One of these algorithms is Iterated Local Search (ILS) (Lourenco et al., 2002; Stützle, 1999a, p. 25ff), a recent easy to implement but powerful algorithm with results comparable or superior to other state-of-the-art methods for many combinatorial optimisation problems, among them the Traveling Salesman (TSP) and Quadratic Assignment Problem (QAP). ILS iteratively samples local minima by modifying the current local minimum and restartinga local search porcedure on this modified solution. This thesis will show how ILS can be implemented for MSA.

Successful broiler production in hot climates requires knowledge of how birds are affected by heat stress. It is important with access to water and good ventilation to facilitate coping with the heat. It may be useful to reduce the consumption of feed during the hottest hours of the days, which together with a few hours of extra light available could improve both productivity and animal welfare. The vision in birds is superior to that of humans and most other mammals. Continuous light and light with low intensity can cause eye injuries, affect the eye development in young chicken negatively, as well as provide increased incidence of foot pad lesions. Konkurrensen på dagens varumarknad är hård, studier gjorda av bl. a. Robert G Cooper visar att en stor del av produktlanseringarna misslyckas. Speciellt nya företag är hårt utsatta i denna miljö i och med att de ofta saknar de ekonomiska och organisatoriska resurser som de etablerade företagen innehar.

Sjuksköterskan har ett stort ansvar när det gäller patienters smärtlindring då det är sjuksköterskan som bedömer smärtan efter att patienten fått skatta den på exempelvis en smärtskattningsskala. I vården idag sker missuppfattningar om äldre patienters förmåga att känna smärta och sjuksköterskan har en tendens att bedöma smärtan mildare än vad den är. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att finna och beskriva smärtskattningsskalor som är lämpade för äldre patienter samt att jämföra smärtskattningsskalorna med varandra. Resultatet visar att patienter med viss grad av kognitiv nedsatthet har förmåga att bruka en smärtskattningsskala och att den skala som har bäst reliabilitet, genomförbarhet och som föredras mest är Iowa Pain Thermometer (IPT). Den minst föredragna skalan hos äldre och den som har sämst validitet, reliabilitet och genomförbarhet är Visual Analoge Scale (VAS)..
