Ett examensarbete som undersöker relationen mellan social stigmatisering och hjälpmedelsformgivning, med en vision om att ta fram en funktionell kryckkäpp anpassad för lågtidsanvändning där formen och det visuella uttrycket inte uppfattas som ett handikapp.Genom analys av standardkryckan från Swereco, intervjuer med sjukgymnaster, hjälpmedelsansvariga och långtidsanvändare av kryckkäppar lades en grund för formgivningsarbetet. Designprocessen ITK (Identity Tool Kit) har utgjort diskussions- och intervjuunderlag och en nära kontakt med en extern mentor som uteslutande jobbar i avancerade kompositmaterial har gett stöd åt produktion- och formgivningsprocess.Resultatet blev en avskalad, organisk och genusneutral kryckkäpp i ett avancerat kompositmaterial, Thermoplastic Composites. Materialet och tillverkningsmetoden hos ett företag som heter Fiberforge tillåter en inbyggd svikt i handtaget, vilket i sin tur förhoppningsvis kan vara ett steg i ledet att minska risken för nervskadan "ulnar nerve compression" som lätt uppstår mellan tumme och pekfinger..

I ett samarbete med Färggrossen i Nybro har en miljöanpassad förvaring/ettset med professionellt utplockade produkter för inomhusmåleri formgivits. Produktens huvudanvändare är den kommersiella och tillfälliga målaren. Målet med att utforma ett set är att förenkla för användaren vid köp av produkter, förlänga artefakternas livscykler genom att uppmuntra till bättreskötsel och att formge en estetiskt tilltalande förpackning som är enkel attförvara såväl i hemmet som i garaget eller i verkstaden. Ett lyckat samarbete med Färggrossen, samt observationer och reflektionerkring måleri i kombination med designprocessens många delmoment liggertill grund för målarsetets utformning. På handledningar har framförallt 3-dimensionellaskissmodeller förenklat visualiseringen av tankar och idéer.Research om tidigare vetenskap och forskning kring Faktor 10 metoden harvarit till stor nytta i en ambition att göra setet miljöanpassat och användanav ITK (Identity Tool Kit) har hjälpt till i identifieringen av Färggrossendet som företag och sammanlänkningen mellan produkt och uppdragsgivare..

During the 1960s and 1970s an increased interest in Native Americans can be seen in Sweden, e.g. through the establishment of organizations such as the Indian Club of Sweden. The aim of this thesis is to study the portrayal of Native Americans and its role through Albin Widén, a Swedish author, ethnologist and member of the Indian Club, and his non-fictional works on the Swedish migration to America, Swedish-America and Swedish contacts with Native Americans. The study is divided into four parts. The first part looks at the portrayal of the Native Americans in Widén?s writings, in comparison with Euro-Americans? and Europeans? traditional stereotypic images of a good and a bad Indian.

På grund av krig eller andra umbäranden i hemlandet tvingas människor på flykt från olika delar av världen. En del av dessa kommer till Sverige. Under de senaste åren har en ny grupp flyktingar kommit till vårt land. De ensamkommande flyktingbarnen, som utgör en extra utsatt grupp då de inte bara ska hantera upplevda kriser och migrationskris, utan också genomgå den kris tonårsperioden med identitetssökande innebär. Syftet med föreliggande intervjustudie är att öka kunskapen om dessa flyktingbarns situation, gällande identitetsskapande under påverkan av migrationskris och tonårskris.

I denna uppsats har jag valt att skriva om unga kvinnors tankar kring karriär, familjeliv och identitet. Dessa ämnen är saker som jag tror att de flesta upplever eller har upplevt att det finns många tankar och frågor kring, och jag vill genom min studie ge dessa kvinnors bild av hur man får livspusslet att gå ihop och hur tankar kring identitet, karriär och familjeliv kring detta kan se ut. Jag kommer att skriva om detta utifrån två synsätt, dels från det individuella planet, där jag utgår från mina intervjuer och berättar om mina informanters tankar, dels ur ett bredare perspektiv där jag sätter informanternas berättelser i ett större samanhang, men fokus på unga människors situation i Sverige..

This paper was aimed to investigate how a sexual education website, UMO.se, with an explicit norm-critical approach to their work achieved its goal to be norm-critical and inclusive in terms of gender, gender identity and sexual orientation. The investigation was focused on a section of the website, "Ask UMO" where the website visitors could submit questions, which were answered by a midwife, a nurse, a counselor, a psychologist, a nutritionist or a doctor. The questions focused on examining how well the "Ask UMO" lived up to UMOs target norm criticism and if there was any differences between the different professions in how norm-critical and inclusive they were. This was examined by a discourse analysis inspired by Foucault and based on Judith Butler's theory of the heterosexual matrix. The study found that "Ask UMO" in 350 of the sections 425 questions reached UMOs goal to be the norm-critical and inclusive.

This study investigates the internet habits of students in the Swedish gymnasium. The part that internet plays in their lives and their attitude towards the educational system is reflected upon the philosophical background that stretches from Kant to postmodern philosophers such as Baudrillard. The aim is to create knowledge about how the social aspects of the internet affects their concepts of reality and their own and others identities. The method used for the collection of empirical data has been semi-structured interviews, preformed with students in a Swedish gymnasium. The data is then interpreted against the theoretical and philosophical background.

The aim of this master´s thesis is to investigate how Aftonbladet/Sportbladet is describing the Swedish national men team in football during the European Championship years 1992, 2004 and 2008. Reading over 200 articles gave me an excellent overview of the differences and similarities between the three chosen periods. The theoretical framework has three key terms which circulates around the paper. The terms are discourse, stereotype and national identity. Several results are presented and discussed; some are included in this abstract.

Today several things point to the fact that many young women are being abused and sexual harassed. Despite that there is no knowledge about how the girls handle the violence or how the battering affects them. For that reason the purpose of this study is to describe and give a picture of some girl?s experiences of being battered of men they have or have had a relationship with. In focus is also how these girls identities are affected of the battering.

Öland?s Business Office is on the verge of developing a strategy for the island?s future tourism. Before any work with developing Öland can be carried out, it is essential to gain an understanding of how the place is perceived today.The purpose of this essay is to study the island?s current image and make recommendations for how the place brand could be developed.The methods used are literature studies and qualitative group interviews. The participants have been inhabitants of Öland and returning visitors from the Kalmar region.

This has shifted the focus and the limelight is now on the matter that for a long time has been ignored. That is, the Japanese women?s situation in the society. Detta är en kvalitativ studie vars huvudfokus belyser hur två etniska folkgrupper, ?assyrier/syrianer? samt bosniaker förhåller sig till sin etniska identitet utanför ursprungslandet och hur dem ser på att leva i diasporiska grupper. Studien behandlar även betydelsen av transnationella nätverk och förbindelser över nationsgränser. Diasporiska grupper har kommit att utveckla transnationella nätverk som överskrider nations gränser och människor liv påverkas dagligen direkt samt indirekt av att leva mellan två identiteter. Det finns människor i samhället som drar nytta av denna kulturella rikedom som finns inom etniska och kulturella föreningar men det finns även dem som ser begräsningar inom samhället genom att ha två identiteter. .

This study examines how the American comic book industry?s output is addressing the issue of Islam and in which manner the portrayal of Islam in the great American comic book universes have changed since 2001. The comic books are examined from the postcolonial perspective as formulated by Chandra Mohanty and the power and resistance-perspective as formulated by Michel Foucault. Examination of the comic books reveals far greater focus on universal values, orthopraxy and inclusive perspectives than it does on dogmatic teachings, orthodoxy and sectarianism while at the same time partly relying on generalizations and archetypes concerning Islam. To change the power balance requires what I call intervention from the objective, that is to say that ambiguity regarding Muslim characters has to be eliminated by the narrative.
