AbstractThe purpose with this essay is to present a picture of the changes in religious education in Sweden, and to make comparisons between Denmark?s and the USA?s model about teaching in religion. I have consequently described the historical development, with the beginning of the establishement of the public school, inte the year of 1842. 1919, a new document about the religious education was released, wich result in some major changes. This was in a time were the debate about religion and the Lutheran State Church of Sweden authority was an issue.

Transformation of inorganic mercury (Hg) to methyl mercury (MeHg) is a biotic process that is proposed to be conducted primarily by sulphate reducing bacteria (SRB). The formation of MeHg is of great interest because it is the mercury species that biomagnifies to the greatest extent in the aquatic food webs; about 90 % of all Hg in fish is MeHg. Our understanding of factors involved in the production of MeHg is very important for making a reliable risk assessment. The purposes of this study were to investigate the different factors that control the solubility of Hg and the production of MeHg in a contaminated lake sediment. The lake Ala-Lombolo, Kiruna municipality, is well-known to be contaminated by mercury from different sources. Sediment cores were sampled at three different locations (N, SW and SE) in the lake and divided in three different layers; 0-5, 5-10 and 10-15 cm.

The aim of the essay is to investigate how the term ?Third world? is constructed in media. With this I intend to make a historical survey of the conception. With the help of Swedish newspapers and their description of the concept, I am going to answer the following questions: How is the concept ?Third world? constructed in script, in a historical context and in modern time? Is there a tendency of racism in the term?The method I used was discourse analysis.

The purpose with this essay is to analyze Adlerz writing within the context of the fiery debate in the 1880?s between the liberal so called ?cultural radical? members of the student organization called Verdandi, and the conservative, uniform oskarian culture named after the Swedish king of the period. I have applied a version of Quentin Skinner?s method, which focuses on the context of a specific writing in order to find out the authors intention, the effect the author hoped to achieve. My questions regard certain themes I discovered in the text and, more importantly, the relationship between these themes and the surrounding debate.

En enkätundersökning och en intervjuundersökning med hermeneutisk utgångspunkt ligger till grund för detta. Enkätundersökningen visade att attityden var neutral lutandes åt det negativa, medan intervjuundersökningen visade en allmänt positiv inställning till datorspel i undervisning. Denna diskrepans kunde åtminstone delvis spåras till att vissa av respondenterna på enkätundersökningen, som utgjorde underlag till intervjupersonerna, var, av någon anledning, mer positiva i intervjusituationen än när de svarade på enkäten. Den positiva inställning som intervjuundersökningen resulterade i stämde väl överens med den tidigare forskning som gjorts på lärare i Sverige.

The study is based on three Swedish novels published in 1945,1956 and 1964, and three Swedish novels published in 1998, 2008and 2009. The aim has been to investigate how librarians are portrayed in Swedish literature, as well as a comparison between the older and the newer literature. What librarian images are portrayed in the analyzed literature? Is the portrayal mostly positive, negative or neutral? Are there any clear differences in how librarians portrayed in newer and older Swedish fiction? If so, what are they? The method used has been qualitative content analysis where relevant paragraphs have been coded and divided them into categories of appearance, personality, and professional identity. The conclusion is that the librarian is often portrayed as an intellectual and somewhat high-strung bibliophile.

Känslan och trovärdigheten en animerad karaktär i film eller spel förmedlar är viktig för ett bra resultat. Denna känsla och trovärdighet är dock något som är svårt att nå fram till. Med hjälp av teorier från en koreograf och dansteoretiker vid namn Rudolf Laban undersöker detta arbete om det går att lättare hitta fram till en bra karaktär. Åtta gångcykler har skapats utifrån Labans åtta rörelsekaraktäristika,  alla gestaltade med samma figur. Dessa gångcykler har sedan använts för att besvara frågeställningen om det med en neutral figur går att visa på karaktär, endast genom rörelser.

The purpose of this study is to examine and explain why three Swedish public libraries failedin their ambition to act as information services for small and medium-sized firms (SMF). To support this purpose two major assumptions are made:1) Public libraries who plan to run this kind of "business" must act with the same means as "professional" services.2) The service must be adjusted to the information needs of the customer.Based on these assumptions sixteen factors which are crucial to the "success" for this kind of service are presented.Applied to the information services of Lidkoping, Sölvesborg and Västervik, these factors reveal a number of shortcomings and mistakes made by the libraries.To understand this result these information services are seen as parts of a traditional Swedish public "library-thought". It is shown that, fundamental ideas in the way the public libraries are defined, like the responsibility to act in a neutral and democratic way, also characterised the three information services.These ideas together with the opinion of SMF as a "rational" information-consumer resulted in information services who did not meet the information-needs and information-behaviour of SMF..

This essay focuses on men?s construction of feminism and gender and views on equality between the sexes. The purpose of the essay is met through interviews with eight men on their thoughts and constructions of these issues. The answers from the interviewed men were analysed with a radical feminist and gender perspective approach. The sources used in the analysis of the material, in the aspect of gender, were from the work of Judith Butler, Robert W.

During our teacher training, focusing on history and Swedish at further education level, we have noticed a discrepancy in the way history is portrayed in further education and higher education literature. Accounts of historical ideas, events and developments have often wrongly been depicted as non-gender specific, that is, of equal relevance to both men and women. To what extent is it made clear in further education textbooks that Rousseau?s treatise on education was exclusively aimed at the male gender, and how are the gender-specific aspects of his ideas described? What role and space are set aside for women in the accounts of the struggle for the universal right to vote in Sweden at the turn of the century in 1900, and how is the unions? initial exclusion of female workers portrayed? Focusing on the above historical events and developments, this study aimes to examine whether or not gender-specific issues are described as gender neutral in a selection of history textbooks for further education published in Sweden between 1982 and 2003..

Examensarbetet försöker mäta och beskriva huruvida den värdegrund som uttrycks i grundskolans läroplan (Lpo94) återfinns i läroböcker för högstadiet i ämnet historia. Arbetet består av en litteraturstudie samt en kvalitativ textanalys av tre läroböckers beskrivningar av två olika historiska epoker.Arbetets syfte är att redogöra för hur läroböckerna beskriver de två historiska epokerna utifrån ett perspektiv att de bör förmedla värdegrunden samt att göra en jämförelse mellan hur detta görs i de två olika epokerna.Arbetet visar på att läroböckerna intar en neutral och faktaförmedlande hållning. Läroböckernas olika kapitel skiljer sig åt då olika historiska epoker beskrivs olika och att innehållet därmed skiljer sig åt på ett sätt som får konsekvenser för förmedlingen av värdegrunden. En slutsats av detta är hur betydelsefull lärarens insatts är för förmedlingen av skolans värdegrund..

The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate three web-based search engines and compare the 10 first retrieved documents. We used the search engines Google, Yahoo! and Exalead. The evaluation is based upon 20 topics with strong polarized opinions and these have been derived from Swedish media and every day life. From these topics we have constructed the 20 queries used for searching. The 10 first documents are each placed in four different categories, For, Against, Neutral or Irrelevant.

The aim of this thesis was to examine what expressions for objectivity there were to identify/find in newspaper journalism?s report about the FRA-law during the period 2008-06- 13 to 2009-10-14.We choose to analyze ten articles from the morning paper Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet, five from each one. The method we used was a qualitative text analysis. We then designed an own model for the objectivity ideal from without the old theories that were available and also came with own ideas. Then we used that model as starting-point and designed key points to identify objectivity in the articles.Our thesis showed that the articles often fail when it comes to two key points.
