksköterskor använda sig av en attityd utan att kränka patienten. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att undersöka sjuksköterskors attityder till patienter med övervikt inom sjukvården. Metod: Studien genomfo?rdes som en litteraturstudie och baserades pa? tolv vetenskapliga artiklar varav åtta kvantitativa och fyra kvalitativa studier.

Miljödiplomering: En jämförande implementeringsstudie av skolor i Norra Hisingens stadsdel

This thesis is a product of research about how implementation issues occur due to the relationbetween bureaucrats and politicians. Our study treats the democratic dilemma that occurs whenschools are to implement environmental certifications. Through a comparative study we comparetwo schools in Norra Hisingen, a district in Gothenburg municipal where one of the schools iscertificated and one is not. By using theories from top down and bottom up approaches toimplementation we develop key factors that will lead us to answer our research questions.Through text analysis of policy documents and through interviews with bureaucrats we analyzewhat may be the causes for only one of the two schools to be certificated though Gothenburgmunicipal wish all schools to be. Through our analytical tool we can establish that the policydocuments are well formed according to our top down-theory and that these documents does nothave a major impact on the fact that one school is certificated and one is not.

Kulturella värden, tro, levnadssätt och livsstil : faktorer som påverkar sjuksköterskans möte med muslimska patienter

There are over 1,5 billion Muslims living on earth and the religion is one of the world´s most increasing. Sweden is a country with a cultural diversity where about 300 000 Muslims lived in 1999. Today, the requirement for knowledge about caring for Muslims and the need of culturally competent nursing care are increasing.The aim of this study was to define cultural factors which the nurse has to recognize to be able to give culturally competent care to the Muslim patient. The method that has been used was a The Sunrise Model, which illustrates Leininger´s theory of culture care diversity and universality, provides a theoretical framework for the study. The results are presented on the basis of Leininger´s three cultural factors; cultural values, beliefs and lifeways.

AbstractThe aim with the study was to describe and to compare nurse students' views about importantcaring behaviors in order to give good caring. An empirical comparative study wasimplemented on a college in the middle of Sweden. Nurse students in the beginning and at theend of their education sorted and prioritized 50 caring behaviors (CARE-Q). The result showedthat the students' description of important caring behaviors has many similarities. However, theresult also showed that there were significant differences between the student-groups where thestudents at the beginning of their education rated several caring behavior as significant moreimportant than the students in the end of their education.

En intervjustudie gällande skillnad i resutat mellan två avdelningar vid nutritionsmätningar

BackgroundMalnutrition in hospitalized patients has a high prevalence. This led to an action plan against malnutrition that was conducted in 2012 at Enköpings hospital. This paper investigated the nursing staff perceptions of this project on nutrition and nutrient intake in two different departments, and whether these perceptions differ between departments. MethodAn inductive approach with semi-structured interview was used in interviews with eight persons from the staff of the two departments of the hospital in Enköping involved in the project. Interviews were recorded, transcribed and analyzed by content analysis. ResultsIn the interview material four categories were identified as well as six different subcategories. The different categories were: "Attitude", "Knowledge", "Procedures" and "Workload".

Bemötandet av personer som försökt att ta sitt liv : en litteraturöversikt med utgångspunkt från sjuksköterskan

De senaste 20 åren har det skett en ökning av självmordsförsök i Sverige och varje år dör nästan 1 miljon människor i världen på grund av självmord. En stor andel av dessa personer har tidigare varit i kontakt med somatiska vården på grund av självmordsproblematik. Enligt Ida Jean Orlandos interaktionsteori reagerar sjuksköterskan känslomässigt i mötet med patienten och agerar utifrån denna känsla, vilket har en direkt påverkan på bemötandet. Syftet med arbetet var att undersöka sjuksköterskors bemötande av personer som försökt ta sitt liv med utgångspunkt från sjuksköterskan. Arbetet var en litteraturöversikt som grundades på 13 artiklar som granskats enligt Röda Korsets granskningsmall.

Överläkare i ortopedi och kirurgi : Likvärdiga arbeten med lika löner?

This investigation is a pilot survey whose main purpose is to investigate with work evaluation and attitude analysis whether the orthopedists and surgeons work can be equaled, why the wages differences exists between women and men, and also which preventive measures the organization can use to even out the wages differences between the genders. In relation with the investigation I have applied the reflexive way of thinking to establish which difficulties come up in the work of gender-equality.The result?s from work evaluation displays that the works are equivalent but the salaries are not, which can depend on value discrimination,gender discrimination and the organization theory.Wages differences between women and men depend on, according to the informers, partly by historical explanation and partly by the old directors who was allowed to retain regular salary when theypost transformed. The common point of view is that men have a larger work experience and therefore a higher salary.The managements attitude towards gender-equality issues is of absolute importance in order to achieve and bring a change within the organization.The measure positive special treatment is proposed to be used as an improving method to achieve (gender)equality between the posts and to even out the wages difference between the sexes.To establish whether or not gender discrimination exist in the investigated organization there needs to be done a whole lot supplementary studies like a complete wage (salary) mapping which includes all supplements and more interviews among the organizations all occupation groups..

Sexuality - a sensitive issue

Sexualitet är en del av att vara människa och berör själva meningen med livet. Den finns med oss i alla åldrar och livssituationer. Vid sjukdom och behandling påverkas sexualiteten på olika sätt och det är därför viktigt att allmänsjuksköterskan uppmärksammar och berör patientens sexualitet i omvårdnadsarbetet. Trots vetskapen om detta väljer många sjuksköterskor att borste från patientens sexualitet, vilket kan orsaka mycket onödigt lidande för patienten. Sexuell dysfunktion kan även vara det enda tecknet på allvarlig sjukdom och det är därför av stor vikt att sjusköterskan införlivar sexualiteten i omvårdnadsarbetet.
