This essay constitutes a literary study investigating how scientific literature within thefield of musicology can benefit to the understanding of how people use music as anaid for sleep and relaxation. Den här studien handlar om hur ett antal lärare använder film och andra multimediala verktyg i engelskundervisningen. En del i undersökningen berör de tillfrågade lärarnas hänvisningar till styrdokumenten och de olika delar av läroplanen de väljer att citera. För att belysa lärarnas syn på olika läromedel innehåller arbetet också en kortare analys av hur man, enligt forskare, bör använda läromedel i skolan idag. I anslutning till debatten kring läromedel och variation av undervisningen diskuteras också lärarnas syn på motivation och elevernas intressen. Early Swedish films from the 1910?s and 1920?s are not only an important part of Sweden?s cultural heritage, but also an important part of the international film heritage. This period is often refereed to as the golden age of Swedish film history. Despite this fact, the possibility to watch Swedish films from this period is very small and the main purpose of this thesis is to examine why the availability of these films has such low priority in the Swedish film policy and at the Swedish Film Institute. With the use of policy analysis, I study governmental policies and policies from the Swedish Film Institute for early Swedish films and seek to identify the policy problem and its different parts.

As the actors inside them music industry find themselves in an ever changing climate where traditional supply chains are threatened by new technology, the record labels need to change the way they work in order to maintain their existence in the music industry. The study has been conducted by interviewing a number of people involved in the music industry, by using a qualitative method approach. The conclusion of the study shows that the traditional way of doing business by treating music as a product that makes revenue is gone. Instead the labels have to take on new roles formerly run by third parties in order to survive and be profitable, especially since artists can now in control of activities that used to be controlled by the record label..

Uppsala Universitet: Institutionen för musikvetenskap, C-uppsats 2006.During the 1950s, Swedens musical avantgarde was mainly lead by the concert organisation Fylkingen. Some of the leading members used to belong to the Mondaygroup in the 1940s and brought a will to update and modernise Swedish music with them into Fylkingen. This resulted in a radical change in the concert programs of Fylkingen and a development that lead to the introduction of the music of Karlheinz Stockhausen in Sweden.

This study aims to determine whether pupils, students and teachers at various music schools feel that there is a difference in status between different music styles/genres, and if this has an impact on the individual level. The survey was conducted with a digital survey that was e-mailed to junior/high schools with music profile in the Stockholm area and to all the teachers and students at the Royal College of music in Stockholm (KMH). Due to low participation by students and teachers from the junior/high schools the students and teachers of KMH became the main object of the study. The results shows that a majority of the main group of this study feels that there is a difference in status between different music styles/genres. The study also shows that half of the participants believe that the difference in status affects them on an individual level.

In our attempts to understand the world, wildlife films play a significant role. Wildlife films help us to see new places and learn about animals in remote locations, that we otherwise wouldn?t be able to do. Yet wildlife films have throughout history been criticized, mainly for the ambivalent relationship between science and storytelling. While the films give us a scientific impression and say something about the ?reality?, they clearly have the intension to amuse, capture and entertain their audience.

The purpose of my report was to find out how music can benefit the language development of children, whilst getting a glimpse of how the educators in preschools use music as a tool for the language development of children. During the course of the report I?ve used the sociocultural perspective theory as a foundation to stand on, this is most of all visible in my analysis and discussion of the result. In the result we can see that the educators possess insight in the importance of music in childrens development, and that they therefore give music a lot of room in their work. Songs where rhyme and language play are allowed are common elements at the preschool that attracts the children and makes them want to partake. Songs sung with movement is a commonly used combination which also serves to further lift the childrens language development when they, through movement, give meaning to the lyrics. It does however take a devoted educator to make music with the preschool children and to support them and making them want to do it.

The purpose with this study is to inquire how a number of active preschool teachers use music in their daily work with children. It also looks at the meaning they think music can have to the whole group of children, especially in terms of solidarity and interaction in the group. In order to study this I chose to use questionnaires as the method. These questionnaires consisted of open questions to enable longer answers from de participants in an effort to hear their thoughts and get their point of view. The result of this study shows that all of the participants seem to have good experiences from musical activities with the preschool children.

Noise music is created around sounds not often welcome in a musical context. Since the birth of electronic music in the 1950s a new perspective on composing has emerged. In electronic music, sounds and their timbre are as much important as melody, harmony and rhythm. This composing perspective is not often observed. Therefore I have examined a musical genre that stretches the boundaries of what we consider music, sound, noise, beautiful and terrible.

Syftet med denna uppsats handlar om att undersöka och jämföra hur tre svensklärare beskriver sitt arbete med film i svenskämnet och hur de ser på filmens roll i svenskämnet. För att uppnå syftet ställs tre frågor: Hur ser de på film i relation till styrdokumenten och som ett eget textbegrepp? Hur ser de på film i relation till litteratur? Hur ser de på film i relation till ungdomar? Denna studie bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer som gjorts med tre svensklärare på gymnasiet. Intervjuerna har spelats in med diktafon, transkriberats, analyserats och jämförts.     Resultatet visar på att film används för att illustrera en epok eller ett litterärt verk eller som en jämförelse i samband med tematiska arbeten. Två av de tre lärarna beskriver filmens roll i relation till styrdokumenten.
