Ill health takes different expressions during different periods in life and habits during the early years affect the health during the rest of the lifetime. Bronfenbrenners ecological systems theory has been used as a theoretical starting point in this cross-sectional study. The aim of this study was to identify differences in self-rated health and health-related factors between boys and girls and between the compulsory school and the upper secondary school in Sundbyberg municipality as a basis for the planned activity in the Young Women?s shelter in Sundbyberg, as well as in other municipalities A questionnaire consisting of 24 questions based on different variables has identified disparities in health and health-related factors between boys and girls in Sundbyberg municipality (n=323). This paper found pronounced differences between the sexes in terms of sex and relationships, security, emotional support and psychosomatic complaints.

För patienten innebär den akuta sjukdomen eller skadan en plötslig kontakt medakutsjukvården och hon eller han blir då tvungen att förlita sig på andras kompetens. Dentraumatiska händelsen sätter människans bild av världen som trygg ur spel och eftersom honeller han inte förväntat sig att hamna i denna situation kan reaktionerna på händelsen bliväldigt olika. Syftet var att belysa patientens upplevelser av det akuta omhändertagandet samtvad sjuksköterskan kan göra för att bemöta patienterna och deras upplevelser.Litteraturöversikten gjordes på sammanlagt 13 artiklar. Analysen av artiklarna genomfördesmed kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultatet visar att upplevelsen av förlorad kontroll är någotsom är vanligt förekommande hos den akut sjuka eller skadade patienten.

The purpose of my study has been to find out how four preschool teachers at four different preschools looks at the pedagogical meal from a health and overall learning perspective. I also want to examine how, through the pedagogical meal the preschool teacher works to promote children´s learning and give them an understanding of need to safeguard their health. To achieve my aim I set the following questions;What are the different types of learning preschool teachers believe that children can acquire the basis of the pedagogic meal?How do preschool teachers describe their work from the pedagogical meal to benefit children´s overall learning?How do preschool teachers describe their work at the pedagogical meal for the children to gain an understanding of their health?The study is based on a qualitative method with interviews and observations, triangulation. The theoretical approach to this study is based on the socio-cultural perspective to learning and development.

SammanfattningSvenska fjälldestinationer är starkast kopplade till vinterturism med alpin utförsåkning som den vanligaste aktiviteten. Destinationerna har länge präglats av säsongsproblematiken och det har endast funnits ett produktutbud för att anläggningarna ska kunna ha öppet vintertid. Dock på senare tid har det märkts hur sårbar skidindustrins ekonomiska hållbarhet är för globala klimatförändringar eftersom allt mildare vintrar med låg nederbörd minskar direkt längden på vintersäsongen. Fjälldestinationer börjar nu inse att det finns en möjlighet att ha öppet även på sommaren och arbetar för att inte hindras av säsongsproblematiken. Hur arbetar de då med att övervinna säsongsproblematiken för att skapa en fungerande sommarturism? För att ta reda på hur svenska fjälldestinationer jobbar med utveckling av sommarturismen har tre studieområden tagits fram: Funäsfjällen, Idre Fjäll och Åre.

According to international and national literacy studies (PISA, PIRLS) Swedish boys are inferior to Swedish girls when it comes to reading. There can be numerous reasons to that statement. One is that Swedish teachers require more knowledge about communication as an important component in literacy. In spite of this shortcoming, Swedish girls manage to gain sufficient literacy. Why is that? The aim of this survey was to examine if there were any differences between girls and boys regarding communication skills when they begin in school.The main questions taken in account were:Which differences and/or similarities in communication skills are discernible between boys and girls this particular preschool?How do boys and girls communicate with each other in different room contexts on this particular preschool?           To be able to answer the questions, I adopted observations and audio recordings from children aged five.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to investigate librarians views on reading and reading promotion for young people. The main issue is if activities in reading promotion for people between the ages of 13-19 years can result in inspiring non-readers to actually become readers. To find the answers, qualitative interviews were held with eight librarians. The literature review covers research on the reasoning of young people on reading, a historical review of fiction and reading, a review of arguments on the benefits of reading and finally a chapter which concerns reading promotion activities. The result of this study showed that the conceptions of reading promotion and book talk are very complex and that they each can have different meanings.

The purpose of this study is to examine the change in consumer behaviour regarding the intention towards buying fruit when the layout of the fruit section has been altered. We want to increase the probability of making impulse purchases by altering the layout. In our study we have combined structured quantitative observations with structured quantitative as well as qualitative interviews, with secondary data in the form of sales data from two selected ICA-stores. We chose to use this triangulated approach in order to cross-examine our findings and overcome the limitations of one method by the use of another. Further, the Latin square design was used for the observations as a means to acknowledge the calendar effect during the experiment.

The aim of this master's thesis is to describe the visibility of the university libraries in the strategic documents from the actual universities to which they belong. And also, the image of themselves they send out, are examined. By examining different kinds of descriptions we want to get a clearer picture of how and in what amount the libraries are mentioned in highest level strategies. By doing this we expect to find out the libraries' strategic role in higher education and research. The research questions are: What role and function are assigned to the university libraries in strategies created by the schools' highest administrative levels? How do the libraries present themselves in their own strategies? The approach is cross sectional and the time frame is year 2008.

Detta är en uppsats baserad på fyra kvalitativa intervjuer med unga kvinnor, som identifierarsig som homosexuella, boendes i en mindre stad. Den mindre staden har vi i denna studie valtatt benämna stad X för att säkerställa dess anonymitet. Syftet med denna uppsats är attundersöka hur unga kvinnor, som definierar sig som homosexuella, upplever att varanormbrytande gällande sexualitet. Den insamlade empirin har delats upp i fyra stora temaninför analysen; ?identitet?, ?hur andra reagerat?, ?att stängas ute? och ?upplevelser av att levaoch komma ut i stad X?.

The purpose of this study is to investigate in what extension students experience that computer and videogames affect them. I have chosen to focus on the physical, mental and social affect that this activity might bring them. I have also examined how much time the students spends in front of the computer or the videogame and in which social context they play.The method I have chosen to use is a quantitative opinion poll which I used in three classes of the later junior high and I have also conducted five qualitative interviews.The conclusions I have drawn from this investigation are that computer and videogames affects teenagers both physically and mentally. Physically the affects of playing videogames mostly can be derived to the physical inactivity they expose themselves to. The students themselves did not experienced any positive physical affects from their playing.Amongst the mental affects that stood out the most I recognized the social training that online gaming provided and also the intellectual stimulation that certain games offered the player.

This essay aims to investigate how students raised in Jehovah's Witnesses have experienced their career counseling during their middle and high school education. My main objectives are, based on the testimonies of former Jehovah's Witnesses, to investigate how career counselors can find a strategy to approach these students in a non-threatening way. I also try to take into account the contextual elements which are of great importance when counseling students raised as Jehovah's Witnesses. A qualitative study has been carried out with five informants with a background in the movement. The material has then been analyzed using a qualitative, narrative method.

Examensarbetet är utfört hos Aaro Systems AB, som säljer ett datasystem som hanterar bokslut, redovisning och konsolidering av ekonomisk data för koncerner. En del av detta system är ett web-gränssnitt där man kan generera och manipulera ekonomiska rapporter. Min uppgift var till en början att undersöka hur detta gränssnitt kunde anpassas för att visas på mobila enheter. Det visade sig dock fungera bättre än väntat utan några störremodifikationer så efter en vecka omdefinierade vi min uppgift till att utveckla ett övervakningssystem för kundernas applikationsservrar. Varje kund hos Aaro kör sin egen applikationsserver på plats.

What is it that drives a person with criminal behavior to change their lifestyle? What are the obstacles to a lifestyle change? These issues have been guiding us during this study. In the introduction, we describe the previous research that has been done among crime in men. The themes that will follow us through the course of the study are as follows; cause of crime, Self-efficacy, social network and lifestyle change. The aim of the study was to investigate the factors that a former prison convicted individual believes has been significant, as they break their criminal behavior associated with a lifestyle change.

Dessa är svåra att genomföra eftersom omedvetna antaganden måste synliggöras och ifrågasättas samt förändringen i sig är tidskrävande. I socialt samspel formas och omformas kulturen av individerna och enligt symbolisk interaktionism sker då överföring och tolkning av symboler. Genom att utföra en kvalitativ intervjustudie på en specifik stödenhet inom en organisation kan de faktorer som behöver tas i beaktande i en kulturförändring belysas däribland symbolbegreppet.
