Bakgrund: Postoperativ smärta är en subjektiv och unik upplevelse. Faktorer som oro och ångest kan bidra till att smärtupplevelsen förstärks. Vid omvårdnad av postoperativa patienter har sjuksköterskan en central roll. Utifrån ett helhetsperspektiv ska hon, med sin kliniska blick samt vetenskapligt beprövad erfarenhet, bedöma smärta, identifiera patientens behov av lindring samt utvärdera dess effekt. Syfte: Studiens syfte är att belysa de rutiner och strategier som sjuksköterskan använder sig av för att bedöma, lindra och utvärdera postoperativ smärta hos nyopererade patienter.

The aim of this master thesis is to examine readers? advice in weblogs - frequently modified web pages with a series of archived entries. We have chosen to study a specific kind of entry that contains information about a book of fiction- not for children and young adults - and the bloggers? comments regarding that same book. The entries are published in ten weblogs that all deal with literature and reading.

This is a product development project which has developed a prototype in order to facilitate for people using mobility devices when they want to buy a larger quantity of groceries. The prototype is a shopping cart composed with the upper part of a walker.Today there are many different types of mobility devices used by elderly and people with physical impairment. According to Myndigheten för samhällsskydd och beredskap (MSB) are accidental falls the most common cause of accidents in Sweden.This project has been using Computer Aided Design (CAD) as a tool to create a visual image of the prototype. The advantage of this is to modify the functionality and performance of the prototype on the computer before the modification takes place in the real model. Using human manikins, the CAD model was rendered in natural surroundings to get as true a picture as possible.

Abstract:Theoretical framework:  The Theory of Suffering by Katie Eriksson was used.Aim: The aim was to illuminate factors that influence women?s choice to seek care for urinary incontinence.Method: This literature review was based on a sample of nine qualitative and quantitative studies. Modified templates were used to assess the quality of the studies. Analysis of the results was done withmanifest content analysis.Findings: Findings made clear that the experience of shame is a central factor for women not to seek treatment for their urinary incontinence UI. Women had to have severe loss of quality of life in order to seek help for their UI, and the loss of quality of life had to be subjectively larger than the feeling of shame.

Övervikt och fetma är ett snabbt växande folkhälsoproblem som medför ökad risk för psykosocialt lidande och många allvarliga sjukdomar. Särskilt oroande är att övervikt och fetma allt oftare drabbar barn och ungdomar. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka om det finns ett samband mellan Body Mass Index (BMI) och Känsla Av SAMmanhang (KASAM) hos elever i skolår 9, samt att analysera kön och psykosociala faktorers (familje- och kamratrelationer) eventuella inverkan på relationen BMI och KASAM.Det statistiska materialet är hämtat från undersökningen ?Liv och hälsa - Ung 2004 Västmanland? där KASAM- skalan med 13 frågor används. Analysmetoden är en multipel regression.Resultaten indikerar svaga samband mellan variablerna.

Denna undersökning syftar till att undersöka vad leverantörerna anser om sina kunder. Förhållandena mellan företag och leverantör utvecklas konstant. Det är lämpligt att företagen strävar efter att minska antalet leverantörer samtidigt som de ökar samarbetet med dem som är kvar. För att undersöka vad leverantörerna har för åsikter om sina kunder genomfördes en ostrukturerad intervju med leverantörerna där de fick berätta vad de tyckte var de viktigaste egenskaperna hos en kund. Utifrån dessa egenskaper, teoretiska aspekter och fallföretagets kärnvärden konstruerades det en enkät.Innan utskicket visade det sig att det fanns en undertäckning på ett antal företag till följd av att fallföretaget inte hade möjlighet att få fram kontaktpersoner till alla leverantörer.

This thesis has the purpose of developing a normative theoretical framework based on different political philosophers and scientists view on deliberative democratic theory, discourse ethics and a modified norm of citizenship. This framework is supposed to contain the ideal communicative situation for people seeking asylum. Hence, the thesis argues that political influence is best practised through communicative rights, and that people seeking asylum are in title to such rights. We conclude that the standards needed to be met in order to reach the ideal are: translators, translated information, arenas for- or channels of communication, language education, and deliberative education. Once the framework is established we focus our interest on the Swedish state.

The world is getting smaller. Global markets, political processes and communication technology bring people together. Even though many of these processes are dynamic and constructive, they have also resulted in a need for better and more effective ways of international conflict resolution. This thesis investigates central issues connected to the concept of humanitarian interventions in relation to current and future legislation of the European Union. The overall question is whether the rapid globalization process has resulted in a change of international law towards more liberal view where authorization of the security council is not always needed? And, if there has actually been such a liberalization, how does that affect the legal possibilities for the European Union to carry out armed operations without the consent of the global community? The conclusion of the thesis is that international law has been modified mainly in two aspects: First, the concept of sovereignty is no longer seen merely as a right of the nation, but also as a responsibility.

Fotboll är en av de största sporterna i världen med över 250 miljoner licensierade spelare varav ca 26 miljoner är damer. Skadefrekvensen är hög och skadepanoramat skiljer sig åt mellan damer och herrar. Två vanligt förekommande skador inom damfotbollen är ACL samt fotledsdistorsion, och en av de vanligaste traumatiska skadorna är hjärnskakning. Därför är det som sjukgymnast av stor vikt att arbeta med preventiva åtgärder mot dessa skador. Syftet med studien var att sammanställa evidens för preventiva åtgärder för ACL, fotledsdistorsion och hjärnskakning inom damfotboll.

The aim of our Master´s thesis is to investigate the development of the different libraries in the former communities of Flisby and Lofta during the former part of the twentieth century. We ask the following questions:How did the libraries in Flisby and Lofta develop between the years of 1905 and 1952?How can we understand the libraries? dependency of funding of different kinds? We have used case study as a method, and we have adopted a source criticism approach. We have mainly used our local archives and among other things we have investigated various sorts of protocols, annual reports, auditor?s reports and the accounts that were sent to the Board of Education.

Syftet med studien var att jämföra skattad livskvalitet hos patienter med kranskärlssjukdom före och efter genomgången 12 månaders hjärtrehabilitering samt att jämföra skattad livskvalitet hos kvinnor och män. Urvalet bestod av 117 patienter (35 kvinnor och 82 män) som deltog i hjärtrehabiliteringen vid Hälsoinvest Högbo AB under åren 1996-2001. För skattning av livskvalitet användes formuläret QLQ-AP (Quality of Life Questionnaire - Angina Pectoris). QLQ-AP är ett sjukdomsspecifikt formulär och de 22 frågorna är indelade i fyra olika skalor: fysisk aktivitet, somatiska symtom, emotionellt och tillfredsställelse med livet. Huvudresultatet i studien visade att deltagarna (n=117) efter genomgången rehabilitering skattade en signifikant förbättrad livskvalitet för totalskalan samt för samtliga delskalor avseende QLQ-AP.

The purpose of this study is to examine to what extent there is a discrepancy between the formal guiding documents and the employees experiences of the activity at Kronobergshäktet. Furthermore, is it possible that any discrepancy could be explained by institutional imbalance? My main theories are normative institutionalism and a modified type of institutional analysis. The model consists of three parts ?values (a common value-system), rules and practice (the unpredictable reality) and it assumes a reciprocal relationship between them.

The goal of this master thesis is to show the benefit of using computer games of the type First Person Shooter, FPS in the field of military simulations. The main focus in this is around a couple of topics. Creating the AI that controls the behaviour of the computer-controlled characters, the bots. Create an environment where it is possible to supervise the bots and also design a framework that enables cooperation between a group of bots, a squad. The result is Total Unreal Studio, TUS, a program where it is possible to add bots to a squad, connect them to a game server and inspect what the bots are doing.

At Degermyran landfill, situated in the municipal Skellefteå, a leachate treatment system was installed in 2005. One of the aims of this study was to investigate how well the treatment system works by using data from chemical measurements made on the leachate before and after treatment. Further this study had the purpose of investigating how the predicted climate changes of the 21st century will affect the amount of leachate generated at Degermyran by using a modified version of Thornthwaites water balance model. The treatment system has the ability of reducing manganese by 90 %, nitrogen by 73 % och TOC by 79 %. By the turn of this century the amount of precipitation that percolates the waste at Degermyran will be between 254 and 298 mm, depending on the amount of greenhouse gases that will be released in the future to come.

SAMMANFATTNING Bakgrund: Sömn är grundläggande för att människor ska uppleva hälsa och välbefinnande.Syftet: Att undersöka sömnrutiners och omgivande faktorers betydelse för god sömn hos patienter på rehabiliteringsklinik.                                                                                      Metod: En kvantitativ deskriptiv tvärsnittsstudie genomfördes med hjälp av en enkätundersökning på två rehabiliteringskliniker i Stockholm. Patienterna (n=33) togs ut enligt konsekutiv ordning utifrån att de bedömdes kunna fylla i enkäten (adekvata, orienterade till tid och rum, förstod svenska språket). Enkäten, ett validerat och reliabelt redan befintligt frågeformulär, Karolinska Sleep Questionaire (KSQ) användes efter omarbetning.     Resultat: Den sammanlagda bedömningen av sömnen utifrån de fyra indexen, sömnkvalitetsindex, uppvaknandebesvärsindex, snarkbesvärsindex och sömnighets/trötthetsindex visade att det var 76 % som ansåg sig ha dålig sömn.
