The investigation is focusing on the development of the organization of knowledge, of the catalogues, of the classification system and of the information retrieval. The thesis examines the factors which force the development of the activity at the library and of the organization of knowledge. The study uses a qualitative approach which is based on investigations of different types of catalogues, of the electronic database, of the classification system, of the subject indexing and on interviews. This is a study of Eyvind Johnson?s novel Stad i ljus from 1928, first published in French as Lettre recommandée, 1927. The purpose has been to prove that motives, themes and narrative techniques characteristic to Johnson?s later writings is present as early as in this novel from the twenties. In the novel as well as in the contemporary short stories Johnson starts to explore the symbiosis between living, traveling and writing and begins to use metafictionality as a method to approach autobiographical material.

This C-essay focuses its research on the taste of guitarplaying and non-guitarplaying soundengineers, in using single or dual microphone setups when recording electric guitar. It will be shown if there is a significant difference in taste when using one or two microphones between the two testsubject groups. Two classical microphone setups have been used for the test of this essay, which includes a blind listening test. The information in this test will benefit both guitarplaying and non-guitarplaying engineers by getting greater knowledge regarding what kind of microphone setups to use for different occations. The findings in this essay show in general, that guitarplaying and non-guitarplaying engineers between the ages of 19 - 26 don?t have a specific taste between single or dual microphone setups when subjected to the blind listening test..

För att kunna avgöra vilken armatur som behövs för en viss applikation och för att se hur en viss armatur lyser har kunder efterfrågat fotometriska filer av formatet EULUMDAT. Fotometriska filer innehåller bland annat information om armaturers ljusfördelning. Den utrustning som Nordic Light AB använder i sitt ljuslabb kan mäta belysningsstyrkan i lux på en kvadratisk yta och sedan sparas mätvärden i en textfil med x- och y- koordinater samt belysningsstyrkor. Detta examensarbete har utförts för att ta reda på vad en fotometrisk fil av formatet EULUMDAT innehåller och om det med Nordic Light AB: s befintliga utrustning går att ta fram en sådan fil.

Vi har studerat ett material som syftar till ett tidigt samarbete mellan hem och skola för att upptäcka barn med läs- och skrivsvårigheter. Studien har genomförts som en komparativ fallstudie, där två vitt skilda kommuner utgjort grunden. Fallbeskrivningarna består av intervjuer, fältanteckningar och delresultat från en större enkätundersökning som genomförts av materialets upphovsmän. Genom att jämföra två olika fall hoppades vi kunna se och beskriva likheter och skillnader och därmed kunna dra slutsatser kring materialets effekter på ett djupare plan. Undersökningen visar på två scenarion gällande effekterna av materialet, ett positivt och ett negativt.

Detta examensarbete, med inriktning emot Industriell design vid Luleå tekniska universitet, behandlar produktutformning av spotlights som monteras på takskenor butiksmiljöer. Även på fackspråk kallat Tracklights. Arbetet är utfört under 10 veckor hos Nordic Light i Skellefteå, som utvecklar, tillverkar och säljer butiksbelysning. Målet med arbetet är att utveckla två stycken tracklights som skulle kunna ingå i Nordic Light´s ökande produktsortiment. Tracklightsen skulle ha ett säljande utseende och motsvara de önskemål som finns hos kunder.

The aim of this study was to map and date glacial flutings with ice flows deviating from the predominating northwesterly ice flow direction in the southern part of Norrbotten County in northern Sweden, and also to investigate if parts of the glacial landscape are older than previously thought. The traditional view is that most landforms in the area were formed during the late Weichselian (W3). Analysis of the new high resolution elevation model (2 m grid) derived from laser scanning was performed after treating the data with a hillshade tool in ArcMap to reveal terrain features such as flutings. The analysis resulted in a map showing four main groups of deviating ice flows (N-S, NO-SV, SO-NV and S-N) and several westerly ice flows. The majority of flutings with deviating ice flows were found in low terrain.

This thesis investigates the effect of profit growth and profitability on market capitalization amongst Nordic companies during the turbulent period 1997-2005. Our results suggest that profitability have a significant impact on market capitalization for six of the nine years studied, whereas profit growth does not seem to affect market capitalization. Consequently, our results imply that the effect of other factors on share price performance may be greater than previously suggested. These findings are only partly in line with theories on corporate valuation which suggest that market capitalizations are to a great extent driven by both profit growth and capital returns, regardless of whether the stock market is particularly unstable..

Syftet är att undersöka hur fyra affektiva personlighetsgrupper skiljer sig i stress, sömnsvårigheter och smärta. De fyra affektiva personlighetstyperna är självförverkligande, lågaffektiva, högaffektiva och självdestruktiva. Studien inkluderade färdiginsamlad data från The Middle Sweden Pain and Sleep Project. I studien deltog 611 män och 838 kvinnor i varierande åldrar (M=46.93, SD=12.73). Det visade sig att det fanns signifikanta skillnader i stress, sömnsvårigheter och smärta mellan grupperna.
