This study describes how a larger investment by a private company in the northern interior can affect a municipality?s economy. The mobility to the municipality is expected to increase and some of the direct and indirect effects that this investment can implicate on their economy are discussed. The method for this study is qualitative. Interviews have been made with the initiative owner of the company LHG Learning Center and with civil servants in the municipality of Lycksele. The conclusions drawn in this study are that the establishment of LHG Learning Centers in Lycksele will include both opportunities and risks for the municipality?s future.

The municipality of Kalmar have a problem, how to reach and communicate with young people in Kalmar. In today?s changing media environment it gets more difficult to stand out and reach audience with messages and especially with the new forms of media that has revealed. Therefore, we have been commissioned to develop recommendations on how the municipality of Kalmar can communicate with young people in Kalmar.  The purpose with this study is to investigate which media channels young people in Kalmar use and their attitudes towards social media in particular. We wanted to find out how the municipality should communicate to reach them and what attitude youths have against the municipality in general.

The family and relatives caring for older people in Sweden lies on an old tradition. The responsibility to care for older family members has gone from family to the society. The aim of this study was to examine the needs of family caregivers and their experience of municipality support. This study includes only the family caregivers who have the main responsibility for the care of relatives and have support from the municipality. The caregivers were not allowed to work more than 50 percent in another job.

This thesis deals with co-operation between municipalities viewed from the perspectiveof the small municipality. It poses two questions: How and why doessmall municipalities co-operate? and Which is the place of the small municipalityin a larger organization?. To examine this three Scanian municipalities have beenstudied and one Norwegian municipality is used to provide a perspective on theSwedish discussion.Four theoretical topics guide the thesis. In Based upon disciplinary foundation... ? A study on teachers? prerequisite for continuing pro- fessional development (CPD) I have examined the prerequisites that teachers in Nacka have for CPD, due to the new school law that states that all teaching must be based upon disciplinary foundation and proven experience. According to a recently published governmental report, as well as international research, not only structural aspects like time and financial compensation are crucial to whether teachers continue their development. Encouragement from the principal and colleagues are also a contributing factor; and not to mention those factors combined.There is a world wide shared consensus among educational researchers claiming that one very important piece in creating a successful school is having a well-educated and updated staff.

Den snabba befolkningsutvecklingen i Stockholmsregionen orsakar stora problem i form av bland annat bostadsbrist och trängsel i transportsystemet. Nacka kommun är en av de kommuner i Stockholms län som växer snabbast varvid man planerar en omfattande förtätning i en del av kommunen, men för att detta ska vara möjligt krävs utbyggd kollektivtrafik. En förhandling inleddes 2013 mellan kommunen, landstinget och staten som kom att kallas för 2013 års Stockholmsförhandling och som resulterade i beslut om en förlängning av tunnelbanan till Nacka.Syftet med denna uppsats är att skapa ökad förståelse för hur förhandlingar vid planering av större stadsutvecklings- och infrastrukturprojekt som denna kan gå till och hur makt kan utövas inom dessa förhandlingar. Uppsatsen är ämnad att synliggöra hur maktrelationer inom dessa förhandlingar kan se ut, vilka typer av makt som kan utövas och hur detta kan gå till. Detta eftersom att förståelsen kring hur dessa komplexa förhandlingar går till är viktig för att skapa en transparens som i sin tur är viktig för demokratin.För att uppfylla detta syfte studeras flera olika teorier kring maktbegreppet och 2013 års Stockholmsförhandling studeras i en fallstudie.

What do they think should be done to get more young people to engaged in politics and become a municipality politician?The young Eda politician is a girl living in a house in the country and she has middle education.

For several years has there been a leading line from the government and the municipalities in Sweden to invest in schools and school grounds. The outdoor environment of schools has been rediscovered and given a greater importance. Investments have been made both practically with reconstruction and in a research context. Although, my work started with an assumption that these investments were mainly made at primary schools, and that secondary schools were set aside. The thesis This is my schoolyard.

Abstract The aim of this paper is to investigate whether Vara municipality has a continuous picture of their identity, profile and image. Globalization has contributed to the increasingly growing of place marketing. Therefore, the study goes on to using the concepts of identity, profile and image to find out if Vara Municipality communicates similar throughout the whole organization and find out their all through core values. Globalisation will be an interpretive framework for the work that describes why the place marketing is becoming more pressing. The sense of place will be a central part of this study as it is the feelings and images of different places that will be described by the municipality together with the identity, profile and image.

The purpose of this essay was to find an understanding of what factors whichaffect refugee reception in two municipalities in the southern part of Sweden, themunicipality of Vellinge and the municipality of Landskrona. Three interviewswere made with three local politicians and these interviews were then analysedusing postcolonial theory. With the help of Matthew J. Gibney we identified sevenfactors which aided us in the analysis these were: Integration history, Ethnicaffinity, Determining who is a refugee, The wealth of the municipality, Thehousing market, The labour market and The action of other municipalities.We found that these factors were all useful in creating an understanding ofrefugee reception in the two municipalities. However they affected themunicipalities differently.

This essay revolves around the reformation and sectorization of Swedish psychiatry starting in the 1970?s. Psychiatry was to change from being based in closed asylums to being an institution in the middle of society, finding social solutions to mental illness and working through a dynamic network of various care givers, such as welfare officers, nurses and psychiatrists. This new kind of psychiatry was first tested in Nacka, where psychiatric reformers Johan Cullberg and Bengt Berggren were the heads of a six-year long pioneer project of sectorized psychiatric care. My specific purpose is to analyze the new ideas of mental illness and of psychiatry?s role in society which were introduced in this project and how they were expressed in the official reports presenting it.The reformation was preceded by a public debate concerning psychiatry, which had intensified a few years around 1970.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the properties of the municipalities in Sweden that influence the choice of being a certified Fairtrade city. The independent variables which are used in the statistical analysis are municipal governance, local tax rate, whether there is an university and/or university college in the municipality, average income and higher education in the municipality. The variables are examined by logistic regression. Since there are no statistical data on ethical procurement, this exogenous variable isn?t included in the regression.

Med utgångspunkt från förväntade globala klimatförändringar har jag valt att behandla hur Nacka kommun påverkas och på vilket sätt man försöker anpassa sig till de negativa effekter som kan uppstå. Mitt arbete fokuserar på verkningar som särskilt följer av förhöjda vattennivåer orsakade av ökad nederbörd och höjda havsnivåer.Klimatförändringarna kommer att påverka levnadsförhållandena i alla världens samhällen, vilket kräver stora globala gemensamma ansträngningar för att kunna förebygga och begränsa de negativa konsekvenserna av dessa. I en allt högre utsträckning ökar vår medvetenhet om att de utsläpp som orsakar klimatförändringar snarare ökar än minskar. Politiska beslut fattade på en internationell nivå är av en avgörande betydelse för hur en positiv utveckling ska kunna genomföras. När det gäller konkreta förebyggande åtgärder och anpassningar ligger det stora ansvaret hos varje enskild nation och inte minst i dess lokalsamhällen.För att Nacka kommun, som jag har fokuserat, ska kunna ta detta ansvar krävs kompetens och ambitioner som förutsätter stöd från nationella myndigheter och organisationer.
