The ways designers work with craftsmen in other countries can vary alot,but still there are many similarities. In this study we make comparisonsbetween a number of projects involving three different designers and artisansin other countries and parallel that to our own work in South Africa.What we have seen is that there is some common denominators betweenthe different projects that are being taken care of in different ways.Some things that commonly attract the designers seem to be the skills ofthe craftsmen, as well as their colouring, patterns and materials. A furthercommon denominator in the projects is that people?s perception of qualityhas become an important issue. The products that are being developedare often sold in the country of the designer, and therefore a needto insure that the quality of the products is up to the standards expectedin that certain country has occurred.

Detta arbete syftar till att få ökad kunskap om hur lärare beskriver att de arbetar för att möta andraspråkselever i deras språkutveckling samt vilka stödstrukturer lärarna beskriver att de använder i utvecklingen av elevernas skolspråk. Jag anser att det är viktigt område att belysa då forskare anser att skolspråket är en bidragande faktor till att andraspråkselever som grupp, presterar sämre än enspråkiga elever i den svenska skolan. I min undersökning har jag använt mig av den kvalitativa intervjun som metod och intervjuat sex verksamma lärare som arbetar i grundskolans tidigare år. Resultatet av empirin visar att lärarna ansåg att avsaknaden av den språkliga basen utgjorde ett hinder för andraspråkseleverna i utvecklingen av skolspråket, vilket bidrog till att lärarna insåg vikten av att arbeta med att utvidga basen, parallellt med skolspråket. Resultatet visade vidare att informanterna använde sig utav olika stödstrategier som enligt informanterna utvecklar andraspråkselevernas skolspråk.

AbstractSwedish tuition for immigrants (SFI) is a public adult education program in Sweden that was created in order to provide the immigrants with basic skills in Swedish. People with different backgrounds speaking different languages learn together how they should communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing. For those who teach SFI it is important to know which factors have positive effects on the Swedish language acquisition. One of the questions to be asked is if the learning materials´ genre has any effect on the SFI students´ proficiency, in particular, oral proficiency. Scientists as von Franz, Vygotskiy and Bettelheim argued that fairy tales, as a genre consciously or subconsciously recognizable by all the people, present texts that are easy to acqiure.

The purpose of the present investigation was to identify how knowledge about goal-setting is developed and applied in practice of male players in the Swedish national floorball team, by using a qualitative methodology. Participants were 6 players playing for the Swedish national team. They were asked to respond to the interview questions in relation to their perception of setting goals for a successful outcome in sports, how their goal- setting process has developed and how they deal with goal setbacks and goal attainment. Results revealed that Swedish national players in floorball employed goal setting often for both individual and team goals in practice and competition. In addition, many interesting findings regarding the process of goal setting emerged in the result.

Palliative care is a care that focuses on providing end of life care but not to delay or hasten death. Despite training, nurses often show a lack of knowledge in attitude, ethics and healthcare issues of palliative care. The nurse in palliative care has a central role in caring of the dying patient and therefore a big responsibility. However, palliative care is a low priority in basic training. The aim of this study is to investigate the roles of nurses in palliative care and if there is a need for increased education in the subject.

Målet med detta examensarbete är att ta fram en lösning som gör det möjligt att utforma fönster och bostadshus i olika stil och fortfarande kunna bygga enligt energihusprinciper. En röd stuga med vita knutar och fönster som ser likadana ut i alla väderstreck är ett exempel. I lågenergihus är väggar, golv och tak mycket väl isolerade, de har ett mycket lågt U-värde. Fönster och dörrar, som har ett jämförelsevis högt U-värde, bryter detta klimatskal, vilket gör dem till kritiska punkter för energiläckage. Fönster ger upphov till önskade och oönskade energiflöden, till exempel dagsljus, värmeförluster, strålningsvärme och luftutbyte. I energihus är det särskilt viktigt att kunna kontrollera dessa flöden för att uppnå komfort och minimera energiförlusterna. Arbetet resulterade i IsoSol, en utvändig jalusi som rullas upp ovan fönstret och döljs i väggkonstruktionen när den inte används.

Grenrören i en motor utsätts för stora termiska och mekaniska belastningar, vilka gör att grenrören ofta spricker. Idag kan inte sprickbildningen fullständigt uttydas ur beräkningarna, syftet med arbetet är därför att se om dessa kan förbättras genom att använda en mer avancerad krypmodell än den som används idag.Ett förslag till krypmodell har tagits genom att studera ett antal i litteraturen funna modeller. De som valts ut är modeller enligt Norton, Bailey-Norton, Marin-Pao, Picket och Findley. Parametrarna i de olika modellerna har bestämts genom kurvanpassning av enaxliga prov på de aktuella grenrörsmaterialen. Resultaten visar att modellerna enligt Marin-Pao, Picket och Findley alla kan beskriva mätkurvorna nästan exakt.

Det övergripande syftet är att beskriva betydelsen av yrkesprofessionell handledning i socialt arbete. Syften preciseras utifrån tre frågeställningar; att beskriva och skapa förståelse för hur socialarbetare upplever yrkesprofessionell handledning, att beskriva och skapa förståelse för hur socialarbetare upplever handledarens roll, och att beskriva och skapa förståelse för varför grupphandledning upplevs som en viktig del i den yrkesprofessionella handledningen. För att söka svar tillämpades halvstrukturerade intervjuer i samtal med socialarbetarna. Analysmetoden är inspirerad av grundad teori. I analysprocessen tolkades det empiriska materialet utifrån ett systemteoretiskt perspektiv.Resultatet visar att yrkesprofessionell handledning ger möjlighet till reflektion, vilket är utvecklande för socialarbetares kompetens i arbetet i med klienterna.

The aim of this study is to analyze why social workers choose to study to becomefamily therapists and how individual motives and structural motive power influencesocial workers before, during and after the education and how the education affectsthe working role and the social work. Through theoretical studies and qualitativeinterwievs with becoming and fully trained family therapists I have come to that socialworkers have individual motives i.e appropriate working skills and a thirst ofknowledge. They have strived for deepened knowledge of the work and personaldevelopment, strengthened professionalism and raised working status. The structuralmotive powers have been i.e raised salary and changed, more attractive workingtasks. Legitimation and possibility to run your own company are both a motive and astructural motive power.

Syftet med undersökningen är attöka förståelsen för operatörers möjligheter, hinder samt drivkrafter tilllärande i en lean organiserad verksamhet. För attundersöka detta har vi brutit ner syftet i följande frågeställningar: (1) Vadfinns det för möjligheter, hinder samt drivkrafter till lärande utifrånperspektivet arbetets utformning och autonomi? (2) Vad finns det förmöjligheter, hinder samt drivkrafter till lärande utifrån perspektivetledningens stöd? (3) Vad finns det för möjligheter, hinder samt drivkraftertill lärande utifrån perspektivet samverkan och team?(4) Vad finns det för möjligheter, hinder samt drivkrafter till lärande utifrånperspektivet kompetens? Vi har i denna undersökning använt oss av kvalitativmetod och genomfört kvalitativa intervjuer med arbetsledare, teamledarekoordinator, teamledare och operatörer. Resultatet visar attoperatörsarbetet i många delar har en hög grad av standardisering, vilket å enasidan kan innebära att individen lär sig att bemästraen viss uppgift men det kan även bli ett hinder för ett mer utvecklingsinriktatlärande. Samtidigt framkom faktorer som möjliggör ett mer utvecklingsinriktat lärande i arbetet.

Swedish agricultural businesses are facing challenges in order to achieve long-term profitability. The opportunity to improve profitability and efficiency on farm level may be enhanced by management. One way to work with leadership is to use Lean. It is a management system that aims to improve competitiveness. Currently, there is a project where Lean is implemented into 100 agricultural firms.

This master?s thesis concerns the performance of professional children?s theatre in public libraries. With qualitative interviews I have looked into how four children?s librarians and two theatre consultants appreciate professional children?s theatre, and furthermore I have looked into their view on the importance of theatre for children. My intentions have also been to investigate their views on the function and status of children?s theatre in public libraries and also the relationship between library and theatre activities for children.

This thesis deals with the numerical 3D simulation of a four stroke, spark-ignited, internalcombustion engine, which is mounted on a high performance motorcycle. The work, carried outin collaboration with Politecnico di Milano and MV Agusta, focuses on the simulation of theintake, compression and expansion stroke, including combustion simulation, using an opensource CFD code.Simulation of internal combustion engines offers a great challenge in the field of CFD research.Moving boundaries of the solution domain, caused by the motion of the piston and valves, leadsto deformation of the computational grid, with decreasing quality of the solution as result. Basedon this, a previously developed mesh motion strategy was employed where a number of meshesare used to cover the whole simulation cycle. Within each mesh interval the internal cell pointsof the mesh are moved to account for the boundary motion of the piston and valves. This strategywas previously applied to simplified geometries as well as real engine geometries.

The purpose of this thesis is to systematically describe and map how authorities define the school library and its function based on the current policy documents for the Swedish upper secondary school. The study is guided by the following questions: ? What dimensions does the school library have according to the explicit definitions, descriptions and requirements? ? What implicit arguments, references and unspoken assumptions about the school library and its role, function and significance can be derived? The study is delimited to the national policy documents, which have been divided into two groups ? structural and teaching focused ? corresponding to the two questions above. Further delimitations have been made to avoid noise and to manage a manual content analysis. Each question required its own analysis tool.
