Uppsala Konstmuseum : Le Corbusier vs. Palladio

TvÄ av arkitekturhistoriens frÀmsta teoretiker, Andrea Palladio (1508-80) och Le Corbusier (1887-1965), Àr goda representanter för arkitekturens tvÄ huvudgrenar; klassicismen och modernismen. Samtidigt som arkitekterna i mycket utgör varandras motpoler, verkade de bÄda för strikta ideal betrÀffande hur god arkitektur skall utföras. Deras respektive avtryck i historien bör inte passeras onÀmnda i den hastigaste av sammanfattningar; palladianismen anvÀndes som stilbegrepp fram tills pÄ 1920-talet dÄ Le Corbusiers lÀror tog avstamp för att alltjÀmt hemsöka oss i dagens hÀrskandenyfunktionalism.Idén att stÀlla dessa giganter mot varandra, jÀmföra deras huvudsakliga stÄndpunkter och söka sammanföra dessa i en ny form av kompositstil, vÀcktes efter en inventering av den plats som projektet Àr avsett att behandla. NÀromrÄdet kring platsen intill FyrisÄn i Uppsala, erbjuder en rad arkitektoniska stilar frÄn 1800-talets empir till modern nyfunkis. Allra nÀrmast ligger ett postmoderntbostadshus och ett modernistiskt kontorskomplex i corbusiansk anda.

Tillbyggnad Nationalmuseum

Projektet ger ett förslag pÄ en tillbyggnad till National Museum i Stockholm. Tillbyggnaden rymmer konserveringsateljéer, magasin och kontor. Projektet behandlar förutom programmet ocksÄ en parkplanering och förslag pÄ utformning av kustlinjen pÄ Blasieholmen. UtgÄngspunkten i projektet har varit att ett Nobel Centrum ska byggas pÄ östra Blasieholmen, och att det dÄ inte blir mycket plats över till parken. Byggnaden och parken har formats av detta, och försöker skapa starka kvaliteter bÄde för stadsrummet och för de anstÀllda och besökande pÄ National Museum.

Analys av trÀngsel pÄ motorvÀg: BerÀkningsmodeller för medelflöden/medelhastigheter samt utformning av pÄfartsreglering i Göteborg

This master thesis investigates the possibilities of using GPS-information from trains to create a model of a railway system, register the routes of the the trains and predict how the trains will travel in the railway system.The thesis work was done at Icomera AB which is a company that specializes in internet connected vehicle solutions.We describe how the GPS-information is sent from the trains in the form of samples and investigate limitations and possibilities with the available information. About three million samples from 83 SJ-trains were analysed and the samples were filtered with the intent of removing erroneous information. We here found that about 30 % of the samples from the trains were unreliable.A solution for how the samples from the trains can be used to create a model of the railway system traveled by the trains is presented. We use a large set of historical samples and use cluster nodes and Hermite curves to generate a graph that represent the railway system with stations, nodes and the railway itself. A fully automatic solution is not presented since it did not fit into the time frame of the thesis; instead we created a simple tool which can be used to manually finish the model of the railway system.Furthermore, we describe how the railway system and the samples from the train can be used to register the routes the trains travel.

Nya grÀnssnitt mellan mÀnniska och hav: interaktiva teknologier för ett marint upplevelsecenter.

This thesis project explores technologies that enable people to experience the world through animals' senses in order to spark interest in and awareness about the marine environment and its inhabitants. The project is carried out as part of a planned ocean themed science center. The purpose is to explore how a greater understanding of the marine environment can be achieved using interactive technologies. The thesis is based on a theoretical framework consisting of academic works on experience, learning in a museum context and sensory perception. Our proposed designs are a series of, primarily, wearable devices that translate sensory experiences and principles from the marine world to humans.

Tillbyggnad till Nationalmuseum i Stockholm

I mitt förslag betraktar jag Nationalmuseums klassicism och dess symmetrier som ett system i flera skalor, ett obundet system vilket det Àr möjligt att bygga vidare pÄ. Det Àr ett system dÀr massa hela tiden stÀlls mot tomrum, och dÀr rytmen i allt frÄn pelare till stora rymder och motsvarande massivitet harmonierar mellan huvudbyggnaden och det tillbyggda. Det Àr en byggnad avsedd för kroppen: man ska röra sig runt den och i den och kÀnna hur det rytmiska pÄgÄr; hur massan och tomrummen fÄr rörelse och vill flyta in i varandra och dÀr volymerna fÄr tyngd och gravitation i denna spÀnning. Jag har tagit fasta pÄ det monumentala, inte nödvÀndigtvis som storskalighet, utan som nÄgonting annat, mer mystiskt. DÀr tar jag stöd i Aldo Rossis Architecture of the City.

BerÀtta nÄgot! : Att anvÀnda berÀttelser pÄ museer

Det hÀr arbetet handlar om berÀttelser som ett sÀtt att skapa identitet och sammanhang. Jag har inriktat mig pÄ berÀttelser pÄ museer; hur berÀttelserna kan se ut, vilken funktion de kan fylla och vad man bör ha i Ätanke nÀr man vill anvÀnda sig av berÀttelser pÄ ett museum.Arbetet bottnar i teorier kring historiemedvetande och berÀttelser som identitetsskapare och tar Àven upp frÄgan om historisk korrekthet och hur man kan hantera berÀttelser som handlar om svÄra saker. Jag har stÀllt frÄgor till museipersonal om hur de ser pÄ berÀttelser och hur de anvÀnder sig av berÀttelser i sitt arbete.Mitt arbete har dels varit inriktat pÄ museer i stort och dels mot ett specifikt museiprojekt, TvÄ museer i FisksÀtra, som drivs av Nacka kommun. Syftet har varit att undersöka hur museerna i FisksÀtra skulle kunna samla in och anvÀnda sig av berÀttelser för att förmedla information och skapa identitet..

Skola och museum - samarbete eller motarbete? (School and Museum - Cooperation or Resistance?)

Avsikten med det hÀr examensarbetet Àr att studera ramfaktorerna för anvÀndning av museum i undervisningen, vilka resurser museer har för studenter och att undersöka tre lÀrares attityder gentemot anvÀndningen av museer i undervisningsprocessen. Avsikten Àr ocksÄ att undersöka vilka historiedidaktiska effekter som anvÀndningen av museer i undervisningen kan ha. MÄlet Àr ocksÄ att försöka ta reda pÄ hur samarbetet mellan skolor och museer kan utvecklas och förbÀttras. Metoden som anvÀnts Àr kvalitativa intervjuer med tre museipedagoger samt tre lÀrare. Undersökningen visar att det finns tre typer av ramfaktorer som pÄverkar anvÀndingen av museer i undervisningen; konstitutionella ramfaktorer, organisatoriska ramfaktorer och fysiska ramfaktorer.

The society of today is dependent of secure transports and deliveries of electrical power. Interruptions in different activities because of fallen trees cost a great deal of money in form of reparations and claimed damages for transport companies and electrical suppliers. Fallen trees along some railway sections are a severe problem. For instance, to repair the damages of the storm of week 5 year 2002, costed 2 800 000 SEK for the line region of HĂ€ssleholm. Today, the Banverket railroad company has no norms in general for how close to the railway the forest is allowed to grow.

En ny forntid? : ? förÀndringar i basutstÀllningar om forntiden 1972-2005

The purpose with this thesis is to study how the arranging of archaeological objects in permanent exhibitions has changed over time. To find out about this I have been analysing three museums with prehistorical permanent exhibitions. The exhibition at Statens Historiska museum was produced in 2005, Nationalmuseum in Köpenhamn was produced in 1972 with additions from 1988 and 1995 and, finally, Malmö Museer exhibition which was produced in 1977. These exhibitions have been compared to analyse developments during the last 30 years. The result shows that there are different ideals within the exhibitions.

Perspektiv pÄ avreglering av svensk jÀrnvÀgspersontrafik

This thesis examines the deregulation reform of the Swedish railroad industry, focusing on passenger transport between 1988 and 2005. The purpose of the thesis is to examine the effects from the deregulation reform on prices, market concentration and to determine whether SJ (the state owned incumbent) has been conducting strategic behaviour in order to prevent new entrants to the market. The chosen method consists of interviews with the MD at SJ between 1988 - 1998 Mr Karl-Erik Strand, the transportation researcher at SSE Mr Gunnar Alexandersson. Statistical sources and companies financial reports have also been used. The results that I have found were besides the fact that the market concentration is still significant high and the profitability among the operators low, is that the prices has increased more than CPI during the period but the competitive tendering has resulted in lower government subsidies after the deregulation.
