The purpose of this essay is to examine whether the descriptions of Stalin's terror in history textbooks for high school changed from the 1950s until the 2010s. Since previous research shows that textbook content is influenced from different directions and that it dominates in teaching, therefore I want to find out what similarities and differences that exist in the textbooks. The survey is based on a qualitative approach because I want to have a profound picture of the descriptions of Stalin's terror. The results of the survey show that the number of casualties and the descriptions on the famine has changed over time. Furthermore, textbooks also found it difficult to distinguish between terror, politics and ideology.

We are constantly being fed information. Everything and everyone we come into contact with may somehow make a new impression on us, whether we are aware of it or not. One of the ways that people in today?s society in Sweden are being given information is via different types of media, for example through commercials. Whether it?s a video clip or a still-frame picture, a commercial is an effective way for a company to reach out to potential customers.However, it is not only the messages or signals that may appear obvious that these companies send out when advertising with commercials.

The purpose of this study was to gain knowledge and a picture of how foster parents perceive their task, the role of the placed children and their biological parents.  Even how they perceived their family have been affected by the mandates removal. Consistently showed the most positive experiences with strong ties to the children placed. However, there are experiences of the need for additional guidance, support, education and contact with the client to enhance a sense of competence in the task and prevent collapse. Burnout experienced often based in the placed child's difficulties in integration.

Vardagsbeslut att ta cykeln exempelvis till arbetet leder till att koldioxidutsläpp kan reduceras. Cykling kan därmed bidra till att uppfylla viktiga miljömål. Cykling främjar hälsa.

From autumn 2008 Sweden has reinstalled the Special Education Needs teacher education. For future special education teachers and active teachers in the field, it is important to know the history and be aware of future visions to create a good role for the Special Education Needs teachers. This study examines attitudes towards special education and Special Education Needs teachers amongst school principals and classroom teachers at seven schools in Umeå municipality. School principals were interviewed, and a survey was handed out amongst the selected General Education teachers. From this it appears that school principals have a picture of special needs education and Special Education Needs teachers' work that corresponds well with the objectives of the school's governing documents.

Den här undersökningen har sin grund i den pedagogiska dokumentation som samlat in vid ett tidigare estetiskt projektarbete, i kursen Förskoledidaktik med inriktning mot etik och estetik, hösten 2011, vid Stockholms universitet. Arbetet utfördes på en småbarnsavdelning vid en förskola i en av Stockholms norra förorter. Syftet med den här undersökningen var att synliggöra vad det var för meningsskapande som visade sig när de allra yngsta barnen på eget initiativ använde sig av fotografierna i pedagogisk dokumentation. Utifrån ett rikt kvalitativt material har en systematisk genomgång skett av fältdagbok, stillbilder och videofilmer varefter avgränsning skett till att endast undersöka Fredriks tio meningsskapande möten som visade hur han på eget initiativ använde sig av fotografierna i pedagogisk dokumentation. Det var framförallt de möten som benämns (i) Barninitierad dialog utifrån fotografi och (ii) Fotografierna lockar barnen till samma görande som den visualiserat beskriver, som Fredrik använde sig av då han ville skapa sig mening.

Bakgrund: Att åldras medför ofta en naturlig begränsning av aktiviteter. I alla kommuner i Sverige skall socialnämnderna verka för att gruppen äldre människor får behålla sin självständighet under trygga förhållanden och ha en aktiv och meningsfull tillvaro i gemenskap med andra. Äldres livskvalitet påverkas av att ha ett socialt nätverk och delta i aktiviteter. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att beskriva samband mellan socialt nätverk och levnadsvanor hos äldre. Metod: Studien bygger på datamaterial ur SNAC (The Swedish National Study on Aging and Care) som är en pågående studie. I studien har datamaterial från 1372 deltagare använts. Data bearbetades med hjälp av SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) i en kvantitativ metod med hjälp av Spearmans rangkorrelation. Resultat: Resultatet visar att variabler valda med anknytning till socialt nätverk korrelerar med variabler valda ur deltagarnas levnadsvanor.

The purpose ot this study is to investigate how two teachers of fifth grade say they are working with reading comprehension in their teaching. Furthermore the aim is to investigate how the teachers' instruction in reading cmprehension expresses itself. The study was conducted from a teachers perspective and the questions that the stydy will answer are: How do two teachers in fifth grade believe they should teach in order to develop reading comprehension among their own students, and what methods, activities and materials are the teachers using in order to develop students' reading omprehension in the educational practise. The methods used during the study were interviews and observations. The observations were made in order to complete the picture from the interviews.

Varje år insjuknar i Sverige mer än 700 barn och ungdomar under 19 år i diabetes typ 1. Det är en av de vanligaste kroniska sjukdomarna hos barn och ungdomar och fortsätter kontinuerligt att öka. Sjukdomen påverkar på olika sätt hela livssituationen. Det krävs mycket stöd, vägledning och undervisning för att hantera sitt liv efter insjuknandet. Att som tonåring insjukna eller leva med diabetes typ 1 är svårt.

This essay is an in-depth, qualitative study concerned with questions about female ?class-travellers?. A class-traveller is a person who is born and raised in a particular social class but changes his/her social belonging through studies, marriage etc. In this study I have interviewed three female class-travellers, all of which have made their ?journey? through studies at the University of Lund.The study is an attempt to enrich the research-field of class-travelling by applying a feminist perspective, and by making women's voices about class-travelling heard.

SammanfattningSyftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva behandlingsmetoder och dess effekter för barn och ungdomar med övervikt och fetma. Data samlades in via databasen Medline/Pubmed och 14 artiklar inkluderades i resultatet. Resultatet delades sedan in i olika kategorier. Resultatet visar att det finns olika typer av behandlingsmetoder för barn och ungdomar med övervikt och fetma dock, ger de olika resultat. Kirurgiskbehandling har visats sig ha god effekt trots dess biverkningar.

This study examines the effects of a person's appearence on grading. 80 teachers in Swedish have assessed a text, illustrated with a picture of the supposed author. The pictures were varied by attractiveness, personality in looks, and gender. Furthermore, a text illustrated by a drawing and an unillustrated text were also used in the study. The texts were sent to the teachers by e-mail and assessed on a scale from 1-10 and the Swedish grading scale IG-MVG (Did not pass ? Passed ? Passed with credit - Passed with great credit).

The aim of this study has been to investigate actors? methods for acquiring information that is necessary for their profession, with a focus on the more random methods they might possibly use. The study is based on the following questions: What information needs do actors have in relation to their profession? Which methods do actors use to procure information? Which information systems do actors use? What role does the library play in the actors? acquisition of information? Through an interview study with 10 informants a picture is formed of the actors? information behavior. With the help of theoretical ideas regarding random methods of acquisition, we describe which information needs actors have and how they acquire that information.

This Masters thesis aims at presenting a picture of, and critically examining, the Swedish debate concerning the public library and the future by way of 21 articles in three library periodicals. The questions examined are: -What are the views concerning the future public library in Swedish library press? -What characterizes the debate and why? Theories on political institutions and information society are used and the method is hermeneutic, a type of idea-analysis. The first step in the analysis consists of a categorized presentation of the material. The themes concern the form and content of the library as well as competence and hopes/fears.

Total mixed rations (TMR) and TMR complemented with individual grain feeding to dairy cows are a growing practice in Sweden. This is because the heard sizes of the farms are increasing. Some farmers and farm advisors in Sweden have great knowledge and practical experience of working with TMR. In the same time there are many advisors that do not know how to handle TMR and farms that have a group based feeding of their animals. In this MSc thesis, the knowledge of farmers that use TMR and advisors with lots of experience of TMR are gathered, with the aim to create a guide book for advisors that are about to start or just have started working with TMR.
