This report describes an examination project made for the IT consultingcompany Sogeti. The purpose of the project was to develop and modify the translation tool Language Manager (LM) built by Sogeti to be used for translating applications. Employees at Sogeti considered some disadvantages with Language Manager, version 1.0 which among others was that language files for projects were saved at two locations. Partly in resource maps among with the source code of the applications and partly in a database. This was dual work for employees at Sogeti and it also caused redundancy inthe system.

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether an increasing amount of elderly immigrants will set new demands upon the public eldercare. The focus is on the officials whithin the public care of elderly in Västra Götaland district, and their experiences. A second purpose of this study is to add the experiences of the officials to former research treating the topic of elderly immigrants and their experiences of the public eldercare in Sweden.The survey has been carried out through interviewing all together seven officials working within the public care of elder in varying districts of Västra Götaland. The interviews have later been summoned under four different themes such as, ?Culture, customs and tradition?, ?Interaction and communication?, ?Information? and ?The future of the public eldercare?.The study indicates that our result based on the interviews, is in several references corresponding to former research on the topic.

Utifrån textanalyser med fokus på etnicitet och kön ämnade jag att undersöka vilken identitet som skildrades i texterna. Jag har funnit att invandrarskapet kan ses som den primära identiteten i texterna hos Latin Kings och Ken.

This text concerns itself with war, the just war theory, and the application of that doctrine on the ?war on terrorism?. I present different views on the theory's place in the discourse, its relevance for unconventional wars followed by the analyses of above mentioned empirical situation.Particular interest is given the criteria concerning proportionality, both ad bellum and in bello, due to in part its difficult nature, and the attention it has received from others. Abstract In the contemporary world of information technology you find a multitude of applications and systems covering a broad spectrum of areas of need in different companies. One effect of this multitude of programs is the difficulty to make them exchange information with each other or to collaborate, since they are developed by different programming languages for different platforms, with different standards and different data formats. Our aim with this work is to describe how it is possible to tie these programs together to make them actually communicate with each other in order to exchange information, share their native methods and also to become a part of the overall business processes. In this integration task you will, among other things, find different levels of application integration such as data level, method level, application interface level and user interface level integration. Application integration also involves hardware components, called middleware, that facilitate the physical connection between applications.

Undersökningen försöker få klarhet i hur mässhaken kom till Sverige och varifrån den kommer, men även en kortare historik om dess väg genom seklerna till nutiden. Symboliken i motiven på mässhakarna som tagits med från Kronobergs län tyds ikonografiskt och genom semiotik tyds även de tecken som finns med. Vidare jämförs en mässhake från den katolska tiden med en mässhake från den protestantiska tiden, men även om det finns några likheter mellan en modern katolsk mässhake och en mässhake från medeltiden..

The current study sought to examine if post-produced semantic memory cues are a good aid for memory recall. It also focused on remembering units with a meaning, instead of just remembering lists of words. In the current study a factual text was used where the participants were tasked with recalling as much information as possible either with the aid of cues (keywords written by the participants themselfs), computer with Internet or no aids at all. The results showed that keywords are significantly better for memory recall. The results were discussed in regards to modern models describing semantic memory.

GPGPU is a collective term for research involving general computation on graphics cards. A modern graphics card typically provides more than ten times the computational power of an ordinary PC processor. This is a result of the high demands for speed and image quality in computer games.This thesis investigates the possibility of exploiting this computational power for image processing purposes. Three well known methods where implemented on a graphics card: FFT (Fast Fourier Transform), KLT (Kanade Lucas Tomasi point tracking) and the generation of scale pyramids. All algorithms where successfully implemented and they are tree to ten times faster than correspondning optimized CPU implementation..

Denna studie syftar till att studera ordaccenter hos barn i förskoleålder med skånsk dialekt och språkstörning. I studien undersöks huruvida barnen har problem med ordaccenterna och i vilken utsträckning. Barnens yttranden bedöms perceptuellt av två lyssnargrupper och akustiskt som spektrogram, där jag tittat på grundtonskurvan. Svar söks också kring huruvida vissa ord är svårare att bedöma eller producera än andra ord och om lyssnargruppernas bedömningar skiljer sig åt.Inspelat material från 8 barn i åldrarna fyra år och åtta månader till sex år och fyra månader har presenterats för tio lyssnare. Bland de tio lyssnarna i perceptionsstudien ingick fem naiva och fem icke-naiva lyssnare.

The globalization of today?s society has enabled consumers to acquire products and services from all over the world. Global organizations have the entire world as a playfield and offer products and services across markets. Regardless perception and transparency of the global market, consumers are still individuals. Consumers may have different perceptions and ideas about products, their functions and usage.

Denna studie har flera, men sammanhängande, syften. För det första är syftet att undersöka om och i så fall varför lärare i förskoleklasser och i år ett till tre i grundskolan medvetet arbetar med sina elevers språkutveckling. För det andra är syftet att belysa hur lärarna i fråga arbetar, om förskolans och grundskolans lärare skiljer sig åt beträffande arbets- och förhållningssätt samt om och i så fall hur lärarna har förändrat sitt arbete över tid. Det visar sig att de flesta av lärarna i undersökningen ofta och medvetet arbetar med sina elevers språkutveckling. Vidare visar det sig att det språkutvecklande arbetet ofta motiveras av att lärarna vill ge eleverna redskap för en eller flera av kategorierna kommunikation, tänkande, lärande och känslobearbetning.

Detta examensarbete uppmärksammar andraspråkselevers svårigheter med att ta till sig undervisningsinnehållet på ett språk de ännu inte behärskar till fullo samt vad man som lärare kan göra för att undervisningen ska fungera trots språkliga begränsningar. Arbetet består av en litteraturgenomgång och en intervjuundersökning. Litteraturgenomgången redogör dels för forskning kring andraspråkselevers språkliga förutsättningar och hur undervisning för andraspråkselever bör utformas, dels för synpunkter från lärare med erfarenhet av att undervisa andraspråkselever. Här framkommer bl.a. att en bristande ordförståelse utgör det största hindret för förståelsen av ämnesundervisningen och att elever som lär sig ett andraspråk i skolåldern således snabbt måste utveckla ett stort ordförråd.
