These studies are done in behalf of Saab AB AVITRONICS in Järfälla in the form of a thesis atthe Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.The task was to examine the parameters that plays a role in the construction of modern radomesoperating in broadband applications.This was interesting for Saab to get an indication of which way they should go at the newdevelopment of radomes for the next generation of equipment for electronic warfare.After a thorough analysis of the influencing parameters, a optimization application was made toget a automated way to get a radome design by specifying data on the radome size, airloads,materials, etc.This is to minimise the time of the laborious work that radome development.inply.This was solved by letting ANSYS calculate the strength of the radome structure and MATLABcalculate electromagnetic data and cost models of different sizes and materials.All these parameters woven together with the optimization tool modeFrontier picks data from therespective program and perform an optimization algorithm and then iterate a step and sends thisdata to calculation programs for the new input data. In the end, we have received a convergedpoint with our optimal solution.For the presumptions and limitations for which applied for this thesis, the result was prettyintuitive. That is to say that the smaller radome - the less materal is needed and lowermanufacturing costs results in the cheapest solution possible. The reality is not so simple. This bachelor thesis examines the library as a public sphere in the notion of Jürgen Habermas? theory from 1962. The questions asked concerns how the public sphere is discussed in relation to Swedish public libraries today in our late modern society. The analyzed material consists of the Swedish Cultural Bill of 2009 and five qualitative interviews with librarians. The material is analyzed with two of the four social actions presented by the sociologist Maw Weber: value-rational and instrumental.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att öka förståelsen för taktisk kompetens som omhändertar den inneboende komplexiteten i militär verksamhet. Problemet häri är att kompetens kan anses vara något sällsynt och att inkompetens snarare är normalbilden.Uppsatsen tar sig an detta arbete genom att operationalisera Bertil Rolfs teorier om militär kompetens och Stephen Biddles teori om the Modern System. Ur detta teoretiska utblicksblicksfönster utfaller ett analysfilter bestående av kategorierna praktisk kunskap, professionell kunskap, regler och praktik inom institutioner och traditioner. Huruvida dessa kan utgöra en grund för förståelsen av taktisk kompetens analyseras därefter med stöd av Israel Defense Forces taktiska prestationer under det andra Libanonkriget 2006.Resultatet är att taktisk kompetens är möjlig att förstå utifrån förutsättningarna att hantera den föränderliga helheten. Taktisk kompetens handlar om de organisatoriska villkoren att kritiskt granska och reflektera över rådande förhållanden och förutsättningarna för att åstadkomma förändring och utveckling.

According to tradition transcribed music is an important part of the repertoar for the classical guitar. Baroque music as well as compositions from the Spanish national romantic era are the two most important sources for transcriptions. My research is aimed at finding answers concerning the relevance of transcribing as well as playing different styles of music on the guitar. Are there any basic rules how these transcriptions should be made? I have chosen to take a closer look at the music of J S Bach as a representative of the baroque period because of the great legacy of his music being played on guitar and lute.

The aim of this master thesis is to investigate the ideas about functions that public libraries have in the local society. We have used the method idea analysis on four municipal library plans, to find out which ideas about library functions that frequented each plan, and what similarities and differences there were between the ideas about functions in each plan. As a theoretic base, we have used a theory about three dynamic spheres in modern society: the state market and civil society, and examined how these three spheres influence and control the library functions. We have extracted six different ideas about library functions: educational, social, economical, entertaining, serving and democratic functions. The most dominating ideas in this study are ideas that the public library should be an educating and formative institution.

AbstractAim: The aim of this essay has been to study how the Swedish church has created the image of their religious activity through media. This has been by studying the three commercial campaigns launched by the Swedish church during the years 2000, 2001 and 2003. Questions asked are: How has the Swedish church chosen to profile it self? Which discourses can be recognized in the campaigns? Which messages has been communicated through the campaigns? How has these discourses created the image of the Swedish church?Method: The methodological framework is critical discourse analysis inspired by Norman Faircloughs? three-dimensional model. Thirteen images all part of the campaigns are analysed using a semiotic method.

1979 till 1989 pågick en sovjetisk militär insats i Afghanistan vars syfte var att bedriva upprorsbekämpning för att stödja den afghanska marionettregeringen. Efter 9/11 2001 blev Afghanistan återigen ett insatsområde för en amerikanskledd koalition vars syfte var att störta talibanerna och sätta en ny regering till makten. Som en följd av detta genomfördes flera markoperationer för att rensa upp de sista talibanska fästena. En av dessa operationer var Operation Anaconda. Men fanns och finns det fortfarande erfarenheter som från Sovjets insatser som kunde haft en effekt på denna operation samt liknande operationer? Syftet med denna uppsats är att utgå från de sovjetiska operationer Afghanistan 1979-1989 och påvisa framgångsfaktorer som kan användas på markoperationer inom ramen för upprorsbekämpning.

The purpose of this thesis is to describe and analyse the road towards a modern library in the southern archipelago of Gothenburg between the years 1943 and 1976. The archipelago consists of about thirty smaller and larger islands, of which seven are inhabited throughout the year. Styrsö and the surrounding islands composed a municipality of their own until 1973. In January 1974 it became a part of the municipality of Gothenburg, this is also the year when the only bridge in the archipelago was ready to be taken into use, between Donsö and Styrsö. There is no bridge between the mainland and the islands.

Att lära sig flera språk utöver sitt modersmål är viktigt idag för att det är främjar kommunikationen mellan människor från olika delar av världen. Idag i Sverige studerar många gymnasieelever ett eller flera moderna språk och på så vis får de chansen att utveckla sig språkmässigt. Men frågan i detta examensarbete är, vilka strategier använder sig gymnasieeleverna av för att lära sig ett modernt språk enligt gymnasieeleverna själva? Vad har de för minnesknep för att memorera glosorna och grammatikreglerna? Vilka delmoment av språkinlärningen tycker de är svåra respektive lätta när de lär sig ett språk? Det är svaren på de här frågorna som besvaras här via en enkätundersökning som gjorts med elever i franska steg 4 och 5, samt en referensenkätundersökning med elever i tyska steg 3. Vidare belyses tre språkforskares teorier om språkinlärning, en annan aspekt som tas upp är en aktuell forskning som har gjorts på gymnasieelevers inlärningsstrategier i moderna språk och vad det gav för resultat.

The objective of this study was to contribute with suggestions of nature preservation managements of selected forest objects of high nature values managed by the Swedish state-owned forest company Sveaskog. Many forests with high natural potential are relatively rare today due to modern forestry, where wood production is the main purpose. Sveaskog?s policy is to consider and to priority nature conservation on valuable objects. This assessment includes objects that in the future may develop into nature reserves.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine how representations of identity construction are performed through the characters in the novel Snabba Cash by author Jens Lapidus. I examine what means the characters are using, and how the identity construction processes are related to the idea of modern society. For a theoretical background I use sociologist Anthony Giddens? theories regarding modernity and self-identity, to study general identity construction.

Detta examensarbete omfattar konceptutvecklingen av en mättillsats för vattenkranen i köket, vars grundfunktion är att mäta mängden vatten. Syftet med produkten är att ersätta dagens användande av decilitermått vid vattenmätning, då decilitermåttet fortfarande fyller sin funktion inriktar sig arbetet på att utnyttja modern teknik för att med innovativa funktioner hitta nya omedvetna behov. Examensarbetet grundar sig på författarnas egen idé och behov av en sådan produkt, examensarbetet har utförts utan uppdragsgivare med handledning från tekniska högskolan i Jönköping.Rapporten beskriver hur arbetet har fortskridit från en idé till ett färdigt koncept med inriktning på designprocessen. Genomförandet innefattar att ett flertal koncept som har utvecklats med hjälp av metoder så som brainstorming och bygga-testa-metoden för att sedan sållas ut med hjälp av olika urvalsmetoder och resultera i ett slutgiltigt koncept.Det slutgiltiga konceptet resulterade i en mättillsatts som smälter in i det moderna köket. Hela konceptet har designats med målet att form ska följa funktion.

The significance of innovation gives entrepreneurs the reason to prior to the commencement of a relationship with a venture capitalist, obtain necessary insights regarding the influences such a relationship may have, in terms of innovation. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to scrutinise the influence of venture capital firms on their portfolio companies regarding their ability to be innovative. Delimitations: The intent is to study the impact of a venture capitalist from the viewpoint of its portfolio companies. In other words, what the portfolio companies have perceived as changes is our main area of concern, rather than what the venture capitalist has perceived as change.

Bränt barn är historien om den unge Bengt och dennes liv efter att hans mor plötsligt gått bort. Vi får följa Bengt genom ett års tid där ett sorgearbete efter modern tar sig i uttryck genom hämnd, svartsjuka och mycket plågande. Bengts far Knut hittar snabbt en ny fru och Bengt som till en början skyr henne som pesten inleder sedermera ett kärleksförhållande med henne. Hon blir då Bengts moderssubstitut. För mig har berättarstrukturen och karaktärsteckningen varit av särskilt intresse.
