This thesis is performed as a summarizing project for the mechanical engineering education at School of Engineering in Jönköping. All knowledge necessary to complete this thesis was gathered from previous courses and education.This project was to develop a new product for the company TR Equipment AB in TranÄs. The new product is going to be based on an already existing product, TR 1700. TR 1700 is a bathtub equipped with a height adjustable function. This product is used in retirement homes and in the care of disabled people.

Syftet med denna uppsats Àr att studera fyra kvinnors syn pÄ tid, struktur och kreativitet pÄ servicedesignbyrÄn Transformator design. Genom intervjuer och deltagande observation undersöker jag hur tid, struktur och kreativitet samspelar för mina informanter, och hur de anvÀnder tiden. Slutsatsen av denna studie Àr i korthet att kontrollen av tid Àr viktig för upplevelsen av tid. Strukturer, synliga och osynliga, Àr centrala för att se och förstÄ tiden och upprÀtthÄlla kontrollen av tid. Informanternas strÀvan Àr att skapa fylld tid, som Àr vÀrdefull tid, och genom kontroll av tiden skapa en positiv kÀnsla av att ha tid.
Ekologisk gestaltning : en utvÀrdering av hur landskapsarkitektur pÄverkas av ett ekologiskt förhÄllningssÀtt
This paper examines and compares several different sites in Sweden in addition to one in Mexico regarding whether the ecological requirements theses sites have had during planning and construction has affected the design in any way. Is it possible that, for different reasons, one thinks ?like nature? when one thinks of ecology and, if true, how does this reflect on the spatial and structural design? This paper tries to identify if some sort of general design expression is used in projects with requirements on ecological sustainability. In total, five projects have been compared in different areas such as choice of materials and their composition.
These projects have an ecologically sustainable processing of water in common, although most also have ecological consideration in other areas as well.

This thesis of 15 hp has been implemented at Halmstad University, in collaboration with Saab Dynamics in Linköping. Saab Dynamics is a company operating in the defence industry where competition is tough. This necessitates new ways to increase efficiency in the company, which is the basis for this thesis. Saab Dynamics wants to introduce simulation driven design. Since Saab Dynamics engineers have little experience of simulation, required a user methodology with clear guidelines.

ADHD has for a long time been perceived as something that affects children and grows away with time. American psychiatric association state that ADHD may appear differently with adolescences and adults than with children. That could lead to misunderstandings and exclusion by adults and adolescences with ADHD at work life amongst other situations. This report investigates that exclusion and tries to find what information that needs to reach certain target groups to prevent it from happen.The works focus is text design, a part of information design, and looks firstly at the factors that make good information material. Then I investigate if there is a need for more information about ADHD within working life and if so what it would contain.

Spatial design for children nine to twelve years old at the Halmstad City Library. An investigation about the specific needs of the target group and how the child department can be designed to stimulate their experience of visiting the library. The aim was to create a spatial concept from the children?s ideas that inspires to playfulness and lust to read at the library. A more personal goal was to collaborate with an external part to prepare for my future role as a designer within child culture.

The object of the thesis is to propose a new lighting plan
for the square Fyristorg in Uppsala, and to describe the
process which have led to it.
It all started when I choosed the place together with the
municipality of Uppsala.
I have been doing research and analyzed how the place
and itÂŽs existing lighting works both during different times
of the day and also in the evening.
After researching the place and itÂŽs existing lighting IÂŽve
decided to put up the following goals fot the new lighting
design.
1. The general light level of the place shall be experienced
as higher than today.
2. The light level of the place shall be adapted to the light
levels of surrounding places.
3. The lighting shall be free from glare.
4. The lighting shall be adapted to people passing by.
5.The lighting shall be adapted to the surrounding
architecture.

During spring 2001 we have been involved with our bachelor thesis at Doberman Digital Agency, an Internet related webdesign company. We have focused our work on the registration process via digital medias such as the Internet. During our workprocess we have been conducting a number of studies and analyses of workrelated materials. Ethnographical methods such as structured interviews and participant observations were primarily used in our work. We also widely used brainstorming in our designprocess.
Den interaktiva djurparken / The interactive zoo
The purpose of this thesis project is to develop a set of interactive digital solutions designed to enhance the interest and knowledge intake of visitors at SkÄnes Djurpark (Zoo of Scania) in Höör. The project was carried out in collaboration with SkÄnes Djurpark and representatives from its visitors. Our thesis is based on academic works in the fields of interaction design, exhibit design and contextual learning. Ethnographical field studies have been conducted at SkÄnes Djurpark with additional field studies at Tropikariet in Helsingborg, Copenhagen Zoo and Regionmuseet Kristianstad. Existing information signs in SkÄnes Djurpark are primarily image- and textbased, forcing visitors to divert their attention from the different species of Nordic animals that inhabit the zoological park.

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) is a further development of the Six Sigma draft to carry through preventing quality measures in developing and designing of new products and processes. With increasing demands on enterprises development processes to be more safety and faster the need of DFSS arise as a product, process and service development concept in the organisations. Design for Six Sigma aims to improve and structure the development process of an organisation and consider the application of the innovation problem solving. The concept aims to leave the structure of the traditional Six Sigma concept and instead, from an innovative perspective, search for new solutions to existing problems. The concept constitute of a toolbox with a lot of quality tools that are divided into phases in a development model.
Co-design av Co-design ? Förslag pÄ riktlinjer för arbetssÀttet och utformningen av kravspecifikationer
Co-design Àr en filosofi som kan tillÀmpas under en systemutvecklingsprocess. Grundtanken iCo-design Àr att man ska titta pÄ verkligheten utifrÄn flera olika perspektiv för att sedan vÀljadet mest lÀmpliga perspektivet. Co-design har bara tillÀmpats under ettsystemutvecklingsprojekt och det Àr e-Me projektet som genomfördes pÄ Högskolan i BorÄs.Under e-Me projekt sÄ utgick man frÄn anvÀndarna, som dÄ var studenter, och tog, genomworkshops med anvÀndarna, fram storyboards och scenarier. Dessa storyboards och scenarierlÄg sedan till grund för kravspecifikationen i e-Me. NÀr utvecklarna sedan mottogkravspecifikationen sÄ blev det problem eftersom serierna inte var tillrÀckligt detaljerade menocksÄ för att utvecklarna inte varit delaktiga i utvecklingen av dem.
KartlÀggning av plastkorkar och förslag till förbÀttringar för den australiensiska marknaden
The project Design analysis and proposals of plastic screw caps in Australia was performed at Högskolan Dalarna incooperation with University of Western Sydney, Australia. The Swedish company Tetra Pak, in Lund, were assigner forthe project that was performed 2006-2007. The commission was to do a survey about the packages for non-carbonateddrinks in Australia. The bottles had to be plastic, able to open in one step and with focus on the caps.The project has result in design analysis and a new proposal of a plastic screw cap for the Australian market. Sixbottles were choosen and they were all testet on 20 consumers each with a Likert-scale test.
