Population growth leads to an increased need for new buildings, both residential and commercial. The regulations of structural design also changes with time. From a sustainable community perspective it may be profitable if existing buildings, that no longer performs their original function, are reconditioned. This report describes an investigation of the indoor climate in two different workspaces. Since we a big part of our lives are staying indoors in artificial environments, and more particularly in our workplaces, we think it would be interesting to do this investigation. The technical solutions for air treatment systems began with simple natural systems without fans and where the thermal rise of the air applied. In modern time is technical air treating systems used to take care of the fresh air supply. This type of units can supply filtered air with the right temperature to the building. Well-functioning ventilation is essential to bring clean fresh air to the room and effectively remove impurities without sound- or draught problems. The indoor climate is relevant for the output capacity.

The making of a cultural historical exhibition usually involves the collaboration of two categories of professionals: the curator, in charge of the exhibition content, and the designer. From these positions, representing content and form, the team is in charge of cooperating towards a shared goal ? the exhibition ? which is the spatial expression of ideas.This MA thesis is based on my work experience as a designer of cultural historical exhibitions. By means of situations where my perspective collided with that of the museum curators?, I examine our different concepts on a number of issues: the meaning of an exhibition; the process; and the perception of what our respective roles are.

People who live in northern part of the world spend much more time indoors than those who live in warmer countries. In addition that home should be safe, it should also protect one against heat, cold, sunlight and pollution. The main purpose of this study is to inquire whether music can function as a supportive and compensating tool for children from various kinds of social exposure. Eurhythmics is the musical method focused on, since it consciously works out of a socializing perspective. The study involves a scheme with poor children in Argentin (autumn 2005) and is based upon two interviews with women working professionally with both the social and the musical aspect of the current question. Notes from the above mentioned project are added to the interviews. The possible conclusion from the end results is that the individual as well as the dynamics of the group (as a whole) draw positive benefits from not only the music itself but also the structure and the elements of it.

Allteftersom svenska företag utökar sina verksamheter på den globala marknaden uppstår nya möjligheter men även nya risker. De flesta länder har nu ett rörligt växelkurssystem vilket lett till att företagens valutarisker ökat. Volatiliteten på valutamarknaden har under de senaste åren ökat i omfattning vilket ökar betydelsen av fungerande valutariskhantering.Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur vissa svenska multinationella företag hanterar sina valutarisker och om det har förändrats i tider av hög volatilitet på valutamarknaden och förändrat konjunktursläge.Hur identifierar och hanterar företag sina valutaexponeringar?Vilka faktorer inverkar på ett företags valutariskhantering?Förändras valutariskhanteringen vid ökad volatilitet på valutamarknaden och förändrat konjunkturläge?I uppsatsen har vi använt oss utav en kvalitativ metod med ett hermeneutiskt synsätt för att uppnå en djupare förståelse av ämnet och på grund utav att uppsatsens syfte kräver en metod som möjliggör för oss författare att förstå tankesättet bakom handlingarna. Vi startade med att samla in sekundärdata för att skapa en teoretisk referensram att använda som bas att utgå våra intervjuer ifrån och analysera datan.Slutsatserna vi som uppsatsskrivare kommit fram till av studien är att den ökade volatiliteten påverkat valutariskhanteringen och intresset av valutariskhantering ute på operativ nivå i företagen ökat.

Syfte: Hantering av valutarisker i ett exporterande företag kan vara avgörande för att nå framgång. Syftet är att undersöka hur valutariskexponering uppstår samt att se hur valutarisk hanteras i två exporterande företag. Uppsatsen behandlar ett stort multinationellt företag och ett mindre företag. Studien jämför olika förhållningssätt i de två företagen samt hur extern respektive intern hantering av riskerna kan skilja sig.Metod: I studien har en kvalitativ ansats tillämpats genom intervjuer med representativa befattningshavare i de båda företagen. Intervjuerna utgår från ett hermeneutiskt synsätt som sedan också till stor del är genomgående i uppsatsen.

Background: Since1994, the EU NickelDirective is limiting the release of nickel from objects that are in prolongedcontact with skin. Despite this, nickel is still the most common cause of contactallergy in industrialized countries. This could implicate that other productswith short contact to the skin, which are not restricted by EU´s legislation inREACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicalsubstances), could be a source of nickel or cobalt exposure. There is no limitfor cobalt release within REACH. To determine if there is cobalt or nickelpresent on the surface of a material and if metal can be released in contactwith the skin, there are quantitative and qualitative methods, such as the DMG(dimethylglyoxime)-test, the cobalt spot-test and a method for releasedetermination according to EN1811.Objectives: Laptops are not included in the REACH legislation.

This thesis examines how to improve the exhibition of products within retail for clothes and gift articles. The purpose is to investigate and test how light sources and different directions of light affect how the products are perceived regarding their exhibition. Our question formulations are:To what degree does the level of light in combination with the background of the interior design of a shop affect whether a product is perceived more or less attractive?What can we recommend to make the exhibition of products more attractive? From our observations shops nowadays have relatively high levels of light when they expose products on vertical areas. We have looked on the recommendation from ?Energimyndigheten? in order to see what they think is important when designing retail lightening.

Water is the most essential resource for life. In cases where drinking water is processed from surface water it is important to ensure the raw water is of good quality, and is suitable for processing through the water treatment plant.The drinking water for Västerås is sourced from Västeråsfjärden, in the western side of Lake Mälaren. The city itself is home to marinas, ports, a wastewater treatment plant, the Svartån outlet, sewage pumping stations and stormwater outlets. Because of the negative effects these activities have on surface water quality, Mälarenergi AB is interested in relocating the raw water intake point to Granfjärden, 10 km east of Västeråsfjärden. At Granfjärden the intake point would be less exposed to the activities in Västerås, and could be placed at a greater depth, resulting in better water quality.In this Master?s thesis the water quality and the pollution risks at Västeråsfjärden and Granfjärden sites are compared.

This essay examines how public planners and the inhabitants of södra Gårda relate to the physical planning of the area and to the demolition versus the preservation of the quarters Eken and Cedern, and how the dialogue between planners and citizens appears to be. How do the planners and policymakers relate to citizen participation in urban planning, and how is participatory planning carried out in the legislation, rhetorically and in practice. Former research indicates a distinct gap between rhetorics, legislation and actions in practice regarding citizen participation in planning, which is why we find it an interesting topic for further research. The essay aims to highlight the different actors interests and visions of the development of the area. Which are the standpoints and arguments the different actors set out for the future visions of the area? The essay focuses on citizen participation in urban planning in the city of Gothenburg.
