Varför väljer föräldrar en kristen friskola?
The purpose of this essay is to illustrate the ideas that have influenced parents' choice of a Christian private school and how parents justify their choices. The essay also aims to examine the expectations that parents have in the schools, as well as the pros and cons as they consider private school compared to other schools. My study is based on qualitative data collected through interviews with parents who have chosen to place one or more of their children in a specific Christian private school. Using a qualitative approach has made it possible for me to get a deeper understanding of this investigation. I have also used the previous research on this field and theoretical starting points to explain and connect to my inquiry as Maslow's hierarchy of needs and the school Weber document types and identity in a multicultural society. The study shows that parents seek to or from the public school due to various reasons. To seek out a Christian private school depends on different reasons.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate whether the lower secondary school teaching in religion leads to a positive understanding and openness, concerning different religions and cultures. We want to study how pupils in grade eight and nine in two lower secondary schools in a multicultural community comprehend different religions. Since we choose a pupils perspective we decided to do a questionnaire to get a wide ground. As a complement we interviewed twelve pupils and also did observations during their religion classes. During our study we focused on three different themes.
"Vem har sagt att man ska tro?" : En kvalitativ studie av religiositet på svenska landsbygden
AbstractThe aim of this study is to examine how individuals, part of a rural Christian parish, express their religiosity and beliefs in a Swedish context. Furthermore this study seeksto understand these religious expressions through different views on social construction, secularization and the privatization perspective, such as lived religion, in particular. Byusing qualitative interviews with 8 individuals analyzed with the theories mentionedabove my results show that secularization has provided many individuals with aChristian identity, however, not necessarily a Christian faith. Instead several of theparticipants show a self-developed religious expression not automatically connectedwith Christian religious practices. One of the participants has, despite a Christiansocialization, developed a non-religious identity.
KONUNGAVÄLDE ELLER FOLKVÄLDE? Kristen press om rösträttsreformen 1907-11 och borggårdskrisen 1914
This paper seeks to clarify the attitudes and positions of five Swedish Christiannewspapers in relation to the Suffrage reform (1907-11) and the Courtyardcrisis (1914). Furthermore I try to investigate the reasons behind their attitudesand positions. The five newspapers examined are: Göteborgs Stifts-Tidning,Församlingsbladet, Vår Lösen, Svenska Morgonbladet and Wecko-Posten.The results of my research show both convergence and divergence. Commonfor the newspapers is their criticism of the political agitation on the basisof ethics and that they all, except for Göteborgs Stifts-Tidning, recognizedemocratic principles. Divergence is evident, for example, in the reactions tothe consequences of the Courtyard crisis.I have distinguished three main factors that may help to explain the attitudesand positions of the newspapers?: nationalism versus internationalism, confessionalism and polarized political positions, and have found that the conceptof a ?Christian press? can be defended as well as put into question.
MUSIK TILL GUDS ÄRA - SYNDIGT ELLER GOTT? : En studie av kvinnors musicerande i den tidigkristna kyrkan
This thesis aims to investigate and discuss the possibility for women in the early Christian church to make music, which in the ancient Roman society was something complicated. Afemale musician was looked upon as decadent and dissolute. This idea, in combination with the music ideals of the church influenced by the Neoplatonic movement, and the Pauline statement (1 Cor. 14:34-36), cast women to be completely prohibited in participating even in the psalmody during the service. My purpose is to discuss how this was looked upon in different Christian regions, using the church fathers as the main material source, since this has not previously been well documented or studied..
Läppar röda som blod : En strukturell analys av kristna symboler i Walt Disneys och Rupert Sanders versioner av Snövit
Snow White is one of the most popular fairytales to our time. There has been much research on the subject. `Lips red as blood- a structural analysis of Christian symbols´ in Walt Disneys and Rupert Sanders versions of Snow White` by Emma Svanström aims not to give a final answer to how Snow White should be interpreted. But rather the objective is to examine two versions in the search for any possible Christian influences and changes in such over time. The two versions are Walt Disney?s Snow white and the seven dwarfs and Rupert Sanders Snow White and the huntsman.
Heliga vatten : Vattencentrerad kult och vattnets symbolik under Skandinaviens kristnande
This essay aims to explore continuity in water centric cult within the period of the Christianization of Scandinavia (ca 800-1100 AD) and to understand the changing of symbolism of water in pre-Christian cult and early Christian religion. It has previously been thought that Christian priests took over the old holy wells and renamed them after saint, all to ease the pagan people into a Christian lifestyle. But archaeological evidence shows that the cult at these wells, and other water centric sites, where almost completely abandoned a few hundred years before the Christians came to Scandinavia. The Christians should not have felt the need to transform this tradition since it was only practiced in a very small and supposedly private scale. On the contrary, religious activities at these wells seems to increase with the new religion and perhaps this is explained by Christianity itself.
"Folk brukar vilja falla här" : En studie om religiösa kroppsliga upplevelser hos kristna karismatiker
In this paper I aimed to explore the bodily experiences and expressions that Christian charismatics interpret as religious. The so-called presence of God and the so-called gifts of the spirit were in focus in the gathering of information. My purpose was to find out how the social community of the Christian charismatics affects the subjective bodily experiences that are interpreted as religious by the individual. The main questions were:1: How do Christian charismatics describe religious experiences and their effect on the body?2: What bodily expressions of religious experience can be observed in Christian charismatic contexts?3: Is there a common way of expressing the experience of God's presence (individually or in a group) and how, in this case, can any resemblance be explained? The methods used to answer these questions were qualitative interviews and participant observations, which then were analyzed by the anthropologist Thomas J. Csordas theory of embodiment.

SAB-systemet och ämnet religion en studie av ett klassifikationssystems förmåga att klassificera en vetenskaplig discipline.
Classification systems express an idea of the world as it was when the systems was made. The ideas which are behind the classification of the subject religion in the SAB-system have been analysed, as well as the structuring of the scientific discipline Religion at the universities. The result will show if the SAB-system can classify the subject religion in a satisfying way at university libraries.
Kristen djupmeditation som religiös praxis i Svenska kyrkan
The Church of Sweden has in recent years offered activities such as Christian deep medita-tion, mindfulness and health days. This may be a way for the Church of Sweden to reach the modern man who would not otherwise have come to the church, but there are critics who argue that new spirituality has made its entry in the Church of Sweden. The phenomenon of Christian deep meditation has become increasingly common in the Church of Sweden. In order to satisfy my curiosity about what a Christian deep meditation is, I decided to write an essay about this. My question is as follows: How important is Christian deep meditation as a religious practice in the Church of Sweden? This essay is a qualitative study and I have cho-sen to perform eight pieces of interviews, two of them are recorded.

The schoolbooks are from the years 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2009. The perspectives are from a religious viewing point, that means that the women are religious, Jewish feminists and Hindu feminists. The theories used are written by these women and are academic litterature. The questions are how are women represented in the schoolbooks, is the feminist critique present or are the two religions represented and described in an invariable way, and is the description of Judaism and Hinduism consistent with the curriculum? The text analysis used in this examination means that reality is organized through and by the language used by the actors in that reality.
Vad inneb?r agape och agapekultivering? En studie av samtida agapeteologi fr?n feministteologiskt och psykologiskt perspektiv
The main purpose of this study is to explore and develop how the Christian conception of love
as agape can be understood in light of feminist concerns, and how it can be cultivated in light
of psychological research. Traditionally, agape has been defined as unconditional self-sacrifice
for the sake of the other. Feminist theologians have highlighted repeatedly that an ethical
principle of self-sacrifice might not be liberating for groups who have already internalized
pressure to sacrifice their own needs for others. The main research questions are: 1) How may
agape be understood in light of feminist concerns about its traditional interpretations? 2) How
could a Christian community cultivate a form of agape that is responsive to feminist concerns?
In order to answer these questions, the first part of the dissertation examines feminist concerns
regarding discussion of agape, and then uses these concerns as a lens for analysing four themes
in contemporary accounts of agape: community, care, humility, and mentalization.
