Det här är ett examensarbete inom ämnet landskapsarkitektur. Det är sista delen av landskapsarkitekturutbildningen och innebär ett självständigt arbete på 20 veckor. Examensarbetet är ett idéförslag för en ny gestaltning av Stortorget i Malmö. Stortorget har flera kvaliteér som idag inte utnyttjas och står de närmaste åren inför en omvandling. Under våren 2009 utlyser Malmö stad en arkitekttävling där ett förslag antas för ny utformning av Stortorget. Malmö stad har inför omvandlingen samlat i synpunkter om Stortorget genom enkäter och genom att arrangera workshops och seminarium. Mitt arbete är ett idéförslag till en ny gestaltning som tar fasta på Stortorgets förutsättningar och sociala möjligheter. Underlag för arbetet har varit litteraturstudier, besök av referensplatser, deltagande i workshops och genomgång av enkätundersökningar. Skisser och arbetsmodell har varit delar av arbetsprocessen.

We would like to gain a more in depth knowledge of whether the modern orientations both within corporate governance and control philosophy lay the foundation for enterprises? more sustainable success. These both modern orientations are increasingly focusing on the importance of enterprises? setting of goals and visions on the basis of stake holders? interests and the employees? more active engagement in and motivation for the goal achievement. Despite these common inherent characteristics, it is not evident from current scientific debate how such integration actually emerges in the control philosophies of the enterprises.

This essay deals with how the development of society, the media society in particular, has an impact on the teaching of the subject of art. In the society of today, we are bombarded with more images than ever before. As an effect of this, the curriculum of 2011 emphasises the importance of the ability to orientate oneself in the modern society. Furthermore, it describes art not only as a practical subject, but also as a verbal and community-orientated subject. Because of sparse and dated research, the subject of art is in danger of marginalization as a school subject. The purpose of this study is to illustrate art teachers? conception of the aim of the subject of art.

Föreliggande uppsats syftar till att undersöka hur ämnesinnehåll om miljöproblem och hållbar utveckling i läroböcker ämnade för geografiundervisning förhåller sig till miljöetiska ideologier. Uppsatsens metod utgår från en ideologianalys med hjälp av idealtyper av miljöetiska ideologier. Ideologianalysen utgår ifrån att undersöka läroböckernas texter om miljöproblem och hållbar utveckling utifrån kategorierna natursyn, relation mellan människa och natur samt vad som beskrivs vara moraliskt signifikant och relatera detta till idealtyper av miljöetiska ideologier. Sammanlagt har fyra läroböcker ämnade för undervisning i den nationella kursen geografi 1 analyserats.Resultatet av läroboksanalysen visar att samtliga läroböcker främst ger uttryck för en senmodern antropocentrism och i lägre grad inslag av uttryck för ekocentrism. Uttryck för biocentrism har endast återfunnits i ett textstycke i en av läroböckerna.

Laura Mulvey was the first to suggest that women and men have different positions on the screen; men drives the plot forward, and the women are objects of masculine desire and lust.The purpose of this report was to look at and compare the two characters from the 70?s - and 80's with two characters from the 00?s - and 2010?s to gain a deeper understanding and insight into how female action heroes are presented. This will be done with the help of the questions; How is the female action heroes that are analyzed in the paper?What are the differences and similarities between the past and the present-day action heroes? Just how stereotypical are the women in their genre? The four female action heroes that were analyzed were; Princess Leia Star Wars, Sarah Connor Terminator and Lisbeth Salander Men Who Hates Women and Katniss Everdeen The Hunger Games.The four female action heroes were analyzed based on Rikke Schubarts categories (Moderarketypen, Amazon, Dotterarketypen, Ha?mnerskan and Dominatrix), the character's personal development, the character's violence and the reason for the character's.Characters from the past were more often presented as more uncertain and fragile than the modern confident characters. The female action heroes of modern times was more independent, strong, and in no need of a man in comparison with contemporary female action heroes.

Centralposthuset i Göteborg uppfördes mellan 1918-25 för att man mer effektivt skulle kunna sortera och distribuera post. Idag finns det planer på att bygga om detta tomma monumentala posthus till ett hotell. Huset och dess historia innehåller många berättelser. Detta finns i dess visuella gestaltning och arkitektur, men också genom dess funktion och betydelse för samhället. Frågor av modern gestaltning som placeras in i en historisk kontext blir viktiga att diskutera när denna förändring av huset blir realitet.

The purpose of this essay is to study uses of history in a complementary teaching material in the subject of history. The material in question is a 170 page book titled Hitler och Stalin- En bok om ondska. In English, ?Hitler and Stalin- A book on evil?. Essential to the study is that it is expressed within the material that it might be used as the basis for a discussion of the threats against an open democratic society.

The main purpose of this bachelor?s thesis is to examine how Swedish upper secondary school librarians and related staff relate to the online encyclopaedia Wikipedia. The research is placed in the all-embracing context of information literacy and source criticism on the Internet. The study was carried out in the form of qualitative interviews and based on two theoretical bases: firstly, the concept of cognitive authority stipulated by Patrick Wilson, and secondly the idea that Wikipedia has a draw towards late modern epistemological assumptions. The latter theory was also associated with the perceptions of knowledge among the library staff interviewed.

The purpose of this MA thesis is to examine the computerisation of sources that are of interest to genealogists. The primary focus of the thesis is an empirical study, by using a questionnaire addressed to 118 genealogical societies in Sweden, in order to find out what kind of computerisation is being performed by these genealogical societies and what their opinion is of the computerisation of sources of interest to genealogists. The result of this questionnaire has shown, together with printed and electronic material, that there is a good deal of interest from genealogical societies in the computerisation of sources. About half of the genealogical societies who answered the questionnaire are computerising sources themselves and the societies have a positive view in general of the computerisation that is being done and of the increased usage of modern information technology in genealogy. There are on the other hand certain issues that are being discussed such as the important question of the quality of the computerised material.

Syftet med denna uppsats blir att ta reda på hur reformatorn Olaus Petri uttryckte sin främlingsfientlighet och mot vem eller vilka den riktades. Med främlingsfientlighet menas i denna uppsats inte bara rädsla för utlänningar utan också rädsla för det som var annorlunda trots att det betecknades som svenskt. Reformationen var inte bara en religiös och andlig företeelse. Den gjorde också anspråk på att vilja styra hur människor skulle tänka och agera i det dagliga livet. Ändamålet med denna uppsats blir förutom det ovan nämnda att ta reda på vad som föranledde Olaus Petris främlingsfientlighet.

Japansk encefalit (JE) orsakas av Japansk encefalit virus och är en allvarlig myggburen sjukdom med upp till 50 000 humanfall per år. Kliniskt utvecklad sjukdom har en letalitet på runt 25 % och många som överlever drabbas av svåra neurologiska skador. Sjukdomen har en stor geografisk utbredning i Asien och sjukdomsfall ses främst på landsbygden. Viruset vidmakthålls i en zoonotisk cykel mellan mygg (främst Culex tritaeniorhynchus), vadande fåglar och tamsvin. Människor är accidentella värdar.

Ekoturism är en form av turism som bidrar till skyddet av natur- och kulturmiljöer och gynnar lokalbefolkningens välbefinnande. Ekoturism uppkom som en revolt mot massturismen som orsakade både social, ekologisk och ekonomisk negativ påverkan på natur, kultur och samhälle. För att garantera att en anläggning/arrangör bedriver verksamheten utefter ekoturismens principer finns ekoturismmärkningen Naturens Bästa. Svenska Ekoturismföreningen certifierar ekoturismanläggningar/-arrangörer samt skapar riktlinjer för hur verksamheten ska bedrivas i Sverige. Ekoturismen var när den uppkom en ny nisch för landskapsarkitekter och fortfarande idag är ekoturismen relativt outforskad inom landskapsarkitekturen.

I den här uppsatsen visas hur kriminalromanen har gått från att följa de traditionella kriminalgenrernas regler och konventioner till att bryta och modifiera dem. I denna nya typ av kriminalroman som jag kallar ?Den moderna kriminalromanen? hittar man ofta inslag av flera olika kriminalgenrer och nya inslag som skapar en hybridroman som inte kan definieras till en specifik kriminalgenre.                             I teoridelen går jag igenom de traditionella kriminalgenrernas historik och kriterier samt visar på nya influenser, trender och element som är typiska för den moderna kriminalromanen. I analysdelen analyseras Stieg Larssons Millenniumserie, som jag anser är ett typexempel för den moderna kriminalromanen, för att se om recensenternas beskrivning av romanernas genre stämmer. Romanerna analyseras både utifrån traditionella kriminalgenrer och moderna influenser.                             Uppsatsen visar att traditionella kriminalgenrer finns representerade i respektive roman men utöver dessa finns även andra kriminalgenrer och moderna influenser/trender representerade vilket gör att det blir svårt att definiera de enskilda romanerna som tillhörande en specifik kriminalgenre.

In this thesis a possible cost effective runner change of some of the units in the hydroelectric power station Olidan is investigated. The possibility to drive a unit at the same efficiency point through a change of the turbine shaft speed and the rate of discharge is tested. Furthermore the theories behind model testing, determination of efficiency increase from model to prototype and efficiency measurements shall be discussed and analyzed with Olidan as a starting point.A predicted curve has been built on information from model tests and field measurements on the existing runners and runner data from the test of the new model. The predicted curve shows the difference in efficiency between an existing runner and a modern one. It is the difference in efficiency that is used in the calculations that are to show whether changing to a pair of new runners will be cost effective or not.

The aim of this study is to analyse how female neopagan practitioners form their identitiesindividually as well as collectively. Using Ernesto Laclau?s and Chantal Mouffe?s discourse theory and Anthony Giddens? descriptions of late modernity and self-identity, I intend toinvestigate my informants? construction and upholding of a meaningful identity and sense ofself. I will also look at how the neopagan movement can be viewed as a phenomenon closely interwoven with the overriding tendencies in our contemporary society. Neopaganism is an umbrella term that is used to describe a number of modern nature religions that take their inspiration from pre-Christian traditions.
