ABSTRACTBackground: Most cases of lumbar disc herniation are asymptomatic. When symptomatic, LDH may cause a significant physical and mental distress. Initially, most patients are treated conservative but sometimes operations may be required.Aim: The aim of this study was to provide a review of the scientific basis of physiotherapy, including behavioural therapy, as a treatment to lumbar disc herniation regarding pain, function and the size of disc herniation in people suffering from lumbar disc herniation.Method: Four databases were used in the searches of literature. Assessment of the validity of the studies was done with the PEDro-scale and valuation of evidence rate was made according to guidelines made by the Swedish Council on Health Technology Assessment (SBU).Result: Nine RCT-studies were included with a total of 713 participants. The scientific basis is moderate to support a pain reduction and limited regarding improvement of physical function when it comes to physical exercises, including MDT.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to analyse how adult students in Swedish adult education seek information for school tasks. The focus is on how they use the public library and electronic information sources and their reflection on information and sources in this process. Also of interest in the study is the help they receive from staff in the public library and their teacher. Methods used in collecting and analysing data for this study were of qualitative nature.

Syfte: Med utgångspunkt i de nedåtgående resultaten kring läsförståelse, som mätningarna PISA (2009) och PIRLS (2006) visat, är syftet med denna studie att förstå hur läsförståelsearbetet i årskurs 4-6 ser ut. Litteraturgenomgång: Studien utgår från ett sociokulturellt perspektiv där lärande sker i sociala sammanhang. Vi har även utgått från ett literacyperspektiv där skriftspråkliga aktiviteter påverkas av sociala och kulturella sammanhang. Vidare har tidigare forskning om läsförståelse valts ut för att ge oss en djupare förståelse samt för att vi ska kunna analysera och tolka vårt resultat. Metod: Vi har använt oss av kvalitativ forskning där kvalitativa samtalsintervjuer, av semistrukturerad karaktär, har använts som en metod för att samla in empiri. Resultat: Det resultat studien visar är att alla fem lärare ser på läsförståelse som något mer än att endast kunna avkoda. Resultatet visar även att lärarna, på olika sätt, aktivt arbetar för att utveckla elevers läsförståelse. The objective for this Master?s thesis is to study literary programs for infants at six Swedish public libraries, their relevance and importance for infants and how the infant?s perspective in the program design and implementation is taken into consideration. The questions I pose are: In which way do the programs take the infants need for development and their literary prerequisites into consideration? Which functions can the programs have for infants? I have used a qualitative method, based on deep interviews with six library staff, working with literary programs. A model was developed based upon Daniel Stern?s theories of the interpersonal world of the infant together with Joseph Appleyard?s reading development theory.

Studies among parents of children with disabilities have shown that they experience a higher level of parenting stress as well as a lower degree of wellbeing, compared to parents of children without disabilities. However, there is a need to further explore parents? experience on this matter within a Swedish context. The aim of the current study was to examine how parents of preschool children, with and without disabilities, in Västerbotten, experience the impact of their child. A sample of 67 parents of children with disabilities and 134 parents of children without disabilities took part in the questionnaire study.

The object with the study of this literature was to describe differente programs of care and patients and relatives experience and opinion about the caring for patients with Anorexia Nervosa. The method the author used was a descriptive literature study based on imperial studies. The studies were based on 15 scientific articles within the chosen field. The results shows that these patients hade special needs to be seen and heard as individuals, involved in their own treatment, and have good contact with the caring staff. The study also shows which methods were mostly appreciated involving nurses, patients and relatives.

This essay is investigating what type of sources we trust, depending on how the information in these sources is created and provided. To exemplify, the sources Wikipedia and Nationalencyklopedin (the Swedish National Encyclopedia) were used, each one representing different approaches. The first is a representation of the collective intelligence, where anyone can contribute with their knowledge to the public ? freedom under responsibility. The latter represents peer-reviewed knowledge, desirable enough to have people paying for it? true and unaffected.Based on theories of source criticism, collective intelligence, expertise and the different generations of digital natives and digital immigrants, two focus groups were conducted and analysed.

Research is a time-consuming endeavor which requires appropriate tools to manage often vast amounts of information. Militarization 2.0 is a research project aiming to explore Militarization in social media. The aim of this project is to design a user interface for supporting researchers in projects involving large amounts of data in qualitative studies. The project will follow the design process of the first version of the Militarization 2.0 research database interface. The design process involves user studies, interviews and design and testing of paper and digital prototypes.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att belysa pedagogers syn på erfarenhetspedagogik och användandet av elevers populärkultur i undervisningen. Undersökningen genomfördes på två skolor i områden som skilde sig geografiskt, ekonomiskt, akademiskt och kulturellt. Materialet samlades in genom intervjuer med sex stycken pedagoger samt en enkätundersökning bland 57 elever på dessa skolor. Inledande kapitel behandlar begreppsförklaring och vad tidigare forskning säger angående erfarenhetspedagogik och populärkultur i undervisningen. Undersökningarna visade att pedagogerna inte använde elevernas vardagsintressen som ett pedagogiskt hjälpmedel i undervisningen.

This study aims to draw attention to the discourse of Swedish language teachers and their literary repertoires from a didactic perspective. This leeds to the following inquiries: ?how to define and delineate a broader concept of text;? ?how realized is this concept in Swedish upper secondary schools;? and ?how does the use of the broader concept of text effect the ability to learn.? The empirical data comprise group interviews with six teachers who work at two different schools, in different towns, located in southern Sweden. The data are transcribed and carefully analysed by tools consistent with methodological approaches. The theoretical framework consists of discursive psychology.

The aim of this study has been to create a future scenario of what archiving might look like in the future. The main theory used in the study comes from future studies, but also a theory about the social impact of technology on work were used. The questions that were analysed were about the tasks of the archivist, the appearance of the archival institution, collaboration with other LAM institutions, knowledge requirements for the archivist and the amount of archivist positions. The method used in the study was scenario writing, which derives from future studies. The source material consisted among other things of regulations and laws related to archiving together with some archival manuals.The tasks of the future archivist will probably consist of the same tasks as those of present archivists who work with digital archiving, even though archivists probably forever also will have to work a little with paper records.The future archival institution will probably retain its paper records and keep its digital records on digital storage media.

The keywords were: obesity paradox, cardiovascular, heart, male, BMI, intentional weight loss, cardiovascular mortality and mortality heart failure.Selection criteria: Studies, which had an adult population classified after BMI that suffered from chronic cardiovascular disease and had all-cause mortality and cardiovascular mortality as endpoints, were included.Data collection and analysis: Ten studies were included.

Dessa böcker har blivit bästsäljare och har inspirerat många ledare inför nya utmaningar angående personalfrågor. Kända managementförfattare har alltså stor påverkan för hur individ och ledarskap uppfattas i samhället, samt för att förstärka en viss vision om hur människors beteende borde utformas för att företagsmässiga mål skall kunna uppnås. Denna studies syfte var att öka förståelsen för populär managementlitteraturs maktdimensioner. Tre bästsäljande managementböcker från sekelskiftet analyserades genom en foucaultinspirerad diskursanalys, med fokus på styrningsmentalitet, disciplin och människosyn.

In this thesis we focus on the issue of master suppression techniques and how they take form on Facebook. The research in area of master suppression techniques online is limited and therefore the purpose of this thesis is to create a greater understanding of the online environment of Facebook. We have used a method of netnographic observation studies and content analysis to create a triangular perspective of the subject. Based on the result of our observation studies we draw the conclusion that you can see signs of some of the master suppression techniques on Facebook. We also argue why others don?t show up.
