This final project discusses renewal and upgrading of the area of Prim. It is discussed how this industrial area can be an attractive neighborhood with a varied range of services and commercial trade. Prim is located 2km north-east of the center of Barcelona. The area boarders to a deep railway valley that historically has separated Prim from its neighboring districts. At present there is almost no housing, services or commercial trade within the area and the industry is discontinued or the existing industrial buildings are derelict.

This Master?s thesis explores the staff responsible for children?s culture in the south of Sweden, in north-east Scania. This thesis seeks to answer the following questions: What kind of culture is offered to children in their spare time? Can children influence culture in the investigated region, and do the people in charge listen to the children?s ideas? How are children in the region informed about cultural events? In my research I used enquiries and worked with the investigation program Query & Report to collect the material. The study consists of the staff, i.e.

På så vis deltar byggnaden med sin omgivning där ett extrovert yttre gömmer ett introvert inre. Publika utrymmen är förlagda i söder, mot utsikt och sol, medan arbetsutrymmen är förlagda i norr med ljus lämpligt för såväl måleri som kontorsarbete. Byggnaden kröker sig för att skapa ett allt eftersom växande rum för den anländande besökaren där stadens rum blir byggnadens och vice versa. Byggnadens yttre struktur utgörs av trappstegsindelad rasterdurk som tillåter att byggnaden används som sittyta och bestigs som utsiktsplattform.

Temporary architecture is an alternative urban planning concept which has been adapted in many cities worldwide during the last decade. There is however no common definition for temporary architecture and it is diversely labelled and applied. In 2013 it also became publicly introduced in Stockholm via the approval of the city's first architectural guideline. Temporary architecture is presented in the guideline as a potential tool for exploring public spaces among other architecture related themes. The ideas for temporary architecture are ambitious and promising. The problem is that they are vague and leaves questions regarding performance unanswered.

Abstract I have made a Website called ?Art school? for Liljevalchs art Gallery, Culture administration in Stockholm and Culture school in Stockholm. It is with scholarship from these that this Website has been possible. The work whit the ?Art school? started in the autumn of 2005 and ended in May 2006 on distance from Stockholm towards Blekinge technology school in Karlshamn.

Geothermal energy can be extracted from an aquifer, where the groundwater is used as heatexchange medium while heat and cold are stored in the surrounding material in the aquiferand to some extent in the groundwater. Application of aquifer storage for the use ofgeothermal energy is mainly used in large scale facilities and is limited to sites with suitableaquifers in the form of ridges, sandstone and limestone aquifers.Löwenströmska hospital in the municipality of Upplands Väsby, north of Stockholm, islocated nearby the northern part of the Stockholm esker. This means that it can be profitableand environmentally beneficial for the hospital to examine the possibilities of aquifer storagein the esker material next to its property.The purpose of this master thesis has been to investigate if geothermal energy storage with aseasonal storage of heat and cold can be applied within Löwenströmska hospital?s propertyarea using groundwater modeling. A hydraulic groundwater model was constructed inMODFLOW based on a simplified conceptual model of the groundwater system.

The bicycle is an individual means of transport. Many people prefer to cycle over short distances and in congested areas rather than take travel by car or public transport. This is a study of the use of bicycle as an option for commuting to work. It is a comparison between three cities: Stockholm, Copenhagen and London. The comparison is focused on solutions that benefit commuter cyclist and performed by studying cycle policies and other related documents.

The technological legacy from the early electrification of the Swedish railroads has resulted in a power grid with a lower grid frequency than the national power grid from which it is fed. Energy transfer between these power grids with different frequencies requires substations, adapting the grid frequency for the rail road power grid. For this purpose, a feeding power grid has been built, stretching across the country from Boden in the north to Tälle/Häggvik in the south.Power transfer in the Swedish power grid results in voltage angle differences which increase with increasing loads and transfer distance. These voltage angle differences are transferred from the power feeding substations to the rail road power grid, will in some extent cause loss of energy due to unwanted power flows from north to south.To minimize the losses due to this phenomenon, a power management system called EFS 132 kV has been developed and implemented. The system minimizes the unwanted power flows and controls the desired power flow for a good distribution of loads between the power feeding substations.This thesis investigates the extent of the transmission losses avoided due to the EFS 132 kV that coordinates the idling angles to a common reference point.The results indicate that EFS 132 kV affects the power flow, especially between the northern substations through an improved load distribution.

The subject of this paper is the congestion tax in Stockholm, Sweden. The study has been conducted with the purpose to examine of how public attitudes towards congestion charging looks and the reason behind the attitude. And also to examine if there are any differences in attitudes between those living inside and outside the payment zones, between men and women and between car owners and those who do not own a car or have a driver's license. The study used a questionnaire sent out electronically to a group of friends of friends and of friends? family members.

Miljonprogrammets kommande energiupprustning blir allt mer akut samtidigt som energipriserna i Sverige trappas upp. Med miljötänkets renässans och dagens energikonsumtion är det viktigt att såväl befintliga som nyproducerade fastigheter anpassas och energieffektiviseras. Arbetet grundar sig i den försvarbara investeringen av upprustningen på miljonprogrammets hus samt den rådande bostadsbristen i Stockholm.   I rapporten kan läsaren följa utvecklandet av ett påbggnadsförslag i centrala Stockholm. Förslaget beskrivs utifrån arbetets 3 grundpelare planering, konstruktion och energi. Syftet är att undersöka om en påbyggnad av fastigheten Linjalen 8 är möjlig. Vidare att undersöka om påbyggnaden kan anpassas för en hållbar framtid och exemplifiera energieffektiviseringar.

Jag har valt att placera operan i Frihamnen för jag tror att det är bra för stadens utveckling att flytta ut viktiga byggnader så att innerstaden får växa ochde nya bostadsområderna får en egen, attraktiv karaktär. Operan skulle bli en samlingplats och knutpunkt för den nya värtastaden och skapa ett flöde fråninnerstan till Frihamnen, vilket skulle gynna verksamheter i området och leda till en blandning av bostäder och olika verksamheter..

Någonting händer i Stockholm, någonting strävar uppåt. Staden som tidigare utvidgat sig genom nya förorter och nya kollektivtrafiknät har bytt riktning. Det är inte längre de horisontella spåren som sträcker sig ut från stadskärnan som visar vägen för expanderingen. Det är en ny längtan efter vertikala riktningar där staden förtätas på höjden. Stockholm har tagit sikte mot himlen. Den stad jag föddes och växte upp i håller sakta på att förändras, detta är något jag är säker på.

This thesis scrutinises the material on post World War II Swedish architecture produced by the Swedish Public diplomacy organisation "Svenska institutet" ("The Swedish Institute") during the period of 1945 through 1976. The outset is the dilemma encountered by every such organisation: how can the projected narrative of the own nation relate to as many countries as possible, without becoming too general? And how can the organisation address specific countries, without excluding others?By employing a two-sided model of interpreting the material, where it on the one hand is interpreted from the universal properties projected on the narrated architecture, and on the other hand from the particular ideological notions related to the same, the thesis suggests that the Swedish Institute continously relates the architecture to a West-European and American context by consistently connecting its universal properties to particular ideological notions orientated towards the West.The results underline the malleability in regard to ideological notions connected to modernist architecture. Earlier research in the Swedish context has focussed on how modernist architecture in Sweden, under the local tag "funktionalism", was established in regard to a Swedish audience as a particular Swedish architecture by relating it to a alleged continuos Swedish tradition, as well as to notions of a a progressive welfare state. By studying a similar material, though aimed towards a foreign audience, the thesis suggests that these allegations constitue an elucidatory example of how national and ideological narratives can form within the framework of technological-ideological dynamics of modernist architecture.

This is a study to see the relationship between earnings per share and dividends during a period of both boom and depression. The study will focus on companies listed on Stockholm stock exchange and see if they follow theories from the past and if the dividend is smooth over times with a fluctuant economy. To see this we had this problem:Is it a relationship between earnings per share and dividend during a fluctuant economy, also if there is a difference between the different Caps on Stockholm stock exchange?We studied 163 stocks of the 293 listed stock on Stockholm stock exchange during a period of 8 years. The study is focused on the time period between year 2005 and year 2012.

Kadmiumkällor och risker med exponering för kadmium beskrivs. Svenska nationella och Stockholms kommunala miljömål som rör kadmium gås igenom och analyseras ur olika aspekter. Två olika modeller för flödesanalyser beskrivs och jämförs. Beräkningar för kadmiumflöden i Stockholm 1995 genomförs enligt den ena flödesmodellen. Beräkningarna redovisas i ett Microsoft Excelark tillsammans med några enkla analysverktyg.
