The Swedish Lapphund is one of our eleven Swedish domestic breeds of dogs and one of Sweden?s oldest dogbreeds. The Finnish Lapphund?s origin and physical conformation is similar to that of the Swedish Lapphund. One aim of this study was to examine whether the average litter size differs between these two closely related breeds, and if so, try to find causes for this.

This study examines if the prediction of cardiovascular disease in hypertensive patients can be improved upon when renal function and microalbuminuria are added to the classical risk factors The predictive capability of a model is measured by discrimination, calibration, reclassification and Harrell's C.The results are ambigious. In most cases, microalbuminuria should be included in the model, but the results regarding the other measures of renal function are varied. Denna examensrapport är gjord på uppdrag av NCC framtagen som en logistisk utvärdering, inriktad på leverans och montage av betongstommen till utbyggnationen av Hageby Centrum i Norrköping.Det speciella med projektet i Hageby Centrum är att NCC vänt sig till en utländsk leverantör av betongstomme istället för en inhemsk leverantör. Detta får stora logistiska konsekvenser eftersom det är så stor volym av prefabricerade betongelement, och att planera in närmare 900 lastbilsleveranser från Lettland till Sverige är omöjligt. Istället har NCC valt det relativt oprövade alternativet att skeppa betongelementen med båt. Även detta medför problem då betongelementen inte kan levereras direkt på grund av utrymmesskäl på byggplatsen, vilket gör att de först måste lagerhållas i Norrköpings hamn fram till dess att det är dags för montering.Resultatet av rapporten redovisar vad uppkomna problem för projektet beror på. Rapporten kan även vara till hjälp för framtida projekt då det kan vara aktuellt att återigen vända sig till en utländsk leverantör.

Detta arbete syftade till att validera en metod för analys av interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1 RA) i plasma från häst. Med en fungerande analysmetod finns möjligheten att använda IL-1 RA som biomarkör för antiinflammatoriska effekter av läkemedel exempelvis dexametason. En kommersiell ELISA framtagen för analys av IL-1 RA hos häst användes vid valideringen. Analysmetoden var tidigare endast validerad för analys av IL-1 RA i spädningsmedium från tillverkaren. Vid validering av metoden framställdes standardkurvor i spädningsmedium från tillverkaren (reagent diluent=RD) samt i olika biologiska medier från häst. Beräkning av standardkurvorna utfördes med hjälp av linjär regression och innefattade intervallet 0,313 ? 20 ng/mL.

In this essay we have approached the problem with retailer brands that copy marketing leaders to get consumers attention in the storeshelf. We have sought to explore how much a designed package would change the consumers opinion of a brand and if this effect is different depending on if the brand is a retailer brand or a market leader. Also we sought to find if this effect would be greater with a salient color on the package. We made a quantitative study and with regression analysis we found that a designed package did have effect on the consumers opinion of the brand, and that the design with the salient color made the biggest effect..

The Sub-Saharan countries have for a long time struggled with poverty and conflicts which might have proven hostile for investors. The analysis aims to see if there is a significant correlation between foreign direct investments (FDI) and economic growth and which cultural and institutional factors seem to be significant in this correlation. Considered are also other variables and their influence that might explain what motivates and gives incentives for foreign direct investments (FDI) and are used in the construction of a regression analysis. This to see whether there is an effect on the economic growth in relations to FDI. The results show that FDI is of significance to the economic growth in the region and the study shows that corruption seems to be the most significant institutional factor in the correlation with effect on economic growth and the ability to attract FDI..

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka om det finns någon mätbar korrelation mellan kiselalgskomplexet Fragilaria capucinas storlek och halten av fosfor i det vattendrag där de lever. Om ett samband finns kan detta efter ytterligare studier komma att bli användbart inom miljöövervakningen då bland annat vattendragens eutrofieringsgrad ska undersökas. Studien baseras på arkiverade kiselalgspreparat som finns på Institutionen för vatten och miljö (IVM). Arton prover med varierande fosforhalter valdes ut, och tjugo F. capucina räknades i varje prov.

På bara några decennier har kravet på utbildning vuxit markant och därmed också antalet universitetsstuderande. Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att undersöka huruvida det lönar sig att vidareutbilda sig på universitetsnivå och i vilken utsträckning det finns skillnader för män respektive kvinnor inom en mans och en kvinnodominerad utbildning. Fyra regressioner har genomförts. Därefter har en jämförelse skett mellan de olika livsinkomsternas nuvärden. Livsinkomsten har räknats fram genom att subtrahera nuvärdet av alternativkostnaderna från nuvärdet av livsinkomsterna.

The purpose of this study was to examine by means of Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI), the relationship between Neuroticism, and self-rated eating problems. Altogether 105 respondents, mean aged 42,3 years, including 11 men and 94 women, participated by answering an Internet-based questionnaire comprising three different sections. Neuroticism correlated with self-rated eating problems (r=,468, p.
