Analyze the cover images from the 2007 editions of the magazines Elles and Café, using semiotic analysis.? Analyzes eventual resemblances or differences between the two magazine's cover images based upon the result of the semiotic analysis.Material and methods: The study of Elles's and Café's cover pages has been done using a model built upon semiotic analysis, developed with the purpose of suiting observation and examination of cover pages of fashion magazines. The cover pages were analyzed from the categories character, context, and environment.Main results: The main results include the observation that both Elles and Café chooses well-known figures from women's fashion industry as prime characters on their covers. In Elles, all main characters are famous women emerging from the music, television and fashion industries. The women in Café are known for similar professions.

Vi lever i Sverige i en demokrati. På de flesta håll i samhället eftersträvar man jämlikhet mellan grupper såväl som individer av olika kön, sexuell läggning, etnicitet, ekonomisk ställning samt kulturell tillhörighet. Detta gäller framförallt inom den offentliga sektorn och politiken som har en skyldighet att föregå med gott exempel. Hur detta arbete ser ut inom kulturområdet har för mig varit okänt. Under min utbildning har vi inom det Föremålsantikvariska programmet, Högskolan på Gotland, haft ett fåtal föreläsningar och lektioner som tagit upp de kvinnliga respektive manliga representationerna inom museerna i samlingar och utställningar.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att visa på möjligheter att förändra nedlagda försvarsanläggningar för att skapa platser till glädje för allmänheten. Under 1900-talet har Sveriges militärmakt producerat en mängd platser som idag är övergivna. I den mån platserna fått nya funktioner är det som historiska museum som pekar på den tidigare användningen. Myttingelinjen på Värmdö ligger i Stockholms skärgård och består av sju batterier i varierande grad av förfall. Detta arbete redovisar översiktligt hur Myttingelinjens ruiner skulle kunna omvandlas till ett rekreationsområde med varierande upplevelser.

The purpose of this Master thesis is to examine whether there is a connection between distance to the schoollibrary and the extent to which teachers are using it as an integral part of their teaching. The study aims to answerif the physical distance to the school library is affecting teachers' ways of working with the library, if it affects thecollaboration between teachers and librarians and finally if teachers that are using a school library outside theschool premises are doing so less as an integral part of their teaching compared to teachers that have access to aschool library within the schools premises.The study is based on qualitative interviews with six teachers in the intermediate stage of the nine-yearcompulsory school, of which three have access to a school library within the school premises and three haveaccess to a school library outside the school premises. The two groups of teachers are compared in order to findout if there is a connection between distance to the school library and the usage of it. Loertscher's school librarymedia program and teacher taxonomy have been used as a theoretical framework.The study shows that the teachers who use a school library within the school premises have a bettercollaboration with the librarians than the ones who use a school library outside the school premises. The studyalso show that theese libraries are an integral part of the teaching to a higher degree.

Detta examensarbete behandlar rumsakustik som en viktig del i skapandet av en arkitektur för framförande av musik, samt upplevelsen av ljud. Projektet bygger på en idé att skapa nya möjligheter att skapa och framföra musik för musiker, vars arbete ofta begränsas av lokalbrist eller av olika föreningars intresseområden. Idén har utvecklats till en hybrid mellan ett nytt musikmuseum och ?Musikplatsen? - en plats för skapande och framförande av musik med liten publik. Musikplatsen blir en del av det nya musikmuseets program för att skapa nya samarbeten och ekonomisk hållbarhet.

Målet med detta arbete är att undersöka på vilken typ av föremål som de förstarunorna ristades, i vilken arkeologisk kontext som de har hittats, varruninskriptionen suttit på föremålen. Jag hade också som målsättning att tareda på vilka tolkningar som gjorts till dessa och vilka behov som kan ha legat bakom skapandet och användandet av runorna, varför det skedde just vid den tidpunkten och vilka personer som kan ha ägt runmärkta ting. Periodmässigt begränsade jag arbetet till ungefär de första fyra hundra åren av vår tideräkning med inriktning på romersk järnålder och inom Skandinavien. Information och intryck om aktuella fynd skaffade jag genom publicerad litteratur, några få Internetsidor och besök på Lunds historiska museum och Nationalmuseum i Köpenhamn. Eftersom runstenar är svåra att datera valde jag att inte alls ta med några sådana.

This is a two years master?s thesis in Archive, Library and Museum studies, which purpose is to find out what ideas there are about school libraries and to get an idea of how informants interpret the new Education Act, which requires all students to have access to school libraries. Another intention of this paper is to highlight the potential rural-related attitudes of the responents. The study includes the sparsely populated municipality of Krokom and is based on interviews with librarians, the school director, principals and politicians who work there. The theoretical basis for this paper is Loertscher?s model för school libraries and a centerperiphery perspective.

This joint study has researched the use of non-European history in a Swedish textbook for the High School course History 1a1 as well as internet based material regarding the same issue. The aim of this study was to clarify the use of non-European history in regards to the Eurocentric theory.As for the textbook analysis the purpose was to research what non-European history was mentioned in the material with regards to geographical location and the events that were mentioned, as well as to study how much non-European history was included in the material compared to European or Western history.The study of internet based material aimed to show what kind of teaching material could be found on internet based databases by and for teachers. The study aimed to show how well the material handled non-European history, as well as to what degree the material used European perspectives when dealing with non-European events and geographical areas.In our thesis we have created our own definition of the theory regarding eurocentrism. The method used was a combination of a quantitative and a qualitative discourse analysis of the texts.Our results showed that the textbook was overwhelmingly Eurocentric, not only giving vastly more focus to the European parts of world history, but also using European perspectives and ideals to describe non-European events and areas. The internet based material, on the other hand, proved more diverse and less biased, but also more difficult to find and less plentiful.Our conclusion, then, is that teachers have to choose between the risk of letting their students develop a severely limited and heavily Eurocentric view of the world, and the additional workload required to find and organize non-textbook material to broaden their students horizons.We hope our study will contribute to the discussion of the place of Eurocentrism in today?s global and multicultural society..

Konstmuseum i Uppsala är delvis ett transformationsprojekt men också ett tillägg i form av en ny byggnad. Arbetet med museet utgick ifrån en övergripande frågeställning:  Hur kan ett nytt konstmuseum informeras av platsen Katalin­området, tydligt samverka med den befintliga bebyggelsen och samtidigt bidra med ett nytt lager till helheten? Vidare har frågor kring framtidens rum för konst väckts och behandlats. Målet har varit att skapa ett museum med en variationsrik rumslig upplevesle genom utställningen där besökaren rör sig ­genom platsens lager. En analys av platsens historia, material och rumssamband informerade projektets gestaltning, tektonik och om­arbetningen av det offentliga rummet kring byggnaden. ­Konstmuseet tar hela platsen i anspråk.

Studien fokuseras på följande frågor ? Vad var det som gjorde att biblioteket; vilket initialt byggdes som museum, och en stor ståtlig park, hamnade just här? Två unika resurser, ett stenkast från stadens centrum. ? Kan en kulturhistorisk förstudie användas som landskapsanalys och fungera som ett planeringsunderlag inför exploateringar? (Därigenom kunna se förhållande mellan vårt brukande och att förbruka vår mark. SYFTE Att själv kunna erhålla en övergripande kunskap över följande; ? Vad det var som gjorde att biblioteket; vilket initialt byggdes som museum, och en stor ståtlig park, hamnade just här i detta område? Detta har en gång har planerats, varit någons vision. ? Att kunna finna och beskriva någon forma av kausalitet? ? Att kunna sätta denna form av studie tidigt i planeringsskede för att underlätta den fortsatta planläggningen i/med exploatering som då anpassas efter fastställda kulturhistoriska värden. Metod Min metod i denna studie har varit att genomföra en landskapsanalys i ett kulturhistoriskt perspektiv över objekt och område i dess kontext. Detta har gjorts genom att söka och läsa relevant litteratur som rör stadens historia ur flera perspektiv; beskrivningar, sammanhang och kausalitet (d.v.s. händelser, beslut och konsekvenser) av aktörer. AVGRÄNSNINGAR Uppsatsen skrivs främst mot den bakgrunden av landskapsanalys gällande kulturhistoriska värden. Således fördjupar denna sig inte i begrepp som naturvärden, biotoper, växt och djurliv, vatten luft/klimat. Resultat Jag vill göra gällande att en stor del av resultat är de olika kapitel som beskriver tillkomst och utvecklingen av staden, parken och byggnaden. Som ett delresultat vill jag peka på att exploateringsprocesser kräver någon form av kvalitetssäkringsprocess för att kunna bevara de kultur- och naturvärden som är definierade. Ett sätt är att implementera metoden balanserad samhällsbyggnad som juridiskt instrument (inom ex PBL).

In recent years it has become more and more common with discussions concerning professionalization in professions such as archivists. Professionalization means that a profession strengthens, develops, innovates and monopolize their business. In order to strengthen the profession you can also use a variety of strategies and these strategies emphasises the process where a profession is being professionalized or is about to be professionalized. This development of an occupation could start within ABM-cooperation?s.

Feminist initiative ? an idea analysis.On the fourth of April in the year 2005 Feministic initiative (Fi) was created, it was an main response to the slow changes in the Swedish society, which claimed to establish an equal society. Equality has become one of the major indicators of a contemporary democratic society. The Swedish government has long proclaimed to reach this goal, but even though Sweden currently lies in the front among the democratic societies, while you consider equality issues, especially between the sexes, there is still a lot that need to be done in the Swedish society. Feministic initiative began as an organization and established a political party and participated in the election during the year 2006, but failed to reach a place in the parliament.

TitleThe profession of Children's Librarians. Identity and vocation.AbstractThe aim of this Master's thesis is to investigate the professional identity of Children's Librarians in order to contribute to a deeper understanding to the professions of librarians. This places the thesis in the field of Library and Information Science that studies the profession. The definition we use to understand profession suggests that all librarians take an active part in negotiating their professional role and library enterprise.Our empirical material consists of interviews with eight Children's Librarians. Using a qualitative method was the best way to gain an understanding for the participant's own experiences of their professional identity.

Efter att jag besökt museum med barnverksamheter blev jag intresserad av att ha konstsamtal med barn. Men när jag provat detta under praktiken i G5 kände jag att jag ville fördjupa mig ännu mer i konstarbete med barn. Syftet med den här studien var att ta reda på hur jag som lärare kan utveckla barns kreativitet och bildspråkliga medvetenhet. Men eftersom jag inte mött någon litteratur som beskriver konstarbete utifrån barns perspektiv ville jag även undersöka hur barnen upplevde att arbeta utifrån en konstnär. Jag valde att ha Miró som utgångspunkt då jag tror att hans abstrakta konst tilltalar barn eftersom den är full av fantasi och kreativitet.

No one believes in Åkesson - a comparative study on the evening press and the publicservice reporting on the Swedish Democrats before the 2014 election.The purpose of this essay was to study how Aftonbladet and Ekot reports about the SwedishDemocrats before the election 2014, as well as comparing the two medias and reasoningabout their agendas towards the party. The tabloid, Aftonbladet, is one of the biggestnewspapers in Sweden, which depends on counter sales and commercials. Ekot, which is apart of public service, is state-funded and regulated by certain guidelines. Using aquantitative method we studied 80 articles, and through a qualitative method, six of thearticles were analyzed to reach a deeper understanding. The theories primary used in thisstudy were agenda-setting and framing, to stress the power of media.
