Jag har valt att studera etnologi vid Lunds universitet med sikte på en karriär inom museivärlden. Grundutbildningen i etnologi kan därför bidra med en mängd användbara teoretiska redskap och en god inblick i mänskliga kulturmönster och livsvärldar. Genom tidigare studier i museologi samt yrkespraktik vid Malmö Museer har jag dock upptäckt att arbetsuppgifterna på ett museum även kräver konkret kunskap om föremålens betydelser och hur man kan använda sig av dem i scenografiskt och pedagogiskt syfte. En möjlighet till fördjupning i den etnologiska föremålsforskningen, genom en förändrad kursplan eller möjligheten att välja en tilläggskurs, skulle alltså vara till stor värde för oss studenter som siktar på en museal karriär.För att få reda på vilka etnologiska kunskaper som kan komma till användning på ett museum har jag, med relevant litteratur som utgångspunkt, undersökt vad som definierar ett museum samt hur dagens museer arbetar. Genom intervjuer har jag sedan bildat mig en uppfattning om vilka kunskaper som verkligen krävs av de anställda för att på ett tillfredsställande sätt kunna genomföra sina arbetsuppgifter.

Uppsatsen fokuserar på Livrustkammarens utställning Maktspel (13/3 2014 - 5/1 2015) och handlar om historiebruk i populärkulturen. Med utgångspunkt i den svenska renässansen görs kopplingar till Englands elisabetanska tid samt den fiktiva kontinenten Westeros i HBO:s tv-serie Game of Thrones. Intentionen från museet är att besökaren ska ifrågasätta historiebrukets olika användningsområden och samtidigt belysa historiens dramatiska inslag. Jag har intresserat mig för de parallella maktspelen som sker i utställningsrummet utöver de berättelser som Livrustkammaren presenterar. Uppsatsen syftar till att lyfta fram museer och utställningars iscensättningskaraktär och min ambition är studera den interna ordningen i iscensättningen. Uppsatsen är uppdelad i fyra tematiska huvudkapitel.

This report is written in cooperation with the Swedish National Road Administration South-Eastern Region in Jönköping. The report is a result of the evaluation to give an answer to the question about how well the function contract has been carried out on the E4 in Östergötlands and Jönköpings län. The evaluation is divided in two hard parameters and one soft.The Swedish National Road Administration is interested in knowing how the standard on the road have been changed during the functions period, which is the reason why the first hard parameter is considering road standard. To evaluate the standard there have been a comparison of values from measures taken every year on the current road stretch. The second hard parameter considers economy.

According to Edward Said the Orient is a European construction that has arisen out of a need to describe the Western civilisation as culturally superior. This occurrence Said gives the label "Orientalism". This thesis examines the National Heritage Board in Sweden and the way they look upon themselves, the surrounding world and their mission. Methodologically it?s a discourse analysis based on poststructuralist and social constructionist thoughts. This means, simplified, that nothing is taken for granted and that power relations and ideology always matters. There is no true or distinct heritage.

Uppsalas befintliga konstmuseum i Uppsala Slott har små och opraktiska lokaler. Uppsala Konstmuseis Vänner har därför lobbyat mot kommunen för att bygga ett nytt museum. Föreliggande förslag är utformat med utgångspunkt i följande principer och målsättningar:- Att i möjligaste mån använda naturlig indirekt belysning.- En rumslig ?dramaturgi? som gör rörelsen genom muséet oförutsägbar samtidigt som blickfång och siktlinjer skapar orienterbarhet.- Bruk av nivåskillnader för att göra arkitekturen intressantare och för att skapa flera vinklar att betrakta konsten ifrån, samtidigt som alla utställningssalar är åtkomliga för rullstol och barnvagnar.- Ett växelspel mellan symmetri och assymmetri.- En ?tektonisk? utformning av fasaden: grov platsgjuten betongfasad, tjocka väggar med infällda fönster i linje. Samtidigt stora fönster som ger rikligt med ljus men lite direkt solljus.- Patina i fasaden: texturerade gjutformar för fasadgjutning, inga hängrännor, mineraler (?klumpvis?) i betongblandningen som röda alger lever av.- Uppdelning mellan samtida (bottenvåning) och klassisk konst (plan 4-5).- Rumssekvenser som tillåter olika öppettider för museets olika verksamheter.- En arkitektonisk utformning som avspeglar museets inriktning mot både förmodern och modern konst..

This thesis is a case study that analyses the seaside resort Ystad Sandskog and its private architecture between 1850 and 1940. The multitude is evident in the area's architecture. The architectural development is analysed with the use of a social historical perspective, including class and hegemony. Regional as well as national affective factors are used in the analysis. Aside from the social aspects, architectural ideological developments, general development of the seaside resort and the area's committee with its prescriptions are all factors considered.By dividing the development in four different chronological phases, which all represents a certain architectural expression exemplified by a selection of buildings and the social class that it accompanies, a culmination in the architectural structural development of Sandskogen is shown.

The purpose of this essay has been to investigate the research and national initiatives regarding film and Cineliteracy in the Swedish curriculum.The results show that, after all research, national initiatives and the continual clarification from the Swedish National Agency for Education concerning film's place in the Swedish subject, the vision of students cineliteracy not at all obtain an obvious place in the curriculum.The research points out the main causes behind this result to be teachers' lack of expertise and the fact that the formal education for future teachers in the subject still upholds traditional views on the subject of Swedish.The initiative presented in this essay also show lack of continuity, lack of adequate professional development opportunities for teachers and lack of practical guidance manuals to help teachers to develop and educate their pupils in line with current research and visions. .

The persecution of the Rohingya Muslim minority population in southwestern Burma has come to the fore in recent years. The aim of this study is to first analyse the degree and respects of biopolitical control in the case of political oppression. Secondly, the aim is to compare the similarities and differences when it comes to the causes, mechanisms and expressions of the two theoretical starting points in the case.Giorgio Agamben´s biopolitical theory, which tries to reconnect state control over life and death with modernity, forms the basis of the analysis. Will Kymlicka´s liberal theory on minority rights serves as a theoretical comparison tool. Methodological starting points to the specific bilateral purpose will be both of the textual and discursive analytical tradition.

The aim of this thesis is to study Viking Eggeling?s artwork Diagonal Symphony together with Eggeling?s own art theoretical writings. This method of reading Eggeling?s art theoretical writings with the aim to try and create a deeper understanding of his art and especially Diagonal Symphony is a new approach in Eggeling?s art historical discourse. The thesis starts with a description of how the field of art history has understood Eggeling and his art primarily through art historical research aimed at Hans Richter.

Monuments are raised all over the world of several different reasons. A monument dosen´t only refer just to itself, it also tells something about the historical context they are risen into. The overall purpose of this study is to try to reveal how history is used through the process, and rising of the monument "Vindarnas Boning" in Karlstad, Sweden 16/6, 1967. The historical narrative around this monument is about to show the importance of the esthetics, the main forces around the monument and last, how the monument legitimacy is maintained. Throughout those analytic tools, according to this study, I will try to examine possible other reasons behind this monument than the official one, who is to act as a remembrance of the finnish immigrants who settled in the unpopulated deep forests of Sweden and enabled to maintain a minor community separated from other influences, during the 16 th century and onward.

The Catalan movement of Independence is a well debated subject in Spanish news for the last decade. This thesis aims to examine what kind of identityarguments that spanish versus catalan newspapers make about the independence movement, in relation to nationalism and national identity. This is to deeper the understanding about the current complex situation in the Iberian Peninsula. The research shows that identityarguments about the independence movement presented by catalonian newspapers clearly put focus on identifying the ethnic and cultural reasons for the growing nationalism in the region, as well as discussing the political possibilities and obstacles of a sovereign Catalonia. In comparison, the identityarguments presented by spanish newspapers has another view of the situation, where the political aspect of the nationalistic catalan movement, identify the process as defying the Spanish Constitution and challenging the traditional historic unity of Spain.

This handbook is made to illustrate what the County Administrative Board do and how you can find your way to the archives and its documents, both as an employ and as a public visitor.The Handbook begins with a historical overview of the County Administrative Board, from the 17th century to today, with focus on the County Administrative Board of Uppsala. As the Handbook is made for both employees and for the general public several ways to enter the archives are described.Since the employees at the County Administrative Board of Uppsala have access to the archives them self the Handbook also provides detailed descriptions about how to find the way to the records. These descriptions both explains the way to archives organized in dossier and archives organized in chronological order, both provided at County Administrative Board of Uppsala.All the records that the County Administrative Board of Uppsala has generated though the years are not available in the building of the County Administrative Board but at The National Archive in Uppsala.

This essay provides an attempt to reflect the notions of violence, right or law and fate in Benjamin?s Zur Kritik der Gewalt, in order to clarify his very dense historical-philosophical reflection on the constitutive relation between violence and law. In contrast to what is most often the case, this essay will not address the notion of divine violence in a direct sense, but mainly focus on Benjamin?s discussion on right and law. The complex of his historical reflection, his attempt to articulate what he calls the ?historical function? not only of violence, but also of law, is crucially related to the notion of fate.
