This study examines the cultural place and status of video and computer games in the Swedish public library. Using works on popular culture and the theories of Pierre Bourdieu, this study employs quantitative methods, as well as textual analysis, to analyze the results of an online questionnaire with 19 questions focusing on selection criteria, shelf placement, perceived competence, as well as reasoning for having or not having these games in the library. 286 out of the 440 libraries contacted is participating in the study, and the libraries consist exclusively of public libraries in Sweden that are found in the database of the Royal Library.The results of this study show that a larger number of libraries than previously indicated have started to provide electronic games to their patrons. At the same time, patterns in the data and comments suggests that these games in many cases still do not enjoy the same level of cultural recognition as other media. Indicative of this is the way most libraries seem to focus on the medium being exclusively for their young patrons, with seem-ingly very little in the way of investment for adults.

Kandidatarbetet syftar till att rita en tillbyggnad till NationalMuseum i Stockholm. Museets nuvarande lokaler ska inom en snar framtid omorganiseras, de verksamheter (konservering, forskning, adminstration etc) som idag är förlagda till huvudbyggnaden ska placeras i en tillbyggnad. Den nuvarande tillbyggnaden (annexet) ska rivas. Tillbyggnaden i detta kandidatprojekt, är placerad på NationalMuseums baksida. En mindre huskropp i fyra våningar agerar huvudsakligt fasadmotiv och innehåller lastintag och entré på gatuplan, studiesal och referensbibliotek på plan 2 och kontor på plan 3 och 4.

Uppsatsen handlar om arbetet med pedagogisk dokumentation i förskolan. Studiens syfte är att få en fördjupad bild av pedagogisk dokumentation såväl i den traditionella svenska förskolan som i den Reggio Emilia inspirerade förskolan. Vi har därför valt att genomföra vår studie på två olika förskolor. Vi fann det intressant att ha med en Reggio Emilia förskola i vår studie då de uttalat jobbar med pedagogisk dokumentation. Detta för att urskilja eventuella skillnader i arbetsätt med pedagogisk dokumentation mellan de två förskolorna.

This master?s thesis studies library teaching at two university libraries, Freie Universität Berlin in Germany and Södertörn University in Sweden. The aim of this paper is to study views on information literacy, how these views affect teaching practice, and how the teaching of information literacy is connected to, on the one hand, German and Swedish learning culture and, on the other, the local community of practice at the studied university libraries. The theories applied in this paper are learning culture and community of practice as developed in the works of Judith Ricken and Etienne Wenger. The methods that have been used are qualitative, semi-structured interviews that were conducted at both university libraries.It was observed that the teaching practices were highly connected to learning cultures.

Purpose?This study has examined the information behaviour and perception of information in a group ofinformation users who have a critical approach to the media and the information supply. Some of them call themselvesor are being called conspiracy theorists. The purpose was to examine how their information behaviour is influenced by the belief that the information is biased or inaccurate and what the information behaviour looks like when the user searches for discrepancies rather than a response to a question.Method?The study is based on transcribed interviews and email responses to interview questions.

Samhällets lagar och förordningar visar sig ha en vägledande betydelse som påverkar på individens förutfattade meningar och attityd och som i sin tur påverkar bemötandet av personer med funktionshinder. Skolan och museets förutsättningar för att samarbete i lärande syfte har vidgats genom Skapande Skola projektet liksom museerna anpassar sin verksamhet uppmuntrar skolan att använda museet som lärmiljö.

This thesis project has focused on studying ÅF?s business concept Energy Collaboration, which is their way of selling energy efficiency services. Thereforeongoing projects have been analyzed. The purpose was to determine achieved energy efficiency, costs and profitability for the studied projects. It was concluded that the Energy Collaboration is a good way of selling energy efficiency services, since the customer takes no risk and energy savings of about 15-25 % can be achieved with simple measures.

Till sjöss är den hierarkiska organisationsstrukturen den vanligast förekommande. Detta sträcker sig från befälhavaren till den individuella sjömannen. Överstyrman, nummer två i däcksbefälsordningen, har flera olika ansvarsområden. Några vanliga exempel är bland annat att prioritera underhåll av fartyget, övervaka och leda arbetet på däck samt att ha huvudansvar för lastning och lossning. Med detta i åtanke är det inte svårt att tänka sig att man i denna roll upplever konflikter ombord, både arbetsrelaterade och privata.

In this study the book talk is examined as a communicative act with a purpose to convince according to an under-lying intention to promote reading. I follow the book talk?s way from an idea of the book talker (and the library) to the reception of the audience, with the aim to understand how to talk about books in an engaging manner. More specifically, the rhetorical situation and the purpose of a book talk, the performance and the means to arouse and retain interest in the book talk as a speech and in the books themselves are examined and the impact of the book talk on the audience.The empirical material consists of observations of two different book talks (both directed to children) and interviews with the two different book talking librarians and a few of the children from the audiences to both book talks. The theoretical framework consists of rhetorical theories from both antique and modern times and I perform a rhetorical analysis of both book talks.

Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur utvalda bolags aktieavkastning inom branscherna flyg, fordon samt olja reagerar vid signifikanta oljeprisförändringar.Teoretiskt perspektiv: Den teoretiska referensramen utgörs av den effektiva marknadshypotesen samt Behavioural Finance med undergrenarna prospect theory, herd behaviour och overconfidence.Metod: Studien utgår ifrån ett deduktivt inslag med en kvantitativ studie. Undersökningen utgörs av sex eventstudier som datainsamlingsmetod samt en intervju som applikation på det kvantitativa resultatet. Urvalskriterium består av tio bolag inom respektive bransch med en rangordning utefter högst omsättning samt företag med en koppling till svenskt näringsliv med högst omsättning.Empiri: Empirin presenteras utifrån diagram och tabeller över de utförda eventstudierna. Diagrammen syftar till att redovisa den avvikande avkastningen för respektive bolag. Tabellerna ger en redogörelse över eventuellt samband mellan respektive bransch och oljeprisförändringarna.Slutsats: Flygbolagen uppvisade samband med oljepriset vid fyra utav sex eventen.

In many cases, they are the result of city branding, which means choosing a city image and dealing with it like a brand to profile and compete against other cities. This essay study what impact on and roll in urban planning the trend might have. The first part relies on literary studies and describes what has been written about city branding. The globalization, the experience economy, urban management, urbanization and the theory of the creative class are pointed out as driving forces of the popularity and the spread of city branding.

The main purpose of this thesis has been to address the problem connected with conservation ofspecific objects in historic buildings that have a protected building status. The immaterial demandsand environmental concerns of a place of cultural significance are discussed as opposed to the welladaptedsetting of a Museum, with regard to long-term preservation. In an authentic interior of acertain era, large-scale individual treatments of the objects that define it and regulations forconservation-related reasons, may not be considered a worth-while effort, as it is often the integrityof the environment as a whole that has been declared as significant. To investigate the relationshipbetween object and its context, a case study has been conducted by examination of the propertycalled ?Curmans villor?, located in the seaside community called Lysekil.

This study aims to examine the views on digitization of eight respondents, all working at different libraryinstitutions in Sweden, and how their views are reflected in their library's digitization strategies. The poll wasconducted on the basis of Ingrid Mason's theory of information standards, their structure and sociopoliticalnature. The informantion standards are divided into three aspects, curatorial, semantic and technical, and theyaffect selection of, intellectual and physical access to the digitized material, which in the end is what constitutes the digital cultural heritage.The background to the study is that the Swedish library institutions in the current situation lacks a nationalstandard or a common strategy for the digitization of cultural heritage, while it is still implemented digitizationprojects at many library institutions. The method used is qualitative, structured interviews with open-ended questions.The study shows that one of the main motives behind the libraries' digitization projects is to make librarymaterials available in a new way, creating greater opportunities for the users to take advantage of the material.The library users are the ones who mainly control what is digitized, although aspects of preservation ismentioned. Furthermore, it appears that the respondents believe that digitization offers improved capabilities tosearch and learn more about the collections, but the actual work of image capture, the addition of metadata,presentation to users and long-term preservation is very complex.Views on what it is to be digitized, how the material should be selected and provided with metadata and howit should be presented to users is what creates the standards that libraries use when they digitize their materials,and digitization of library materials creates new conditions for new users to access and use library material.This is a two years master?s thesis in Archive, Library and Museum studies..

Projektet Utställningsdokumentär? består av två delar: dels den vetenskapligt orienterade studie som redovisas här, dels en praktisk gestaltning i form av en serie experimentella utställningar. Projektets syfte som helhet är att belysa utställningsmediets förmåga att gestalta ett dokumentärt innehåll, samt diskutera och experimentera med dokumentära arbetsmetoder i utställningssammanhang. Denna explorativa studie är gjord på kvalitativa grunder och består av intervjuer med professionella dokumentärmakare och museimänniskor, kortfattade analyser av tre aktuella museiutställningar samt en serie utställningsexperiment. Ett försök görs att lägga grunden för ett nytt begrepp och en ny typ av utställningsmetod.
