A survey was undertaken to understand sheep management, breeding practices and selection criteria for Red Maasai sheep in Maasai pastoralist communities in Kajiado District, Kenya. Differences between North and South Kajiado District were investigated to gain knowledge about farmers having different prerequisites and how it can affect the sheep production. The reason for keeping sheep and the specific breeds show the multiple objectives of the Maasai farmers. Adaptive traits, such as resistance to diseases and droughts, and productive traits, such as increased growth and carcass weight, were both ranked highly. In addition to this, the sheep has a social and traditional value in Maasai culture.

As to now, no study has been made of the mica tempered pottery found along side the asbestos tempered pottery in Norrland during the Bronze Age and Early Iron Age. Its occurrence has previously only briefly been noted in a few published works and the dating and geographical distribution of mica tempered pottery in the north of Sweden has to a large extent been unknown. This paper aims to compile the available information about this type of pottery and the locations where it has been discovered in order to date and explain the occurrence of mica tempered pottery in Norrland. It's also suggested that the occurrence of mica tempered pottery is connected to the spread of the early metalwork from the east to areas that today makes up the north of Norrland..

Syftet med examensarbetet är att på aktiens första handelsdag undersöka graden av underprissättning på nyintroducerade aktier på OMX Stockholm Large Cap, Mid Cap, Small Cap och First North och vilket samband denna underprissättning har med ledande befattningshavares och styrelses innehav av teckningsoptioner. Undersökningen baseras på 74 företag på OMX Stockholm och First North under perioden januari 2000 till november 2007. Studien visar på två resultat. Det finns inte något visat samband mellan insiders innehav av teckningsoptioner baserade på aktiens introduktionskurs och underprissättning. The purpose of this essay is to examine how Irish people on a rural location practice their faith in everyday life. The intention is also to find out what strategies my interviewees use to negotiate the abuse scandal and what their thoughts on the Catholic Church are. The material mainly consists of interviews with seven people part of a rural parish in Ireland. My research also entails smaller observations and conversations in the homes of the participants.The results indicate that they all consider themselves religious, however not all Catholic. All of the participants integrate their religion in everyday life.

The aim of this essay has been to study six female seniors use and view of the library and its roles. The two Danish scientists Jochumsen and Rasmussen talk about the library in terms of a social center, cultural center, knowledge center and information center. Depending on what lifestyle the seniors belong to in the social room, they use the library differently. The social room consists of four lifestyles, north-west, north-east, south-west and south-east. The things that are important to consider in order to be able to place each senior within the different lifestyles are education level, economic standard, interests and so forth.

Weathering on rocks is an important component of the world?s geomorphology. One way to measure weathering on rocks is to analyse rock hardness. This is a study conducted in the northern hemisphere on granite rocks in Uppsala, Sweden. A Schmidt hammer is used to create a correlation analysis between the aspects on three glacial erratic boulders and rock weathering.

In August 2007 we went to New Zealand for a placement at Child Youth and Family Services. There our interest in Family Group Conferences (FGC) took off. FGC is not near as common in Sweden as in New Zealand. Therefore the purpose of this study was to examine how the Social Services in Helsingborg and Höör in Sweden and Belfast in Northern Ireland work with FGC. We had the privilege to go to Belfast in Northern Ireland as part of the project Insight Europe.

Utgångspunkten för examensarbetet var att med ett arkitektoniskt förslag kommentera urbaniseringens effekter för små orter på landsbygden. Första fasen i projektet bestod av en bred analys av orten Arvidsjaur. Den andra fasen bestod i att forma förslaget. Förslaget blev en innovation baserad på en sammansmältning av följande kvaliteter i Arvidsjaur:- Försvarsmaktens vinterenhet och fjälljägare- Biltestningsindustrin- Ökande naturturism- Bra serviceutbud- Exotisk natur och klimat- God infrastrukturPå grund av att fler människor numer bor i storstäder har intresset för turistresor till den orörda naturen ökat. Den starkast växande gruppen är personer som både vill ut i naturen och samtidigt ha närhet till god service och bekvämlighet.

Mina mål i denna uppsats är att beskriva hur man animerar så att kunden blir nöjd. Vad har kunden för inverkan på processen? Vad ska man tänka på? Projektet vi genomförde var att göra en trailer till ett spel som North Kingdom utvecklat till Disney. Vad gick bra i projektet? Vad gick mindre bra? Vad kunde ha gjorts annorlunda? AbstractA Problem to Every SolutionThe Corrymeela Community, René Girard and the ambiguous pluralismThe main purpose of this study is to examine how Girard´s ideas of society, culture andreligion have become part of the reflexion in the praxis of Corrymeela Community through the work of Roel Kaptein and how this praxis can shed light over the work with dissonances of faith and values in education in RE, Social Studies and other subjects.In earlier publications I have studied how dissonances of faith and values can beunderstood in educational settings and in connection with issues of interreligious dialogue.The extensive discussion of how differences in culture, religion and value in a pluralisticsociety are to be analysed and treated in pedagogical reflexion seems to increasingly occupyactors in different parts of the educational system. It is obvious that these issues also arebrought into focus as an important field of research. My main interest in this paper is to study how a reconciliation group in the middle of the conflict in Northern Ireland has developed a view of conflict reason and conflict resolution under the influence of the French researcher René Girard and what aspects of this study that can improve the reflection over pluralism and dissonances of faith and values in everyday praxis in education.For a period of more than a decade I have been in contact with actors in the peace process inNorthern Ireland in connection to different educational projects. The attempts to analyse the different aspects of ?The Troubles? and the efforts to find ways out of conflicts and civil war are many and the literature on subjects related to these tragic history of social, cultural and religious conflicts is difficult to survey.

Upproren i arabvärlden och Västeuropa har haft olika tillvägagångssätt och olika utfall. Syftet med uppsatsen är att visa att David Kilcullens teori kring upprorsbekämpning är tillämpig oavsett konfliktens natur eller geografiskt läge. Uppsatsen vill illustrera detta genom att pröva teorin mot en annan konflikt än, konflikten på Östtimor och i Irak, ur vilken Kilcullen dragit sina erfarenheter och slutsatser. Min förhoppning är att det inte finns någon skillnad och att teorin därför är fullt tillämplig och därmed även kan användas i ett större perspektiv. Den fråga uppsatsen därmed eftersträvar att svara på är i vilken omfattning är David Kilcullens teorier kring upprorsbekämp-ning tillämpliga på en inomeuropeisk, inomstatlig konflikt likt Nordirland.

The house in this report is located in Kiruna in the north of Sweden, where theclimate is much colder than in the rest of the country.The deepening study of this report is to evaluates how realistic passive housing north of thePolar Circle is based on those facts. The house will to some extent be designed to fit the passivehousing standard.

Uppsatsen behandlar skillnader i regelverken på NGM Equity, First North och Aktietorget samt hur detta påverkar företagen på respektive marknadsplats. Fär att förklara de förhållandena som råder mellan marknadsplatsen, företagen och investerare använder vi oss av teorierna: Det finansiella gapet, Legitimitetsteorin och Intressentteorin. I uppsatsen har vi kommit fram till att de nya marknadsplatserna fyller en viktig funktion för mindre och medelstora företag i tillväxtfas. Vi har dock konstaterat att det föreligger vissa brister gällande upprätthållandet och praxis i det nuvarande gällande regelverken. Detta kan vara en bidragande orsak till att handeln inte alltid fungerar ändamålsenligt.

Since 2005, the number of golf members in Swedish golf clubs has declined. This is a major problem for many golf clubs since it can lead to over establishment of golf courses. This essay is about how golf clubs in North West Skåne, the second golf densest area in the world, work to maintain their members. The sample consists of eight golf clubs which have been geographic delimited by a 30 km radius out of Helsingborg. The research is based on qualitative interviews with the manager of each golf club.

Summary The leaf beetles, Lilioceris lilii and L. merdigera have existed in Asia, Europe and in North Africa for a long time, but have become much more abundant the last twenty-five years. Even North America has been affected during the last years. The purpose of this investigation of Lilioceris species in Sweden, is to give advice to gardeners, which type of control measures is the most effective in order to restrict their damage to lilies. Lilioceris species overwinter normally as pupae in the soil under the host or close by. Literature and contact with advisors have described the life cycle and spreading of Lilioceris. Under favourable conditions these leaf beetles have two generations/year in the south of Sweden. Both the adults and the larva eat the foliage, and by strong attacks even flowers can be eaten and only the stem is remaining. My own observations include different treatments of both lily foliage and of the leaf beetle.
