Svenskarna är med en elförbrukning av cirka 15000 kWh per person de fjärde största elför-brukarna i världen. Det beror främst på det kalla klimatet, men även stora industrier med hög elförbrukning bidrar till konsumtionen. Högskolan Väst förbrukar årligen 3 miljoner kWh. Med stigande elpriser och ett ökat fokus på miljöpåverkan önskar skolan att sänka sin förbrukning.Examensarbetet har utförts på uppdrag av kWh kontroll och NEA gruppen. Mätningar har utförts på matande ledning till skolans alla huskroppar samt dess ventilation.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the problems in multilingual thesauri, with a focus on the problem of conceptual equivalence between different languages. This study compares the problems and solutions that have been carried out in the Eurovoc multilingual thesaurus with the ISO 5964 ISO 5964 is a guideline for establishment and development of multilingual thesauri. The Swedish descriptors in the subject area "education and communication", from Eurovoc have been observed and compared with the guidelines recommendations. The results show that, the majority of the investigated Swedish descriptors do not present any problem. Most of the terms that are used as descriptors are found in dictionaries and glossaries or appear with high frequency in Swedish websites.

The purpose of the essay is to study and create understanding to the bilingual students' perspective on their linguistic skills and the use of them as resources in a scholastic context. A qualitative method has been used to collect empirical data, based on the experiences and perspectives of the students. Bilingualism is defined and past research, which has shown how their bilingualism has influenced them, has been linked with this study. Definition of mother tongue and the meaning of mother tongue tuition for student immigrants' development have been discussed. This research has shown that the students feel their bilingualism is a natural occurrence.

Bakgrund: En intensivvårdsavdelning [IVA] avsedd för barn kan saknas på ett mindre sjukhus, vilket gör att många barn vårdas på allmän IVA tillsammans med vuxna patienter. År 2012 vårdades 2709 barn i Sverige mellan 0-18 år, på en allmän IVA. Det finns stora skillnader mellan att vårda barn och vuxna, sjuksköterskor som arbetar på en allmän IVA kan sakna de kunskaper som krävs för att vårda barn.Syfte: Syftet med studien var att beskriva intensivvårdssjuksköterskors upplevelser av att vårda barn på en allmän IVA.Metod: Fyra fokusgruppdiskussioner med totalt 13 deltagare genomfördes. Data analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys och resulterade i åtta kategorier och ett tema. Studien genomfördes på ett mindre sjukhus i mellersta Sverige.Resultat: De kategorier som framkom var; en känslomässig utmaning, behov av kontroll och behov av samarbete och stöd.

Capio Lundby Sjukhus finns i flera olika byggnader vid Wieselgrensplatsen på Hisingen i Göteborg. Detta är på grund av att sjukhuset växt sig större och att det idag inte får plats i en byggnad. I huvudbyggnaden finns det gynekologi, kirurgi, medicin, neurologi, operation, vårdavdelning, ortopedi/handkirurgi, urologi, öron-näsa-hals, och hörcentral. Ögonkliniken ligger separat i en byggnad nära huvudbyggnaden. Patienter med morbid obesitas har en ökad risk för atelektasbildning och postoperativarespiratoriska komplikationer efter generell anestesi på grund av sänkt vitalkapacitet (VC),funktionel residualkapacitet (FRC) och total lungkapacitet (TLC). Tidigare forskning har visat attPostoperativ Bi-level Positiv Airway Pressure (BIPAP) ventilations behandling minskar denna risk.Denna studie avsåg att utvärdera om postoperativ BIPAP-behandling förbättrar patienternas SpO2,paO2 , paCO2 och pH i arteriellt blod efter genomgången elektiv gastric bypass kirurgi jämfört medtraditionell postoperativ behandling. Insamlat material från 18 patienter huvudsakligen bestående avarteriella blodgaser och bakgrundsdata analyserades med analytisk statistisk. För att kunna beskrivahur patienterna upplevde BIPAP-behandlingen ställdes två öppna frågor ställdes till patienterna,.Resultatet visar att postoperativ behandling med BIPAP under 3 timmar ger högre SpO2 och lägrepaCO2 än traditionell postoperativ behandling efter elektiv gastric bypass kirurgi. Vid bådabehandlingarna sjunker paO2 och pH är oförändrat.

In southern Sweden, beech (Fagus silvatica) and spruce (Picea abies) are two species with similar demands on soil properties. With increased global warming and high acid deposition the future may bring larger areas were the two species are overlapping, competing for the same soil. The aim of this study was to compare spruce and beech concerning distribution, cultivation and soil properties. From available data comparisons were made between spruce and beech forests in Sweden. Soil analyses were made on samples from beech forest in southern Sweden, with and without natural regeneration of spruce.

The Swedish government corporation Försäkringskassan is currently undergoing large organizational changes. Modifications are made regarding the national insurance system and work procedures. In this study we have investigated the procedures of change with the aim of identifying which pedagogical processes in work procedures that enables organizational learning. Furthermore, the study aimed at gaining insight of how the work procedures enable organizational learning in a learning organization. We have utilized case study tradition to examine specific occurrences in their natural environment to thereby understand the matter of investigation.

Badmintonstadion i Umeå vill söka bidrag hos Umeå kommun för att genomföra energieffektiviserande åtgärder. Stadion är byggd år 1990-1991 och har 13 badmintonbanor fördelat över tre hallar, ett gym, omklädningsrum och en mottagning för sjukgymnastik. Umeå Energi försörjer lokalen med el och fjärrvärme. Syftet med detta arbete har varit att undersöka vilka energieffektiviserande åtgärder som är mest ekonomiskt lönsamma. Lokalen förbrukade under år 2013 234 MWh el och 134 MWh fjärrvärme (graddagskorrigerad).

In this study I compare the donor portraits on wallpaintings in Scanian churches from the 12th and the 15th century and relate them to medieval society.I find that women were equally capable of owning and donating land during the entire period. The image of the ideal woman changed during the 14th century from a married woman to the unreachable mistress of the chivalrous culture and the holy virgin. Women had a natural place beside their husbands in 12th century donor portraits, while single male donors are more frequent in the 15th century. While 12th century donors were supposed to show their position in society by offering plentiful donations directly to God, donors in the 14th century instead strived to present themselves as humble and pious. The individualisation of late medieval society meant that people had to depend on themselves to achieve salvation..

Healthy, natural pastures is very valuable for biodiversity in the form of both plants and animals. An efficient use of pastures helps to preserve biodiversity, but grazing animals needs to be de-wormed to keep them healthy and to prevent harmful parasites spread on the pasture. The awareness about the environmental impact of the frequent use of deworming agents is low among the public. Some people are unaware that the absorption in horses of anthelmintics is incomplete, which make the circumstances about enviromental effect important to investigate further. The scientific evidence in this area is limited and more studies and trials are needed to deepen the knowledge about the effects of anthelmintics in the environment.

Contemporary libraries face challenges in transforming their organization to meet the digitalized society. To develop the process of digitization of literature is a natural way for libraries to go when they already have more visitors online than physically. Since the demand for digital material is so sought after, we feel challenged to address the challenges of the Internet as an emerging functional medium for distributing knowledge. These developments will be able to significantly modify the nature of literature as well as the existing system of quality assurance. In this study, we explored and analyzed a digitization project at a research library.

AbstractThe purpose of this bachelor thesis is to describe the use of artificial insemination (AI) in sheep and discuss the possibilities for AI in Sweden. Male and female fertility, heat detection, semen handling and insemination techniques in sheep are described. Advantages and disadvantages of AI are discussed. In order to achieve genetic progress it is important with well planned and implemented breeding programs. The Swedish Sheep Recording Scheme and computer software from Elitlamm are the basis for sheep breeding in Sweden.
